Gramage Posted June 5, 2007 Posted June 5, 2007 http://gramage.corruptspace.com/MP3/Terra%20Firma.mp3 By no means finished, just messing around really. I quite like the second melody on the Koto when it's in with Terra on the Zither. Quote
Draconiator Posted June 5, 2007 Posted June 5, 2007 First off, I LOVE the Eastern flavor in this one, and it also sounds somewhat like "Cleopactra" on the N64 version of "Ms. Pac Man: Maze Madness", it's great as is, but I think SOMETHING's missing....I don't know what...Maybe if you added the other part of the original song, and fill it out a little bit more, (I totally can hear square waves arpeggiator-style would help a bit, fading in and out) it'll be even better than it is now. But DO NOT CHANGE WHAT YOU ALREADY HAVE! I dig this, I really do, but right now, it's...eh. It's good, but it's not great. 6/10 Quote
Gramage Posted June 5, 2007 Author Posted June 5, 2007 Yeah, it's a little skin and bones right now. I went with the eastern instruments because, well, I love that feel. Thanks for the feedback Quote
Vidilian Posted June 5, 2007 Posted June 5, 2007 As you've said, add some meat to these bones and you could have a sweet mix. I like the kinda hip hop beat its got, expand on that too. I recommend adding other eastern instruments, like a shakuhachi flute (typical japanese sounding instrument). Quote
Benjamin Briggs Posted June 7, 2007 Posted June 7, 2007 my biggest complaint is the direct transcription of the melody add some extra notes, vary the rhythm, something I'm talking about at the very beginning, btw Quote
ocremixfan Posted June 7, 2007 Posted June 7, 2007 It's more an arrangement than an oc remix. The style is good, but you need to give the melody (more of) your personal touch. Quote
