  1. MK64 Titel 2025-08-30 2324.mp3 Pretty basic for now Source:
  2. Drum samples are primarily from Erik Jackson's Soul Pads: https://hiphopdrumsamples.com/products/erik-jackson-soul-pads-sample-pack?srsltid=AfmBOoolhrNz85woah9B0epYhyp3wUvrJ1Ju8qaRr3qkuNdld3JSwmVT Also from MusicRadar Drum Fills: And Basement Drums Vol. 2: And some drum fills that are included with Bitwig Studio. All instrument sounds are just stock from Bitwig Studio.
  3. Nice, love the contrary motion in the bass and melody... what orchestral library(ies) is this?
  4. Snowboard Kids Redial 2025-08-26 0912.mp3 Snowboard Kids "Board Shop" harmony with Bomberman Hero's "Redial" melody, except for Redial's B section which is included. Original rhythms. They are both extremely similar harmonically, but if you listen closely, you'll see the harmony is in fact leaning heavily on the Snowboard Kids side. Arrangement is not complete but this is the general idea I'm going for with this. EDIT: Had the cool idea to do some solo trading between piano, electric piano and drums, but with drum samples of course and repitched. Pretty cool sound. Introduces some jazz tradition into this modern jungle style. EDIT AGAIN: I took the reverb out to test listening to it without reverb. I feel like this particular style may benefit from being completely clean with no reverb, so it sounds as tight as possible. Let me know what you think. I made the ending section be the same as the first part, this time up a whole step. Freshly recorded, not copy and paste. A drum fill takes us to a final weird chord. The only question I have is, should I add the Redial B section at the end? Or it's fine as is? Maybe I could add that section and then just take it back to the ending... I might do that. Also need to go through and make sure bass and chords are well humanized, though they're pretty much there right now. Sources:
  5. I got you bro: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1PfbtESmJaMpaXuMkBjafVM1Wm8QBYO7v/view?usp=sharing Also, I do have a seperate dry kick that I use for sidechain so that won't be an issue. I don't have any plans to add rap to this because I don't think anyone wants to hear my attempt at rapping lol... unless anyone wanted to collaborate this will just be instrumental.
  6. Thanks, the main FX I have on this are delay, reverb, and sidechain. Sidechain especially on the bass. Delay on most of the samples except for bass, drums, and vibraphone. You think less delay, sidechain, both? FX on the drums I can’t do much about unfortunately since they are not dry stems.
  7. Valley of Bowser 2025-08-18 2254.mp3 Really going all out with the sampling here... WIP arrangement but I feel the building blocks are here. Not sure how I can expound on this. Just a funky groove for a koopa who's got attitude. The original "main" chord is built in fourths. Bassline is changed from the original rhythm, it's just a pedal though so really not a big deal. I really like the heavy lean on audio samples than my previous stuff, it certainly sounds clean and more what you might expect for the style... I can picture Biggie rapping on this. EDIT: You know I thought I remembered it right... ignore what I said about the chords (being open fourths). It sounds to me after listening again to the source that the original is the dominant #9 sound... the open 4ths I got was from watching some synthesia tutorials online, but they got it wrong. The original intervals definitely include the major 3rd, dominant 7, and #9. Original progression = | E7#9 | E7#9 | F7#9/E | F7#9/E | Source:
  8. Yoshi's Island Sambatronic 2025-08-05 1420.mp3 This is weird.
  9. Did some mixing... sounds much better. Now I just want to add more variation to synth chords, bass, drums, and probably change the piano improv in the middle. EDIT: Mario Kart 64 Winner 2025-08-19 0006.mp3 Instead of bumping I thought I would just add a new mix. I'll bump when I have more done of what I describe below. Mix on 08/19/25. Sounds even better. Changed the bass sound so it doesn't have super sub octaves in it, sounds much less muddy. Took out bass of reverb, also really helps with muddiness. Added some brightness to snare. Dialed back sidechain on piano. Got rid of delay, sounded terrible and muddy. Made percussion samples repitched instead of stretched. Made kick a bit more full. Brought bass out a bit more. I still need to humanize and flesh out arrangement a bit more I think, but I feel like I want more interplay with the bass octave primary. I'm thinking about adding a synth lead to help break things up. Synth chords definitely need humanization. I think I have something special here, I just need to put in more work to make it a bit more realized. The mixing has been the biggest challenge but over time I think I finally honed my skills to a respectable spot on this particular track. Side note... I haven't mentioned it yet but a cool detail. The bass and the chords "rev up" throughout. It's supposed to sound like a revving engine, and the doppler effect as if a car is passing by. Hence the "rev up" and then sudden drop in cutoff. Like it whizzed right by you.
  10. Lon Lon Ranch 2025-07-24 2141.mp3 Throwing myself outside of my comfort zone with this style. Not sure what to call it, but I think it's post punk. Feel free to disagree, I don't listen to this kind of music.
  11. Zora's Domain 2025-07-31 1734.mp3 Dusted this old thang off to do some mixing and shtuff. Ready to submit...? In the chamber. Added some compression, fixed reverb on all tracks, added some reverb automation on the synth chords because why not, changed bass tone, added some samba instruments at the end, I guess I'll call this city pop.
  12. Sonic Advance 3 Staff Roll 2025-08-19 002.mp3 I do believe she's ready to submit. Also like Master Mi's noir monologue, and reference to I think (tbh never played it) Oddworld... EDIT: While I do believe this is ready to submit as far as arrangement goes, this is on hold due to wanting to get better quality VSTs... This just suffers from the stock Bitwig sounds. I want this to sound more life like. I will try to get some and update in the future.
  13. Katamari Stars 2025-07-15 2045.mp3 Did a bit more mixing and editing... Another problem I see is that I don't know how to master, I've only used (and have been using) basic compression on the master. It's all my skill level can muster up without sounding terrible. Anyways, I think I'm happy with this to submit unless anybody has any glaring problems with it. I switched out the organ lead in that one section because it sounded tacky. Went for lower octave vibraphone without piano backing to add some space and breathing room before the "vocal" section. The only other main problem I see is the upright bass sample isn't super high quality. I like it though, but others may not and it may not fit the quality of OCR's submission guidelines. But hey it's all about learning. EDIT: I took out some reverb but didn't update the audio file. This is submitted with less reverb. Too much.
