  1. I know we've beaten this horse to death, but gosh dang it, I love this song. http://www.superjoesoftware.com/music/Summer%20is%20Here%20(Melting%20Ice%20Caps).mp3
  2. Awesome. This works great, for reverb. But what about any other effect? Am I limited to only those that provide Wet and Dry knobs?
  3. Let's say I channel an instrument to 17. I put a reverb on 17 in the mixer. What if I only want the output of the reverb, and not the original sound? Is there a way to channel the instrument to, say 18, and the effect return to, say 19?
  4. After thinking about it for a while, I definitely want to go the route of decent midi controller + rackmount analog synth. Any gear recommendations for this setup?
  5. hmmm, alright thanks this is the kind of feedback I am looking for. Let me ask another question: how does one get into this sort of thing? Putting down a four figure number to start a potential hobby is probably not a good idea, but then again I get the feeling there is just something spectacular about mastering the subtleties of a hardware synth. What about an old moog one?
  6. I'm thinking about purchasing a synthesizer; I discovered a love for the synth sound and synth programming. I am looking for advice: What sort of devices should a newbie look at purchasing? I know the prices can be all over the place. I don't want something cheap, but I don't want to waste money either. *Maximum* budget $500. One feature I would like is midi/usb/etc communication with my computer, both for using the keyboard as an interface, and for storing sounds in banks on the computer. Advice please!
  7. I say we start a "Help Rayza save up to recover his hard drive" fund.
  8. Just do what I do and pretend Sega didn't make any games after the Genesis. Yay Sonic!
  9. Cool! I like the part with the hits, and it has overall a good beat.
  10. Pirates of the Caribbean is great. On the 2nd one, they released 3 remixes of "He's a Pirate" (theme song), which are very enjoyable. Especially "Pete 'n Red's Jolly Roger Radio Edit" Oh, hey, I found a link online if anybody is curious: http://xtopher.vox.com/library/audio/6a00c2251dafc5f21900c2251e6d87604a.html
  11. Cool, thanks for the info, guys. headphone.com helped a lot, and I ended up spending $210 for this stuff: http://www.headphone.com/products/headphone-amps/the-mobile-line/headroom-total-airhead.php http://www.headphone.com/products/headphones/full-size/sennheiser-hd-280-pro.php
  12. Hey, I live in the US of A. Where is a good place (online or local business) that I can buy good quality headphones? I'm looking for headphones that plug into normal jacks that you find in computers or iPods, but that look kind of like this , meaning high quality and possibly noise canceling. Anybody have any particular brands that are good or know of good deals? etc?
  13. Hmmmmm. Well, thanks for the tips everybody, I will get to work improving the song. Hopefully my new book will help!
  14. My bad, I just typed "MP3 hosting" and hit I'm feeling lucky. I tried the tindeck one 3 times but each time the upload script failed. Here, I just stuck it on my home web server. Only 12 KBps download but better than jumping through hoops. http://superjoe.hopto.org/temp/LostWoodsRock.mp3
  15. Hmmm, that's interesting. All throughout, I kept thinking that my biggest problem was that it was a mundane and repetitive, and I needed to do whatever I could to spice it up.
  16. I posted an earlier version of this a while back, it's my attempt at a remix of Lost Woods from Ocarina of Time. I'm open to suggestions. http://www.wikiupload.com/download_page.php?id=188020
  17. You are weird and I think you chose the wrong songs for project chaos.
  18. I love the epic feel to it, and I especially love the synthesizer at 2:30 The "jungle"-y drum sounds are fantastic (noticeable at 1:00). Isn't that tune from the hidden palace zone or lava reef? If so, awesome combination. I put this song and BGC's Eastern Ice Field on a 2-song repeating playlist and listened to them all day. They never get old. </worship>
  19. Thanks for the link. I looked for the thread, I promise. I'm a noob using FL Studio 6. I listen to a ton of music and really appreciate it, but that doesn't count for much.
  20. I know this has probably been asked a billion times, but I can't find it anywhere. The only one I know of is FruityLoops and now Reason from seeing it as a forum topic.
  21. Thank you; this is exactly the kind of info that I need. ta ta for now.
  22. Some of my favorites are: Protricity - Neighburgers (http://www.ocremix.org/remix/OCR01202/) Big Giant Circles - Eastern Ice Field (http://www.ocremix.org/remix/OCR01566/) Strikebeam (http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/view.php?id=489978⊂=19622) This is the song I'm working on: http://superjoe.hopto.org/temp/Rock.mp3 (The drum loop I am referring to is not in the beginning [though I would like tips on making those better] but at the end in the "chorus".) I found this (http://www.freewebs.com/dragor/Tutorials.htm), and it looks pretty helpful. I will experiment with these tutorials.
  23. *newbie alert* I use FL Studio 6, just starting to work on some mixes. When I create a drum loop, it sounds empty and boring. When I listen to some remixes that I really like, the drums sound really good, exciting, and have a full sound. But I can't figure out why the difference exists or how to improve my drum loops. Any suggestions?
  24. First off, sweet deal, guys. This album is great. Let me get my complaints out of the way first. 1. The Ice Cap Zone was slaughtered. It deserved a huge seat of glory, but it was left with a raw piano that hardly carried the ice cap tune. Don't get me wrong, Hetcenus. The piano sounded good. However, it was plain and a bit boring. That goes for you too Rexy. I think Big Giant Circles's "Eastern Ice Field" deserved the spot. 2. Most of the bonus CD songs were better than the first two CDs. What's up with that? Who chose which songs made the final cut? -- Other than that, guys, it was awesome. Good work. You know, I am okay with some slow piano songs if there are good ones surrounding it. Highlights for me were (1 being the most rockin' awesome): 1. Red Sphere, Blue Sphere 2. Breathtaking Vision 3. Heat Blur 4. Three Ring Nightfall 5. Live at the Sandopolis 6. Dead Batteries 7. Groove Basin 8. Heads Up for Tails 9. Ice Cap 4 Life 10.Lava Passion All right, and I have a question for Red Tailed Fox. Who sucks cock? I can't catch that first word. So long, and thanks for all the remixes.
