I'm very new to video editing myself, so I might not be the best person to ask.  I use Vegas Movie Studio 14 and I really enjoy it since it is relatively easy to use.  My only problem with it is the fact that it is sorta new, and there isn't alot of helpful tutorials out there for it yet.  As far as audio, I actually use FL Studio and some of the tools built into Movie Studio if I plan on using my music in my videos.  I'll refer you to one of my previous threads where I asked a similar answer, maybe it will help:
