  1. Region locking will be fixed (via a patch) within a few months apparently:

    [quote name="Bashiok

(Blizzard Poster)"]Unfortunately, there are a multitude of challenges we have to overcome due to the unique regional account and billing options that didn't exist in the past. But those hurdles aren't insurmountable, and we are looking into solutions that will allow interested players to obtain access to other regional versions without having to buy another full copy of the game. Those solutions are something we're currently planning to have available through Battle.net Account Management within the first few months of StarCraft II's release.

Before that solution is implemented though, you're correct in that you'd need to purchase a US copy of the game on launch day to play in the US region.

  2. Incidentally, when you play the flute in Legend of Zelda for the NES, it ALSO summons a tornado to take you away. And it plays the same song that the warp whistle plays in SMB3 when it takes you away in a tornado. And when it lands you in warp zone, guess what song it plays there:

    OMGZOMG!

Anyway... How is anything in this thread "creepy", aside from possibly the gamecube menu song?

Much like how a lot of songs in the original Smash Bros were pretty creepy.

    Please explain! :D

  3. Personally, I'd rather them split it up than push back the release date. But then again I didn't even care about the three-games thing (aka two-expansions thing) when they announced it.

Heck, they're even releasing it with half of battle.net not yet implemented. The game's still fun, but it'll probably be a while before the online functionality or the custom map system is on par with WC3's.

But for those who care about the singleplayer campaign, it looks like the Terran campaign alone will be as long as your average REALLY FREAKING LONG modern game. I can't say what they're doing with the story, but apparently they're doing a lot of things with the GAMEPLAY in singleplayer.

  4. Back off topic for a second:

Today Blizzard announced that the future SC2 forums, WoW forums, and eventually WC3 and Diablo forums will use the "RealID" system to force forumers to post using their real names (or rather, the name you put into your BNet 2.0 account months ago and can no longer change).

The overwhelming response to this ridiculous idea only gives me hope that Activision-Blizzard will pull their heads out of their asses sooner rather than later (or never).

Get back to me when I can play with people from the US, and I'll give it a second look.

It's not possible for you to order a US version? Sucks. Buy the game when Blizzard gets their priorities straight and announces a real timeline for implementing cross-region play.

We’ve given a great deal of consideration to the design of Real ID as a company, as gamers, and as enthusiastic users of the various online-gaming, communication, and social-networking services that have become available in recent years. As these services have become more and more popular, gamers have become part of an increasingly connected and intimate global community – friendships are much more easily forged across long distances, and at conventions like PAX or our own BlizzCon, we’ve seen first-hand how gamers who may have never actually met in person have formed meaningful real-life relationships across borders and oceans. As the way gamers interact with one another continues to evolve, our goal is to ensure Battle.net is equipped to handle the ever-changing social-gaming experience for years to come.

"We care about your online friendships, so we're region-locking the game and turning BNet 2.0 into Facebook. I hope you hate privacy!"

Sorry for being captain obvious all through my post, but I thought it's best I summarize just how retarded this all is.

  5. "Does is metroid's HAND his gun?"

    Yes. Yes he does is.

Other than that, you've got the right idea ^__^

    Injecting(Infested?) Protoss Kerrigan :o

It's about time she constructs some additional pylons :<

So basically it's a bit like Keiii's entry for last month?

    I'm a bit lost...

If it was a drawing of Link and Zelda, then it's more of a clothes and hairstyle change and does not fit.

If it was actually Cloud and [i'm a total FF7 noob... Aeris?], then... then it's still not a very dramatic body swap >< Link/Cloud and Zelda/Aeris look very similar, and the idea is to change something (or EVERYTHING) so that it's immediately noticeable.

"Does Zelda hold his sword with his left hand or his right?"

    Hehe ;p
