  1. Let's bump VGF again. Since there's no activity anymore in terms of "posting files" (Larry's working on it, patience) and going wild about it, someone has to bump it and do the usual memme.

  2. I guess that came up due to the post on this page here from Claado:

    http://www.ocremix.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=45588&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=45

He had a filming script in mind which later turned out to be a bit "moving away" from the bound film type length. At least in some terms. Claado might go a bit better into that. But if it's really true due to the limitation of the "songlength" that some songs had to be "cut down", that'd be a pity for a handful of tracks. Then again, most of them would be looping over and over (like the SPCs) to get to the point, so yeah. You have to balance that out, which isn't easy either.

I can at least say that most of the tracks are over 2:30min. Over 60% to about 70% of the OST have tracks with a length of like 3:00-3:30min avg. to 6:30min (max). Which is still fair in my opinion. And there's also the bonus material.

  3. Just a quick question. Apparently for some songs on the project a length restriction was put upon the remixer (which is why Predetermination was rejected, I think). If there is no actual movie you are scoring to, why was this done?

Uhm... "Schala and the Queen" is over 6:30min. Predetermination (which is only like 4:20min long) was an audition track and is still in the release.

It's more like that the tracks are a bit short rather than long. That's also due to the fact that a lot of mixers simply didn't write more materal because they thought this wasn't necessary. I never heard of a rejection due to songlength to be honest.

  4. SEEDERS FOR THE TORRENTS NEEDED

In the next 1,5 weeks I'm stuffed with work for Chrono Symphonic and won't be able to seed most of the time (basicly if I'm working on tracks). I'll seed overnight (GMT+1) while I'm sleeping but the rest of the time I'd need seeders to cover the empty spaces.

Also... where did the seeders go that seeded the earlier batches (5-EP batch) and single episodes? Come on now, you can't just load the stuff and expect others to do your thing and then start crying of nobody offers the files for you if you want to load them.

Thanks in advance and off I go.

  5. As far as I've seen, the thin cases have no sidings and just a front and inset cover (no back). I think they're also slightly smaller length- and height-wise, although I don't have a larger case to compare it with.

Slim Cases are as big as regular CD cases, but only half a s thick and can only hold 1 CD.

Do you have the tracklist on the back or on the inset?

So far it's on the backside unless Eon does something else.

One thing that eludes me though... it's a planend 2CD release... why do you want to have it in a slim case? I mean... if you buy professional soundtracks, are they in a slim case too? Especially double CD releases? I guess not. And what if it'll be a 3CD release (like the ToP/ToD project is aiming at), will you go with slim cases too?

I just don't get the point here.

  6. when are the torrent files for the album going to be up

I'm working on that one. Patience... patience. Like DarkeSword and KyleJCrb said: "It'll be out when it's out".

Will there be any alternate case designs? I'm looking in particular for a thin-case style.

You more have to aim for a "douple CD" case as the soundtrack project will be released in that form. And yeah, I was the one who asked for a DVD Cover, but it's all right. Not nessecarily needed. ;)

  7. To be on the save side, expect 180MB, better if 200MB. I'm pretty sure we won't reach that one, but then you're always on the save side. According to that, you can do the math what the bandwidth will be.

Also keep in mind that there also will be torrent files. So I'd go via that system rather than clogging bandwidth. And the sharing goes a tad faster.

Engineering goes along nicely too. Aside from my headaches. More soon.

  8. TORRENTS are now AVAILABLE

Like I said a couple of paiges earlier, there're new packs to download elder VGDJ shows. For those who didn't get it, here's a quote:

Shows will be released in the following batches:

10-show pack (as soon as 2x 5-show packs are full)

5-show pack (as soon as 5x seperate shows are full)

1-show pack (every new show as single seed as soon as 5 shows are ready for a 5-show pack)

So yeah, the next "5-show pack" was full (16-20) and I did go straight over to a 10-show pack release. Still to those who have the "elder" shows already can snag the latest one via torrent. I might change that in the future, though. Files are as usual released with the shownotes, that's why it took a bit longer this time.

So yeah, sorry for the instant "seeder cutoff", but I have to clean up my tracker from time to time. ;)

Have fun while listening and thanks for seeding.

  9. Not even AIM works? Damn, they don't have to give access to filesends, but normal text chat should be possible. As if this is "such a bad thing" - you can get more viruses and trojans due to homepage surfing than you'd ever get in AIM/ICQ and IRC alltogether.

Security at the wrong places, definitly.

  10. That means you can finally join the OCR channel? Great.

But nah... it won't be anything in terms of Chrono Symphonic. At least not in my case - I won't call in. Hell I don't even know if I'm there for the night. But regardless of that, my PC will record the show as backup - as usual.

  11. Wow... funny that VGF is forgotten so fast recently. As soon as the show is over, the thread vanishes on Page 2. I still remember that VGF was once one of the "sticky" threads on page 1 (and by sticky I mean it was barely reaching page 2).

    ANYWAY...

VG FREQUENCY Show #64 - TONIGHT, 10pm EST

  12. Months is not true... one month ago it was the last time he postet at OCR, 14th September was the last time he was at VGMix. He could have at least answered our friggin' mails!

And the problem is... I can't kick him from the project either. So all comes together... used up 3 tracks in the project (3 essential ones at that too), vanishes and even ignores eMails.

    End of story? Hell no!

  13. Don't blame me, I'm still trying to track down ellywu, but not even the "community" is helpful in that case. *GRRRRR!*

Good news on the other hand:

mv just sent me his fie, just have to check it if it's okay, but I guess it is cause he had luck that he could even restart the file. Same with ZAS, after a long delay I finally have his files. Sephire also contacted me this night with a new file from one of SirRus' tracks. So I'll get to that ASAP - private errants are also important.

I'm also still in the middle of mixing SirRus' and Reuben's track. Reconstructing the stuff isn't easy and takes time - especially because I'm not used to Reason anymore and he used samples that're not in Reason. I'll keep you updated.

    So left is only:

    - Unknown (I know that he was on VGMix yesterday - I understand the problems with the aftereffects of "Katrina", but I can't wait forever!)

    - ellywu (same issue - that... <insert random coursing and swearing here>)
