    Hey yo, I'm a trumpet player. I can hold my own in a big band setting (I'm in the top big band at my college) but for whatever reason my recording setup won't give me a nice bright sound, it's always a really dark and canned sound. I haven't done a whole lot of live recording so I'm not very skilled at it. And all I have is an SM58 and a Line 6 Toneport preamp. If you or someone can help me out to get a good recording quality then I'll be all over this e-band. Here's a demo I made so you can see what I mean...

    I'm actually a composer by trade, though, and quite familiar with all forms of jazz and classical. If this band gets off the ground, I'd be happy to collab or do some arrangements myself.
