Sounds lovely. A couple months ago, we tested it on other browsers and it was Chrome only. Looks like djp's gotta address it as a broader issue.

We're definitely aware of this, but thanks for bringing it up again. It's a Chrome thing, and this doesn't happen in other browsers. djp may be able to explain what's changed in Chrome but I'm not sure if he has plans to work around this issue vs. working on OCR v6. IMO, it's ENOUGH of a UX annoyance that we should see if it can be fixed.

Sorry that I missed this thread. I can't speak to the formatting of the VARIAtions tracks, since that wasn't formally released through OCR (we should re-release it), but I just downloaded "Visions of Kin" and had no problems with it on Winamp 5.666 or 2.95. Was it a copy from the latest torrent set or it is an old copy? Try downloading a fresh copy if you haven't already. It's possible an old copy had MP3 validation issues like Rozo mentioned, but even then I've not seen files like that crash Winamp or have difficulty playing. Lemme know if any more information turned up on the issue.

For the mascots, they're low-res versions of character images paired with information from the bios, so, not that I'm a lawyer, but I believe we have an instance of fair use. We've taken down mascots by request, but overall we're not worried about infringement due to the nature of the usage. We're not going to use unrelated non-VG characters as our mascots, since we're a video game arrangement site. That said, when we change forums (hopefully sometime in Q1 2015), people should be able to upload their own avatars and you can use whatever you want, including the OC you're developing. If you want to vote on the 3 characters from the OP that you'd like to see added to the rotation, go for it!

For a 3:39-long piece, I needed at least 109.5 seconds of overt source usage for it to dominate the arrangement. 05-:17, :18-1:00, 1:07-1:10, 1:44-1:47, 1:56-2:01, 2:12.5-2:37, 2:39-2:43.5, 2:45.5-2:49, 2:51.5-3:04, 3:18-3:35 = 127 seconds or 57.99% overt source usage Short and sweet, the snare drum writing in particular was bland; some more spice there would have this sounding more spirited and sophisticated. The backing writing as a whole sounded thin IMO, but you got some good mileage out of these sounds for sure. Overall, the texture was strong. I really enjoyed the creativity, energy and variations on the themes (including the "Green Hill Zone" guest appearance at 1:44). Let's go! YES

You should mention them somewhere so that we know of all the VGM pieces used in the arrangement, even if it's just cameos for several themes. Cameos don't need to be right in the "Name of individual song(s) arranged", but include some mention of them in your general comments. Timestamps help too.
