Looks awesome dude, however, only posted remixers are allowed to make threads promoting their own projects. I've merged his into the Kickstarter Central thread.
I am a posted remixer as zylance and zoola :3

Hello OCR, it's been too long...
I'd like to present my latest endeavor:
XING: The Land Beyond is a contemplative journey through the afterlife, incorporating puzzle design akin to the Zelda series, with emphasis on environment like Dear Esther and Myst. Players must keenly observe their surroundings and use their wits to progress through the serene world.XING: The Land Beyond grants players the ability to manipulate their environment in a wide variety of ways. Players can summon rain, generate snowstorms and change the time of day to help them solve puzzles. These abilities not only create an immersive gameplay experience, but will also allow players to create their own solutions for puzzles. For example, the act of crossing a simple river can be suddenly transformed by freezing winds or torrential rain, making simple what once was impossible!
The story of XING is told through gameplay and poetry. There is no dialog, no subtitles, only elegant poetry and cryptic messages etched into stone monuments. The player must explore to find the answers they seek. Players will encounter sumptuous shrines, awesome abilities, sorrowful souls and puzzles within puzzles.
Players will be able to traverse mountains, deserts, forests, volcanoes and more in their journey through the land of XING. Standard first-person controls and a minimalist UI make the game accessible, while still engaging for seasoned gamers. Death is but another journey…
XING: The Land Beyond features:
• Original Score
• Weather Control
• 3-D Environmental Puzzles
• Integrated Day-Night Cycle
• Dazzling 3-D Environments
• Intuitive First-Person Controls
• Pervasive and Penetrating Poetry
• Utilizing the power of the Unreal Engine 3
We are excited to announce the beginning of our Kickstarter campaign.
• Expected Release Date: October 2013
• Price: $15
• Platform: PC
• Distribution: Steam Greenlight
A little history; I started this project partly because I've always wanted to make a game and partly because I was frustrated with the games I was composing for while freelancing. Little did I know I would fall in love with game development to complement my love of music, and here I am eight months later.
I don't always like to dwell on the past, but I'd like to give thanks to this community for fostering my need for creation and giving me amazing support on all of my projects I've ever tackled. Whenever I'm asked, I always point out OCR as a massive influence on my life and direction, and for that I'll always support the community.
Thanks again, for everything!
John

Did you want me to change your forum name to Zylance? zylance, lowercase?
Sure, let's go with zylance lowercase. Will I log in as zylance after this change?

Thanks Mirby. Good to see you are still around

Just because it is finished doesn't mean I wouldn't be interested in feedback

So I made this remix / orchestration of the League of Legends main theme a few months ago, and I never thought about submitting it to OCR. Its been so long; I know the standards have changed so I'm not sure what's being accepted nowadays. Take a listen:

I don't know how many people here still remember me, but I used to be pretty active here at OCR years ago. I've move on to other musical outlets to continue to explore my options.
Please, take a listen to my portfolio at http://johntorkington.com
You can find quite a selection of musics there.

So I know I haven't exactly been active on these forums for a long time, but I'd just like to let all you LoL fans know that I've been making parody songs for LoL this year. I just put out a one today, take a listen!
Alistar got really popular:
Just put this out:

Nobuo is awesome.

Ha! I came to OCR in 2002, got a remix up not long after, clung to the "OC ReMix Artist" badge like an ancient religious artifact, and haven't been bothered to submit anything for years for fear of rejection.
Sounds a lot like me. Been doing some album projects recently, and a name change that no one took seriously.

Oh no worries, I'm just joking around. I like how there is a clear distinction between the OCRemixes of the song as compared to non OCR'ers in terms of defining remix as rearrangement.
-
Oh geez you guys are going alphabetically? Guess I'll be waiting some time!
-
Heh count one in for late entry right here. Just submited!
-
Enjoy an extremely late entry by Zylance sometime tomorrow : )

Damn it I wish I had some money laying around right now. I would totally buy the exact same libraries! Have fun with your new toys!

I've always heard that it was not worth the hassle and money over gold - too many choices and resourses. Then again I heard this 4 or 5 years ago and I still only own silver : )

That Casio is gonna be the cheapest full sized controller you are going to find, despite the fact it has it's own sound chip. Any cheaper then that and the keys are going to suck, I gaurentee it.
-
Sorry I won't be able to give ya a new version by the 5th... but you got me in the blue so I hope I'm in the clear. I want that elusive silver status, though, so once I come back from vacation I'll get there.

I used a 2.0 ghz Core Duo 2 laptop for a long time and streaming off a good external would always result in me hitting the cpu barrier before any sort of bandwith error. Could be different with a modern proccessor.

Happy B-Day, DJP, alexis, (and me.. )

Yeah, I might check that out too.

Dunno why Sonar is giving you problems, but their most direct competitor is probably Cubase, which is what I use. I'm running Cubase 5 on Windows 7 64-bit (it's native 64) with no problems. One thing to note though is that Cubase probably has a higher learning curve then Sonar, then again I have not touched Sonor since version 4.

I always have windows blaring then adjust the nob for speakers, mainly because then there is only 1 nob you ever need to worry about unless you want to turn down just one application. Also, I might be wrong, but I think you would get less noise from the questionable pre-amp in your soundcard (assuming you are integrated) if the signal is the loudest it can be vs the static noise floor.
-
I've never tried it, but I'm pretty sure as long as you have multiple outs and a DAW that supports surround mixing you can route the outs to the corosopding speaker. The Presonus FP-10 or varients are pretty damn cheap and has 8 outs (enough for 7.1) for $400.

Hey everyone, I'm an old(ish) school OCRemixer from back in the day, and I wanted to let you all know I've finally made the leap to a game composer with the release of my first title: XING: The Land Beyond.
You can check out the Bandcamp I've set up here:
And a link to the Steam Page:
I've got all sorts of fun memories here, recorded in the posts I made back 12 years ago when I was 15 and wide-eyed at the idea that there were other video game music fans out there in the world. Thanks again, OCR, for leading me down this path of creation!
