If you opened the top of the cartridge for 'Sonic and Knuckles' and put 'Sonic 2' in the slot thing, you could play Sonic 2 as knuckles.
Ah. Gotcha.
The mexican boss in Timelord. It takes at least 3 months to kill him.Jason in Friday the 13th is also a hard boss
The Mexicans are always the hard bosses
Ha ha. True, usually, but not in EarthBound!

I'm looking to have a permanent OCRCL logo that has a fairly classy look about it. Something like the NFL or FIFA or something, something that I can use over and over again.
Anyone with photoshopping skills willing to generate a logo - send me an IM or PM. I'd like a logo with some of the old OCR colors (shades of purple) but I'd go with anything, and a chess theme is probably necessary.
Thanks to you guys in advance if you decide to undertake my...er...challenge.
I'd be thrilled to take a stab at it, but I don't really know what the old OCR used to look like (not to make you feel old, or anything, Kamoh). I don't suppose you could post some example of what the old colors used to look like? If so, I'll get started right away.

Hmmm...
So my ego got shot down quite effectively in two losses to Margoute. What is it with me and declared third matches? Oh, and Kamoh and I finished our second game.
Rainman DX vs. Kamoh, 1-0.
Rainman DX vs. Margoute, 0-2.
-
sorry it's not a transparency - I'm still at school.
Hee hee, Kamoh's such a perfectionist. No worres, dude.
But, uh, don't forget about my two wins against Grayfox.
-
Hmmm...
Kamoh may not like it, but he timed out against me in our one game we managed to squeeze into today. Also, won two against Grayfox, who was a pleasure to play as always.
In summary,
Rainman DX vs. Kamoh, 1-0.
Rainman DX vs. Grayfox9996, 2-0.

Show that if H is a bounded infinite set, then there exists some sequence made of distinct points of H which is always increasing or always decreasing.
Aaaaahhhhhhhhhh! Make the voices in my head stop! Make the voices go away!

the last part of sonic 2 was pretty hard when you played as knuckles becuz he couldn't jump high enough to hit dr.robontic
... Knuckles was in Sonic 2? And you could play as him?
-
So, like, I find it humorous how, in Kamoh's system, a record of 2-4-0 is inherently better than 2-2-0.

...my new girlfriend is from band...
*Cough, cough, cough, cough, cough, cough no band babies, now, understand?
So, as for me, my primary instrument is the Marimba or any mallet percussive instrument, and I also march in the pit at school. I used to march quint tenors - they were so much fun. I miss that.
I adore just about every form of instrumental music, and even though it only accounts for around 33% of my total music library on my computer - (1321 items, 91+ hours, 4.2 GB) it is a solid 75% of the music I listen to regularly, and I have to scroll down 70 tracks, (38 of which are OCR tunes) in order to reach the most-often-played lyrical piece, Enya's "Orinoco Flow". So there you go.

EDIT: I decided on this before I lost two games to Rainman :'(
Grayfox. You meant grayfox, right?
It Rains on a cloudy Gray day. The Man ate a Fox to keep the doctor a day away.
The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog.
EDIT: aww... post #99 4tL.

From my point of view, math is entirely tolerable with the exception of proofs. I enjoyed calculus and differential equations, but when I took advanced calculus (which was all proofs), I had to drop the course. I can do proofs, much like I can clean outhouses. In other words, proofs and outhouse cleaning are equally pleasurable.
You do not understand math then. Everything before the introduction of proofs is meant to prepare for actual mathematics - in otherwords, with proofs. So, if you know how to do proofs, would you care to share with us a proof of the Fundamental Theorem of Algebra?
Heh. That's easy.
Actually, I find mathematical proofs troublesome as well. I enjoy math, related concepts, and computation comes really easy to me. But taking this Abstract Vector Spaces course at Georgia Tech taught me one thing above all else: the math that I learned (attending a sub-par public school in North Georgia) was not sufficient in any sense of the word to prepare me for later math. AVS is a proofs-based study of linear algebra, and is the first required UG proofs-based course at GT. Frankly, it was probably the major inspiration for me to switch from a Math major to a Math minor - the only difference in scheduling is I have two 4XXX level classes left to take instead of ten.
So while I understand what Bahamut is saying, defending upper level math and its need for proofs before anything can be built upon it, it doesn't mean that even mathematicians like myself have some sort of natural bent for it either.
But, for the record, I am steadily getting better at writing and thinking in terms of proofs!

Stupefied and outraged, I must swallow two losses to the King himself, Bahamut. I think he's probably winning in our overall series now by, oh, 3 or 5 games. I'm really gonna have to pick up the slack.
Rainman DX vs. Bahamut, 0-2.
-
Okay, Dama wasn't in tip-top condition, and he slipped in time, giving up two to me.
Rainman DX vs. Damathacus, 2-0.

Alright, so Keegan steals two risk matches from Rainman, the second of which was no less than a Queen sac. Props to Keegan for some fun chess.
Rainman DX vs. KeeganTheFox, 0-2.

Hi all! I'm new here.
...
No, really. I haven't been on these forums for what, two, three years perhaps? Can anyone tell me what's happened since way back when? I left roughly around the time Spram's mind snapped.
... Wow. Who's Spram?

i wanna report rainman.
No, no creo.
EDIT: Yes, Bahamut, Friday will be fine.
-
No, You must play the second game I challanged you. You cant run from me.
Dangit, JD, I've been IMing you for an hour - and you've been kibitzing all my games - why don't you respond??
I feel so snubbed!
-
It's still logged though, and if you don't finish up - your loss
debatable.
-
Get your Techster marimba-playing ass online so JD and Keegan can fight over you.
Alright, so I played JD a risk match, and I won. We only played one game. Please to be explainink exactly what we doink now? He was under the impression that we only play one game, though it is clear from your table that we were supposed to play two.
Also, since JD wanted to play me, does that make this game my risk match also?
In review,
Rainman DX vs. Johnderrilll, 1-0.

1)If, for ANY reason, you recieve less than zero points for a week, YOU WILL BE SUSPENDED for the next week. This can be done by losing reports and losing riskmatches.
In other words, if you only play a risk match on a given week and lose it? Or is this some sort of penalty for sucking? Just curious.
Nemitor_Atimen will be given a BYE.I like that idea. One bye per four weeks, with the way byes are set up, sounds very fair.
-
A quick win and a drawn out stalemate by repitition against Setz means I'm done for Week 1, since Nemo is officially dropping out. Which, given the meaninglessness of the first week, is kinda like folding when you could've checked, but whatever.
Rainman DX vs. Setz, 1 1/2 - 1/2.
-
Furthermore, it'd put the focus of the tournament on me instead of on the game.
That's a really good point.
I'm totally prepared to, if given an adequate algorithm, write a Python script or something to generate accurate ratings, but I'm clueless on what that algorithm would look like. All I know is for two equally matched players, a rating change of (W, D, L) = (+18, 0, -18) would occur. Beyond that, I would need instruction.
But it's not like we're hurting without it either. If you're a player who's into that kind of thing, I suggest www.playchess.com.

mkay, here's my submission. Smaller than I thought it was gonna be, but if you like it, and are willing to give me more time, I can make it bigger. Maybe.
