  1. I am a true console lover. I still have all my emulators and all my roms.
  2. Japan Reacts to Xbox One: "It seems like the day has come for me to leave the Xbox. It's total nonsense that there is no backwards compatibility. Ah, but if The Idolmaster 3 comes out, I guess I'll have to buy it..." "Television. The NFL. These things seem the biggest, but in Japan, they're totally irrelevant. For Japan, it's totally over. It's at the point where it doesn't matter if this doesn't sell in Japan." "I gathered that they didn't think about Japan at all." "I'm looking forward to the new Kinect." "The PS4 [reveal] had more of a technical rundown, so it was more interesting." "Western internet forums are on fire. lol" "It was like, you can play those [old games] on the 360." "Well, the controller didn't get worse. But, whatever..." "Even if the functionality is increased, what you end up with is an old PC. It's okay they are putting effort into TV and video services. I don't need that, though, because I'm enjoying my PC gamer life." "Put together a presentation for gamers." "I wonder how Americans are gaming at home. Whenever I'm playing a game, I never feel like I want to watch TV, so the ability to switch between the two makes no sense to me." "They [Microsoft] are not looking at Sony or Nintendo, but are frantically coming up with countermeasures for Apple and Google." "And here, I thought they were going put out something with amazingly high specs..." "The only thing I thought was amazing was the multi-tasking." "Kinect is certainly amazing... But, what's this feeling I have that I cannot really explain... Have I turned into some elderly, decrepit gamer?" "They're totally not thinking of Japan...This is worse than the Xbox 360." "That D-pad on the controller was good. I guess they won't put that out on the slim Xbox 360." "I like the console's design. But I have no clue why it's so damn big." "The reaction from foreigners isn't good. On Twitter, it's being trashed." Edit: A picture version of the above text.
  3. As I said in the WiiU thread. We "True Gamers" are an aged dinosaur that are a vast minority, compared to the TV/FOOTBALL/CALLOFDUTY majority.
  4. http://kotaku.com/xbox-one-is-not-backward-compatible-509088037 Bleck beat me to it.
  5. THis was the final nail for me. I have been hoping that Microsoft would pretend to care about games, but they don't. After Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft all failing to deliver anything worthwhile, Console gaming is dead to me. What a tragic time indeed. Halo TV show directed by Speilburg is alright though. Just so most people are aware, that is a TV show. Not a video game. So it doesn't count.
  6. Game is on 1.5.2, why can't the server be on that revision?
  7. Server is grossly out of date. You might have to wait a bit bro.
  8. My bad, I think I may have clicked an extra quote button.
  9. I am arguing that the system doesn't have the grandiose potential that most fanboys say it does. Also I am a cynic, and my cynic sense points to this. Money drives our industry. Nintendo saw a lot, and I mean A LOT of money last cycle. They want to see that kind of money again with this. Anything shorter than that will be seen as a failure. It is that very love of money that lead them to be complacent. That is biting them in the ass. They really could turn it around, they have done it late in the cycles in the past. Look at the Gamecube. Without the money that wouldve been brought in by having a large array of third party support, and being once again crippled by being viewed as under powered by the big publisher company EA (and probably by other publishers whom are quiet about it, though that is speculative), they are going to fail this cycle. Not in a "Nintendo Shuts It's Doors Forever" kind of way, but in Playstation 3 kind of way. Also: the desparation comes from everyone of the mainstream audience thinking that the WiiU is just a Wii add-on. One they don't want. Nintendo made these flyers after focus groups couldn't identify differences between the two systems.
  10. I am beaten. Clearly I am dumb and have no clue what I am talking about. There certainly has been no desperation coming from Nintendo themselves because they can't figure out why people don't want their system. They are the smartest game company on the planet, and will always be the best console every cycle. Real talk: Delusions are ok to have. You three seem to be teeming with em. But be realistic. Seriously. Also it is incredibly rude to call someone dumb. I don't call you all idiots when you ignore facts. I try to have a rational debate, and yet I am met with fanboy, and Mirb's case fan girl vitriol.
  11. I am not trolling. I am stating facts. Yes Bayonetta 2 might be good, and Pikmin 3 might be good. But they need to be out. I have a rule. I don't buy a system unless it has 5 games that I want that are exclusive to that system. At this time there are 2 that I want. Pikmin and Bayonetta. And no, no one wants Sonic. And even if I did, Sega stated there would be a port to the 3DS. Moot Point. Also. There hasn't been a new Zelda game since Ocarina. No I did not. It has the same appeal as Wii Sports and Wii Play did. Nothing but a small distraction. Better suited for a mobile type platform.
  12. Also the argument that Nintendo knows how to make their controllers fun is a shitty one. There are in North America right now, 50 or so games for the WiiU. Two of those games are dev'd by the big N. By your argument, 8% of WiiU games makes use of the gimmicky controller well. 8% is a failing score in in any grading system.
  13. I am pointing out that a gimmicky screen is really just that. A gimmick. There is no reason to sing the WiiU's praises when the only things it has going for it is a handful of meager to mediocre at best ports, a Mario game that, just like the 3DS version is a rehash, and a theme park game that gives you nostalgia goggles for good Nintendo games long past. Controllers dont sell systems. Games do.
  14. I have a 3DS. It is a controller with two screens. Nintendo clearly has the tech to give us two screens, why dont they?
  15. A lot of people said that about the Wii's controller too. Look where that got them.
  16. Of course the WiiU is getting the next CoD. But the problem is too many of that 20 Million or so folks that play COD are going to get it for the next Xbox or PS4, not because WiiU is bad, but because none of their friends will get it for the WiiU. Also Lego Batman 2 was a really good game. Also also, I hate to break it to you, but the majority of bottom feeding troglodytes that will buy anything labeled Brown shooter, far outweigh the very small by comparison minority of people that think otherwise. Publishers know this because they can make a hell of a lot more money just cashing in than producing "works of art." Games are mainstream now and folks like us that enjoy the works of art that came before are aged dinosaurs.
  17. Considering the top selling games of last year were: 10: Sports 9: Lego Batman 2 8: Brown Shooter Set in Modern Times 3 7: Brown Shooter with a Cell Shaded Artstyle 2 6: Sports 5: Almost a Sport 4: Brown Stabby Almost Shooter 3: Brown Shooter in Space 2: Sports 1: Brown Shooter that has Black Operators 2 At Bleck: Volume of games published is what I am referring to. They publish more games per year than any other publisher. The next being Sony. Then Ubisoft.
  18. With EA being the biggest publisher in the world, it actually is really important.
  19. Go for it dude, I got Animal Crossing, DKCR 3DS, and Pokemon X and Y on preorder right behind ya.
  20. Damn B-Strades. You beat me to this one.
  21. EA gets a lot of heat, yet does something right: http://venturebeat.com/2013/05/15/ea-kills-its-controversial-online-pass-program/#jIDyYUiYIYsTDlvY.99
