  1. good point! we did start saying the dates at the beginning... we should do it again. Thanks Darke! Yeah, um... wasn't that one of my first comments in this thread? :glare:
  2. BLEH. Okay, the first one sucked. I just started rambling and cut myself off. The second one is better in my opnion. I'll just be honest with you guys. I get really nervous when I call someone (or something like this) for the first time, especially when I'm excited about it. I get short of breath and all that stuff. (Weird, I know.) I started rambling and apoligizing for that, and I'm like "okay, that just sounds stpuid" and hung up Hopefully the second voicemail is better (I'm pretty sure I wavered a little, but that's life).
  3. Dude, if you torrent, I will totally seed. I think I have everything the've released (including the Test feeds). And Aurora, I had wanted to leave you guys a voicemail for you to include in #14, but due to me being a lazy ass, I never called in on Tuesday (or tonight).
  4. Yeah... Gizmo doesn't like me. It won't let me register. (The stupid "type these numbers to confirm you're a human being" thing doesn't work. It just displays a grey box.) Anyway... I'm pretty good at pronoucing Japanese names, but I dont' have a mic to record things with. Also... A&R... what's your guys take at what happened at Pearson today?
  5. I thought it was funny... (mostly) Actually, there's a huge distinction. "Roadie" is a nickname for a band's road crew, or the technicians who follow the band around getting everything set up for them.
  6. Seriously, Rayza... where did you get that sample from?
  7. Checking out the show now... I'll do my usual blog-comment and blogging of new episode later. One thing, though... I'm gonna be anal here about my name. It's pronounced "zarg" (you know; like "zerg" but with an A ). The extra Gs are just there to make it look alien. But now I need to think of something to contribute. BLARGH!
  8. pixiepretzels... I see. *shudder* At least no one's calling him "Dr. Pepper" anymore.
  9. THIS MUST BECOME A FEATURE! A FEATURE I SAY! Dude... Rayza, no offense, but you kind of sound like a valley girl this way.
  10. Comments like these make me wish I had the talent for this.
  11. You're a sneaky, sneaky man, Rayza.
  12. I have nothing for you to mention, because I am boring. Sorry.
  13. Hrm. Maybe I should make an antipixel button. I'll get on that. And "placebo" was the word I was looking for before. Only took me a day to think of it. And it's done. Check it out. Let me know if you want me to tweak the colors a little. I'm not an expert at this stuff, but it's fun.
  14. Exactly. The quotes implying a purely subjective thing. Personally, I think it's all... oh, crap I forget the term... when you want to think that something is better but there's no basis for it. Oh well. I'll think of it later. Anyway, the point of my post: I just blogged you guys. Hope I didn't get anything wrong. If there's anything you want me to correct, add, or post in particular, let me know.
  15. Yeah, I was posting my comment on VGDJ when I realized that. I dont' have much experience with AAC, myself. Never really did much beyond the usual suspects (MP3, Ogg Vorbis, Musepak).
  16. I didn't really notice much of a difference sound-wise, but maybe that's because you were having mic issues -- either the extra bitstream compensated for it, or you really aren't gaining much by encoding higher. I know one thing you can do is encode as Ogg Vorbis (Wikipedia entry); that format is inherently variable-bitrate and tends to do just as well as MP3 with a slightly lower filesize at similar quality settings. An Ogg Vorbis stream with a nominal bitrate of ~64kbps (q0) or ~80kbps (q1) should suit your needs just fine. I realize this can be a bit technical if you're not familiar with Ogg Vorbis, but the crew at Hydrogen Audio would be able to help with that. Edit: Of course, if people are actually putting this on iPods or other portable media players. That's the big downside. So if you want to sick with MP3, I think 96kpbs (either CBR or VBR) should do fine.
  17. Hey... one thing I noticed... would it be possible for you guys to put the show date in the ID3 tag? I know you can see it when the feed updates, or you guys post here, or whatever, but I am archiving these, after all.
