  1. I kept meant to mix it better, I know exactly what you mean about the musicbox spikes out in certain sections, especially when it collides with choirs which are significantly quieter. Didn't notice that when I bounced that morning a month ago cuz I happened to changed the notes to be few semi tones higher.
  2. Hey, thanks! I use mostly Knotakt 4 for sample manipulation and Cubase 5 for drum programming. As for those 2 tracks, thats all the sounds from Evolve Mutation Library. So mostly already made loops, I simply chopped those. Have a look on the NI website, they have a new Kontakt Library called Western Africa, awesome perc/drum sounds!
  3. yeh leeb is amazing, he was taught by eric roche -- an increidabe acoustic guitar legend who passed away few years back i have seen leeb live and he is just pure awesome! i would loved to go to his guitar camp in his home town one of these summers ^^ in fact, you may also like kotaro oshio, okapi, preston reed and so on so on...long live michael hedges!
  4. Lovely stuff! The 'untidiness' reminds me of Thomas Leeb's guitar music. Very good! P.S. Think some names for the songs!
  5. I never played Legend of Mana but I am a hardcore Secret of Mana 2 fan, I'd like to join.
  6. I use Cubase mainly (occasionally Protools & Logic). Plugs in I run are mostly Kontakt 4, Absynth 5 and all the Komplete instruments.
  7. Seiken Densetsu 3 (aka Secret of Mana 2) holds some of the best melody throughout my childhood. Today I decided to start a new project on this theme --- Source: Remake: http://soundcloud.com/linjaflu/evening-star-linjaflu-mix So what do you all think?
  8. Hey, thanks for the feedback. The section you specified need to be louder --- I actually did it with the original music in mind (not this piece but the various other boss fight themes). I found that the bells generated some of the original snes feel and I wasn't very keen on bring the level up on the bells. If something needs to be louder it would be the percussions as whole as these are the main components that make this section 'maniac'. Then I face the problem of it over powering the bells. Maybe there are some balance tips? Also, agree on the ending, I am stuck on it now so I moved onto my other projects, maybe sometimes later I will come up with more ideas
  9. nice! how were the guitar sounds produced? sounds a slightly artificial to me.
  10. http://soundcloud.com/linjaflu/essential-guide-in-contact woot!
  11. I enjoyed it, even though I am not fan of the Beat style at all (nor its samples, sounds too generic for me). Music wise I like the transition and effects. Its the sort of music I'd be expecting if there is a current gen remake of the game (with better drum sounds). Although, after a brief listen through the original I can tell there isn't that much of re-arrangement, maybe alter the melody more, add extra solos or change the chord progressions? The intro is definitely a strong part of the piece. I know I am too subjective
  12. Some mash ups using Traktor Pro 2. Few mistakes but fun, sounds different everytime using different effect sets and timecode record. SOurce: REmix: http://soundcloud.com/linjaflu/powell-linjaflu-mix

  17. http://soundcloud.com/linjaflu/powell-linjaflu-mix No mixing, straight out of Cubase.
  18. Yeh the ending is lame. I should just ended it at 1:30, but I was layering that part for furture next part, although at the time run out of idea and just left it like that "P
  19. I like Keep more coming! Not sure if its the youtube crap sample rate. The drum sounded like they need a bit more variation/eq.

  21. This one has to be your best. Very South Koreaish style of rap. Peace
  22. anotha fast car track...tis gud 2 see der still old skool drum & bass, jungle, breakbeat goin'. just 2 let the others kno, dis is one of the most original form of 2days drum & bass. yes!! UK STYLE!!! however, u can't call dis experimental anymore cuz it's bin experimented ages ago n it has 'died'. i mean it has evolved, just like phoneix. :peace:out
  23. dis brings bak the early 90s uk club scene. fast cars, they were one of the most original form of 2days drum & bass. dis is a great dance tune, gud work!!! da idea is 2 keep the crowd dance in 180bpm or higher, treat dis as a dance tune but don't judge it from a musician point of view. why u think hard house is so borin' n yet so popular worldwide? 1 last thing, da voice is the trademark 4 the uk mc scene. :peace:out
  24. dis beat is very smooth and catchy, however da uk garage stylish mc kind ruins it. ur flare scratch is kool but it doesn't sound real, sounds like u've programmed it usin' acid pro or summat. however, dis is a great mix. :peace:out
