  1. hey guys, here's a little calculator I made a while back that I found on my computer. Its a simple program for determining how much of advantage certain levels and handicaps have over each other. Right Click and save this link for the Mac OS X version Right Click and save this link for the Windows version
  2. Just wondering what people here thought of this. http://quizilla.com/users/bashtrash/quizzes/What%20Super%20Smash%20Brothers%20character%20is%20best%20for%20you%3F/
  3. Most magazines do that. It generally takes em a coupla months to put the thing together. Yeah. The issue of Game Informer that is being discussed here is one that I got like two months ago. BTW, Assassin's Creed looks f*cking amazing! [/off-topic rant]
  4. ^^ YES! OMG Why didn't I think of that?! Yes! Dhsu: I tried to get some characters from GGX but even the sprites I used (which were direct rips not resizes) were very pixelated and bad. If anybody could help me make them look better I will gladly rework them. I'd love to have some Guilty Gear X avatars! I tried a few from Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust D Meier Link Leila Grove Charlotte Carmilla LT: Took the first ones of D, Meier and Leila. The first Grove is too dark, though I dunno if he'd look any better if brighter. Carmilla should be sharper and better centered. Only try to improve those two. The rest are bleh.
  5. HELL YES. Even moreso than Mega Man!
  6. I'd say there's a good bet that that one/some of the Belmonts will be in the game (maybe even Dracula! You never know. They did put Gannondorf in SSBM) because I can't help but think that this stage is a Castlevania stage.
  7. As far as shooters go, I'd say timing is fairly important especially if you're doing something like sniping. There really shouldn't be a problem with Smash Bros online. It'll be just like any other game online, if you can find a good server, you'll find a good game. If you find a crap lag server, you'll find a crap game. That's my experience with fighters online DOA4 is a game where (depending if you can counter or not) timing can be critical as well, but it doesn't seem to be too big of a deal. If anything lag tends to give you a defensive advantage if everyone is lagging at the same rate, you get a little more reaction time if you see things coming. But will my connection be okay? Is 300Kbps fast enough for online gaming? Anyway, I'm so excited about the new SSB I made a new wallpaper for my desktop!
  8. Just a slightly off-topic question. I have a DSL connectrion. I plan to have a Wii by the time SSBB is released. My question is: Will my DSL connection be fast enough to play SSBB online with no lag? Verizon says it's 786Kbps, but I know it never reaches that speed. But I did watch the Live E3 Feed at 300Kbps with no problems so I'm wondering if SSBB would be okay on my connection.
  9. I'm glad that SSBB won't use the Wiimote. Even though whole new gameplay could be unlocked, I'd hate to have played SSB for so long just to have to relearn how to play the game.
  10. I can't wait to get my ass beat in online SSB! I'm pretty good, but I know there are people out there who spend a hell of a lot of time training way more than I do! I know there are people on this forum right now who look at the stats in my sig and say "Pfft! That's it?"
  11. I love the scrolling stages. Stages like Big Blue and Poke Floats are so cool and the action is really intense when the stage is part of the challenge. It just makes the battle even more interesting. Think about it. If you want to create a truly dramatic scene, what do you do? Place the characters in as much peril as possible, and what's more perilous than fighting on top of racing hovercrafts at breakneck speeds? Have you seen The Matrix Reloaded? Isn't the highway fight scene freakin awesome?
  12. You are a lucky soul. (I hate MGS)
  13. In-game, the cardboard acts as a portable hiding place. Being followed by guards? No biggie, pop one of these out in an empty storage room and watch the guards go crazy looking for you! It's also a private joke of sorts. Basically, if you moved while they weren't looking, it would be very tough for them to find you. Oh is that what he meant by what does it do? I thought everyone knew that.
  14. Probably a his sheild or a reflect move like Fox and Falco's B-Down. Maybe even a dodge/sidestep?
  15. I'm pretty excited about Pit and MetaKnight more than Snake and Zero Samus. Pit just looks like he'll be a lot of fun to play. And the Kid Icarus stage is sure to be cool too!
  16. No silly. That would be a combo attack like Marth or Roy when you hit the B button at the correct intervals: BOOM-TISS-BOOM-TISS-BOOM-TISS-BOOM-SSSSMMMAASSSHHHH! EDIT--Now that I think about it, that would be pretty sweet! Someone write to Nintendo!
  17. I never get bored of Melee's music. When I'm winning, I even fight to it's beat, it looks cool. The only one that gets on my nerves is the standard Final Destination one, because it's the stage I play in the most. Even the DK rap sounds alright. BTW, I loved the DK rap on DK64. Rare humor FTW. But yes, we all want downloadable content. Especially stages and characters. And if those characters are for free, even better! Like WoW patches or something. I have a whole playlist on my computer of songs I listen to while I Smash. Its a lot better than the same damn songs over and over again.
  18. Doing main theme /= score. He did the same thing for Final Fantasy 12, so expect Hirokazu Ando to return for the rest. Oh, I musta misread. I thought I had read somewhere it wasn't just the main theme he was doing, but all the music for the game. I stand corrected though lol. The only information they've given about the music is that Uematsu wrote the main theme and that an entire orchestra with Latin opera choir will be availible for the entire soundtrack. No details about who exactly will be writing tracks for all parts of the game.
  19. The main theme does seem to be over doing it, but then again, the game itself seems to be pretty grandiose (sp?) as well. Laint opera singing works for Final Fantasy, but not SSB imho. I do believe they will keep the genres pretty much the same for the actual stages (But anyone who has heard the Smashing Live! CD knows that the orchestra version of Big Blue kick some serious ass)
  20. I'm worried about that too. I've always worried about too much complexity ruining the Smash Bros formula, but I trust that they'll handle it correctly.
  21. I dont have any hopes. Uematsu is talented to be sure, but he's not on my top list of video game composers. If it was my choice, I'd love to get some old school composers in on it to get some bad-ass music goin (Ryuji Sasai, Hajime Hirasawa, Koji Kondo)
  22. I WANT DANTE DAMMIT!! Fuckin Snake gets to be in the cool games. Dante gets stuck in lame-ass ones like DMC2 and Nocturn
