Here's a quick sketch of something that I've wanted to do for a while. It'll most likely find its way onto my album as a bonus track or something. This is about an hour or so of work, so it's still under revision.

"he's a pirate, he's a pirate, he's a pirate, he is cool. he's a pirate, he's a pirate, he's a pirate, super cool" and so on
hahaha
now you ruined that song for me forever

Pirates of the Caribbean is great. On the 2nd one, they released 3 remixes of "He's a Pirate" (theme song), which are very enjoyable. Especially "Pete 'n Red's Jolly Roger Radio Edit"

As for soundtracks I've enjoyed:
Ocean's 11, 12 and 13!
Bourne series
Pirates series
the Incredibles
Rocky IV
Matrix 1 and 2
Serenity

Thanks guys.
My blog post on it, already written, will go live tomorrow. Props, Greg. Congratulations!Dang, man, you sure do your homework. I didn't even know who they were playing, and I got the date wrong too.
Cool writeup, appreciate it.

Yeah, I'll post a youtube vid of the intro after the first game on November 2. First time I've had a track of mine played through that large of a venue's sound system; sounds pretty tight if I do say so myself.

Yeah, the Valparaiso University with possibly "the" most famous last second collegiate win in recent history; Bryce Drew hitting the three to beat Ole Miss in the NCAA tourney about ten years back.
Basically, this is how it's going down.
(0:00-:20)
Eerie ambiance sets up for...
(:21-:40)
Lightning strikes (lights go out, strobes flicker, team mascot waves flag at centercourt)
(:41-whenever)
Team comes running out on court, announcing players, etc
(whenever-end)
Me having fun with breaks and schtuff (plays up until tipoff).

I've used these for about a year and haven't had any problems. I believe all the bigwigs at Image-Line use these too, if that means anything.

I have a Linksys router (not wireless) that was working fine with two computers until we lost power in a storm. Apparently it reset it and the modem to factory settings so they don't work together anymore.
I called Verizon and they walked me through a bunch of steps to ensure that the modem was in fact working correctly, tried a few configuration changes, and then directed me to Linksys because the modem and router still weren't working together.
I called Linksys and they informed me it would be a $35 dollar service charge since the router is over a year old. Ugh. Is anyone familiar enough with this stuff that they could walk me through this?

Nice one, man. Sounds great.

This rocks, man. I'll definitely be keeping an eye on this one.

Congratulations.

Japanese, hm? Guess I'll take your word for it.
Thanks for the info.

Apparently one of my youtube videos got posted to a Chinese blog, and I'm kinda curious as to what it (and the comments) say.

Thanks for any help.

Amazing track. One of my favs so far.

Yeah, I tried that; I think I'm just being too picky. They're really not all that bad, I'm realizing.

"Orchestral chimes" in QLSO sound like nice church bells.
Yeah, although they don't go low enough. I did just find a decent sounding bell in this bank: http://www.sf2midi.com/index.php?id=7487&page=sdet

hey audix. How do you make the overtones of a note pan around? I was listening to your pirates song and the note is staying in the same spot but its overtones are going from left to right. Just wondering thanks!
edit: I figured out how to do it but I want to know if this is how you did it. Open formula controller and route the button to a band pass filter and a notch filter of the same Q. Then pan the overtones by twisting the formula controller knob.
Yeah, I use FL. What section of the pirates mix are you referring to? I probably just used a simple panning automation, with one instance of sytrus playing the main synth and another instance filtered panning left to right. Haven't tried that formula controller idea, but it sounds like it would work.

Can't wait to hear the tracks...
even at the cost of bumping my mix down a few notches

sorry double post
Anyone know of a good soundfont or something that is good for church bells?
I was actually wondering the same thing. I'm in need of a good strong bell sound for a project I'm doing now.
