I've always thought it would sound great as a Pirates of the Caribbean-like remix, but I lack the skills to create good-sounding music in that style. Otherwise I would have done it by now.

Actually I don't think SSM has a very widespread appeal. Brawl will be a great game of course, but I don't foresee anyone who's not really a Nintendo fan buying a Wii or anything for it. A lot more people have played Halo 2 than Melee, and I don't think Brawl will change that trend, awesome as it may be.
I know many people who don't like Nintendo and like Super Smash Bros....
A boy that I know, doesn't even still play single player games, since he had Super Smash Bros. Melee....

I've recently been seeing advertisements for 2GB SD cards for $20 US. That should give you some idea of the cost. Considering that's 4x more storage space than the Wii has for half the cost of a controller, I'd say they're more than worth the investment.
The real advantage of an SD card is that you can use your PC to backup everything and the SD to transport files from Wii to PC

Two things can improve this great idea:
1) Mp3s from SD Cards
2) Backgrounds from SD Cards
Maybe this mp3s and backgrounds can't be shared, but it will be good anyway.
I'm sure that many good boys will recreate great levels from games of the past

About the Mario Galaxy Stage....
My favourite boss of Yoshi's Island (Raphael the Raven) was set on a little moon.
I would really like to see something like that for an alternative Yoshi's Island stage...

Maybe Ridley will be boss for the single player mode like petey piranha just a thought. DEDEDE with special waddle Dee throwing move that would make my life complete
I think the only thing that will made us see the Waddle Dees is the DeDeDe entrance...
I don't see why Ridley can't be a playable character. Pikachu is a giant in Melee, and Bowser is a lot smaller than what he should be.I don't know how it will result....we'll see...
Just bring in Dark Samus. She'd be fun to play floating around, shooting phazon all over the place and melting faces.Anything that's from Metroid is good...there is only Samus for now...
Speaking of villains, I've always wondered why some of the F-Zero baddies like Black Shadow, Blood Falcon (Capt. Falcon clone anyone?) or Zoda haven't appeared in Smash. Think about it, they'd make excellent playable characters.Ya, Black Shadow is really cool.
To made all the universes collide in the story thing, there must be at least one enemy per game.

Yeah, if smash has ZSNES style recording (savestate of the start + sequence of inputs + nondeterministics (like which random items appeared)) you could get a TON of video in per unit of file space.
I had the same idea...but I prefer something that in some ways can be converted in a PC format...

I don't think they mean for you to record an entire match, just a bit to showcase moves or a cool KO or a comeback or something.

Man I liked the character-specific break the target stages. Oh well.
The restriction of 3 minutes is probably because of the small size of the wii's storage. If it had a hard drive it wouldn't be much trouble.
Well even a SD card can expand this time if is a memory problem...
I hope they will not constrict us to press rec every 3 minutes in a match.

Anyway I did like this update even though it was not that big a deal. It makes me wish they brought back Donkey Kong in a true platform game like the old DKC series not the garbage they've recently been doing with him.

Well...the DKC series probably will not return but instead we have DK Jungle Beat that is not bad and this Smash that is somewhat similiar...
Maybe one day we'll see back DK, Diddy, Dixie, the Kremlings, K.Rool, and all the strange animals of the DKC series....maybe...
