I use headphones fwi,and I didn't have any crits on the guitars; I said the production might need fixing, because I'm not an expert on production. Anyways, I say submit this after you make drums more interesting, get a better pad and whatever else the pro's have to say.

oddly that's one of my least favorite tracks, but it's also a pretty simple one. I think I might tackle that lol. As for your 3 favorites, i love em, but not feeling anything from em - plus they're beyond my limited skill =p

why the lack of comments here?? Granted this is somewhat cover-ish at the beginning...still wow this is an awesome remix. Nostalgic points abound I like the change of tempos...the backing pad is kinda annoying, you may want to give it something more texture and edge, instead of a weird buzzy sound - maybe its just personal preference, but I say change that up 2:06 is an awesome change up. I don't think you have to alter too much on your track too much. I don't know much about rock/metal production, so you may wanna ask fishy or Willrock regarding that. Good work, over all

ooo side-chaining. Sexy. However, it feels a tad weird with the lead melody. Maybe make the lead gated and/or something with OOMph? Also noticed a bit of dissonance at the last 4-5 notes of the lead at 0:49-51. Yeah this needs to pick up into high gear - i.e. build in heavier drums. There could be a way to pull this off with the sparse feeling, but I think you'd need to upgrade your whole sample set. So it'd probably be safer to go in with a thicker soundscape, more texture and moar drums. Progression wise, it's a bit stale, you can easily find ways to change it up without losing focus - that's the good thing about this wip being sparse. Lots of wiggle room to try new things and add in different ideas

This thread should be locked. I'm not really willing to work on this track anymore, especially since there's too many crits to sift through and too much to alter - not to mention that I'm feeling pretty sick on top of that.

Well I tried to change things up - but I ended up drawing blanks for almost 2 hours - no real decent ideas took hold. This track has grown old on me...but has lasted longer than a lot of my other half-assed ideas. I might go back to it later. Anyways, I'll keep the files hosted for a while longer for ppl to DL. Thanks for your comments everyone!

Sorry about the 2x post... Alright.. so what I'm gonna do is actually un-do what I did on the last update and re-evaluate ever1's crits and re-try it. Don't expect the next update to be great though, because I feel that I'm a bit over my head with this new set of crits.

Or...you can "trick" me into collabing with you On a serious note; I like your crits and agree that my track does feel that it's sort of falling apart. I'm a crappy learner and often need some1 to kinda watch over my shoulder and guide me along. That's one reason why doing this music stuff over the internet doesn't always benefit me. I mean, it took me 3 years or so to finally see what you guys were trying to tell me =p might take me another year or 2 before I can finally get something that the J's will like. With that being said, I intend to keep on plugging away at this mix until A) I get soooo incredibly sick of it i'll puke just by turning on the flp. life decides to be a bitch again and I'm unable to keep up with my debt C) Both A and B. I'm not sure I'm following you on the rhythm thing, but I get your second crit. I can definitely find some form of melody to make it more interesting at the 2:58-3:15 segment. Can you clarify your first crit a bit more? Sorry I'm pretty nubby at breaking down music theory myself =p And thx for critting ^^

Idk why no1 bothered to crit this... =p it's pretty good imo; not sure about the production quality; but composition, wise I like this a lot. I think this track just needs more beefing up and some reverb touches as it sorta feels like it's playiing from inside a box at parts. Love the percussion and rhythm guitar work...oooh choir at 2:10 ish...+1 for that Love the changes of flow and the dynamics all around...the arpreggios in the background are sexy too. I'm thinking that the drums could be a bit tighter at 2:50 - seem a tad off tempo, unless thats the intent. Lovely break down at 3:10 - very beautiful. The return to the heavy parts kinda reminds me of Kefka's theme somehow lol. The rest is golden too. BTW, next time, host your files on something like tindeck or mediafire - cuz youtube's quality is kinda poop-ish and its hard to tell if the production quality is on par or not. There should be a law that prohibits unfinished epic remixes. Cuz this track is so...good =p it shouldn't be that hard for u to finish Robotaki. All you really need to do is add at least another 1:20 to it or so and this will be golden

It's not a sequel - TA:K just used a similar engine and RTS concept.

I do not intend to change my bass samples as of yet, since it took me a helluva long time just to find the right combination of sounds and filter effects...I don't want to risk undoing that work haha. As for the EQ/production issue itself it's probably a matter of tightening up my frequencies...also I realized that I did this entire thing without a master limiter...kinda amazed that my track didn't explode with clipping issues. And thanks for sticking around the entire time Hewo . You're a gentleman and a scholar. If you need me to help or even collab, lemme know

Well this is interesting in both a good and bad way. I definitely recognize the source here. This is good in that it's generally striving to not sound like your said generic electronic genre, but... The bad is that it's kinda meandering and sparse. I started off that way myself - way worse actually. lol. Anyhoo, the best thing to make this track better is to make it build up gradually - make it evolve without losing the original feel. Production and otherwise is alright, but you should worry about the composition first and foremost I'm a little dissapointed at the lack of responses on this thread here. I mean its TA:K ppl...gosh you all a bunch of sissy Final Fantasy fanboys or something??
