  1. Actually, at LEAST 10-15 rounds ago, I moved to a 2 week model and am usually pretty strict about it, other than the occasional extension. Or two (AT THE MOST). I haven't really been comparing the deadlines, but if everyone thinks that Bundaslang and I should stagger the due dates, then I'm open. Back to the previous tangent, I know that a 3-4 week long round is generally speaking too long, which I think Supercoolmike and someone else had pointed out a while back. Also... I will have to get more involved in PRC somehow - if anything it'd inspire me to get off my ass and actually remix something - I don't wish to see PRC going extinct T_T

  3. Hmm some interesting input. I may consider implementing some of what DJ Mokram and Bundeslang posited, espoused and suggested - variations of the same thing, I know. *sips tea* - I'll see how Bundaslang fares and what other people suggest/tell me to do. Ride the tide, as they say. But for now, I'm okay with sticking to ThaSauce. Hopefully PRC will get more participation. I might have to hop in and participate myself - I really appreciate what you do for the compo scene Bundaslang and for helping to keep it alive
  4. Hahahaha. If you guys ask me, I'm okay with 2-3 participants per round personally. Means less vote tallying. Still, having 4-5 participants is pretty awesome and makes me feel more relevant in the community (T_T). More than 5 gets a bit out of hand, though. These ideas seem pretty sound Looking forward to seeing you back in the compo scene Dj Mokram!
  5. Quite an interesting tale and yes I do recall that conversation - keep that inspirational fire going, dood. Looking forward to seeing your entry
  6. Got lots of good memories of bomberman 64 too - had a wicked single player mode too, surprisingly.
  7. Compo: MnP (Meat 'n Potatoes) Round 64: Bomberman 64 - Green Gardens Midi: http://compo.thasauce.net/rounds/view/MnP64 Youtube: Deadline: Nov 30 Wed 1PM Vote Ends: Dec 2 Fri 11 PM MnP ARCHIVE - made by Trism Submit your remix Here when completed. **If you have technical difficulty with account activation at ThaSauce, please contact me via PM and I will submit your track and will also tally your vote** MISSION STATEMENT The goal of Compo:MnP is to promote that "meat and potatoes" conservative approach to remixing: this includes the mood and composition of source tunes. It is up to the remixer to create their own personalization, or to simply give it a sound upgrade. Moreover, the compo is a great opportunity to hone your remixing skills and give video game music the respect that is due. SOME reinterpretation is recommended, but not required. MnP Instructions/Guidelines 1. Covers and Sound Upgrades are permitted. 2. Most or all of the source notes must be present (but not necessarily in the exact same order), secondly the mood (energy, pacing, feelings being conveyed etc) should also be retained. For example, a source tune that is fast-paced and energetic that's remixed into a mellow/chill-out theme would be a hard sell. 3. If you decide to do a genre swap (i.e. symphonic to techno), make sure that the conditions of #2 are met. 4. Submissions must be at a maximum of 20mb (keeping in step with ThaSauce's file size max). 5. Only 1 entry per participant. Previous winner cannot participate but can submit a BONUS entry. 6. All competitors and voters must adhere to the rules stated within: Competition Code and Conduct MISC/TIPS - When picking a source tune, make sure it has a MIDI to make ppl's lives easier. - In-game sound FX are permitted, so long as they don't comprise the whole track (i.e. replacing entire MIDI tracks with just sfx)
  8. Okay, so round is over. Comments: Starpheonix: "Technology Revisited" - a very suave, well-produced and groovy remix, befitting its source tune. And nice work with fixing the stuff that was incorrect in the MIDI. Zorrakh: "Gettin' High on Rails" - Nice geetar work. Jiving synths and cool filter fx. Drums are well made and balanced as well. Didn't really check to see if it was conservative or not, but "Gettin' High on Rails" is a BONUS, so it doesn't really matter if it fits that criteria - I found this remix very enjoyable.
  9. Good point Starpheonix. Looks like I am ending this round in 15 mins. If no entry shows up, then I'll pick us something for round 64. Probably something from the N64 with the 64 vibe of 64ness.
  10. Nice. Couldn't figure out how to do those things. That takes real music chops
  11. Looks like I'm the only eligible entry so far. Do you guys think I should pick the source for next round, or extend for another 2 days?
  12. remember to put in (BONUS) on title and *Do not vote* in the comments.
  13. Wow totally didn't monitor this one properly. Gonna have to extend round 63 for another 2 days. Deadline: Nov 15th Tues 1 PM Vote Ends: Nov 17th Thurs 11 PM
  14. Well I saw a top 10 of best super metroid exploits so I guess that counts. May as well watch the real thing someday edit @ Gario, I don't doubt that; hope it works out for ya lol.
  15. Yeah I use the super missiles, but it's still a pain to bypass that stupid hole, as the rock regenerates quickly lol. Still manage to do it, just takes like 15 tries I've tried the varia suit skip-trick but didn't get too far...maybe I will do that - plasma on Kraid would be pretty roflstomp. Too bad you can't use Plasma on Phantoom and Draygon though (but the grapple-hook trick on the latter is a hilarious result lol).
  16. Yeah, totally lol. Also, I'm pretty good at wall jumping. I wall-jump to grab a few powerups early, like the wave beam and sometimes the power bomb (but man shooting that TINY block at the top of the Red-Brinstar Hallway with those geemers AND wall jumping thru it is tough AF lol!)

  18. Yeahhhh totally missed that too. I often switch that beam off cuz it means I have to shoot my enemies twice haha. <---lazy
  19. Results Starphoenix & Zorakh TIED for 1st with 19 points. APZX got 2nd with 10 points HoboKa got last with 9 points. Starphoenix and Zorakh please pm me for round 63 Comments Holy crap...this must be the 3rd or 4th tie in the history of MnP. EDIT Also, I've given up on the idea of a back-to-back Howlowe'en-MNP-month. I didn't plan this out right as we're now at the 29th lol. I mean, if you guys WANT to pick something spooky, that is fine by me, but it isn't a necessity.
  20. Forgot to add a comment for Esperado's Bonus. So I'll do it now. 11/10 super sexy; if "Freezecannon" had a physical manifestation I'd take it out for dinner and do to it like they do on the discovery channel. It is a feast for the ears with a vibrant atmosphere and tons of reverby love.

  22. I REALLY had no creativity other than the soundscape going on. IDK some weeks or even months, my brain just refuses to cooperate with my heart. =p EDIT but other than the exact opposite of self aggrandizement, I do really appreciate the feedback. Next time, though, save it for the voting stage please
