It is up to the remixer to create their own personalization, or to simply give it a sound upgrade. Moreover, the compo is a great opportunity to hone your remixing skills and give video game music the respect that is due. SOME reinterpretation is recommended, but not required. MnP Instructions/Guidelines 1. Covers and Sound Upgrades are permitted. 2. Most or all of the source notes must be present (but not necessarily in the exact same order), secondly the mood (energy, pacing, feelings being conveyed etc) should also be retained. For example, a source tune that is fast-paced and energetic that's remixed into a mellow/chill-out theme would be a hard sell. 3. If you decide to do a genre swap (i.e. symphonic to techno), make sure that the conditions of #2 are met. 4. Submissions must be at a maximum of 20mb (keeping in step with ThaSauce's file size max). 5. Only 1 entry per participant. Previous winner cannot participate but can submit a BONUS entry. 6. All competitors and voters must adhere to the rules stated within: Competition Code and Conduct MISC/TIPS - When picking a source tune, make sure it has a MIDI to make ppl's lives easier. - In-game sound FX are permitted, so long as they don't comprise the whole track (i.e. replacing entire MIDI tracks with just sfx)

Alright, we have a winner: Esperado, pm me for the next round. 57 I believe. I think Elementary Starbage is actually really good. Lots of cool percussion, a kick ass pad/choir background and nifty effects. It does end abruptly, but that's a moot point really. The guitar is a nice addition too. It's a shame there wasn't more participants as both sources were pretty solid. I've been in a slump the past 2 weeks so I couldn't get off my ass to be productive, alas.

Whew no one pointed out that I forgot to add MnP 56 to the next round's title. Anyways, in case people weren't aware, here's the next round.

Actually participated in PRC after what...almost 2 years?? Correct me if I'm wrong Bundeslang. It feels good to be back though (I submitted goyz)

EDIT - proper explanation I chose not to add Kapden's source tune, as it didn't have a MIDI tune, and he didn't have the time/inclination to dig up another source tune that did have a MIDI. With 2 other source tunes competing for attention (and having MIDI files), it'd be extremely tough for Kapden's source tune to get its due representation. Sorry for coming off as misleading. I oft do not do proper engrish or thinking things through before hitting that send button.

This is a game I still need to play!! Arg. Well maybe I'll give this source tune a whirl this weekend.
