I don't discriminate based on who's remixing - it's all about the quality of the mix itself. If you're a beginning remixer, it's unlikely that you'll be able to make something up to the quality bar (just listen to the songs that get posted everyday on OCRemix to get an idea for what I'm going for) but it's worth a shot

It's just a placeholder so I can just fill in the artist name when someone DOES claim them. The links you see are for Youtube videos.

Ok, so, halc's got 2 WAVs and a WIP, GSlicer's got a WAV and 2 silver WIPs, and Theophany's got 3 silver WIPs. Where the rest of you at?
Actually, I've been getting a fair amount of updates lately. I've gotten songs from:
- Theophany
- halc & Another Soundscape
- The Vagrance
- OA
- ilp0
- Josh Whelchel
You guys are cool <3 Much love.
As for the rest of the project, I wanted to let you all know that The Maverickk has something INSANELY awesome and unique lined up for that. Some of you know what it is, but soon he should be making a post on the private forums soon enough to put it all into detail.
And thanks for those of you still expressing your interest in the project, I thrive off of that stuff and I think the project as a whole does better when everyone's excited to hear the outcome. So, here's the deal - when I get 20 WAVs in total, I'll throw out an extended preview twice as long as the last one! So, bug whoever you need to to make this happen - if all the people who are currently sitting at Silver status turned their songs in, we'd only need 1 more WAV to reach that goal. In addition, if the time is right, I might reveal another secret I've been keeping up my sleeve about the project, but no promises there. We'll just have to wait and see on that one

Happy birthday Willrock!
Now get to your DKC3 track!
I'm Emunator and I approve this message!
Happy birthday you crazy limey bastard! You fill my heart with ANIMOOOOOSSSIIITTTYYYYYY!!

Submit this man, best of luck with the panel!

One more thing - on repeat listens, the initial drumroll seems overly short, I think that could be stretched out with a few hits and sound a bit more natural.

This is pretty cool I loooooove the really powerful synth that 1:26, that's the highlight of the song for me. In general, the song is very well composed. The little string/bell embellishments were wonderful and gave a nice cinematic quality to the mix. The song overall has a very intense quality to it that I just love. And, of course, Stevo's guitar is incredibly badass! The drums feel a little bit weak in the writing, but you gave it a good, honest effort and I think what you've got should suffice and doesn't really bring the song down as a whole. If you can touch it up to humanize it a bit, it wouldn't be a bad thing by any means! Source usage seems to check out - it's a bit conservative but I think you made it your own sufficiently.
The mixing isn't perfect, there's some elements (the bells and the strings) that get a bit harsh in the high frequencies, and there's some times where the guitar feels a bit washed out and difficult to hear. Maybe bring the lead guitar forward a bit at times.
However, all things considered I think this has a good chance against the panel. I can't say it's a guaranteed pass but regardless, it's something that I'll be listening to for a while once you post a finalized version. Killer work!

Gonna hold off on the Mod Review until you can clarify which version you want judged - yours, Stevo's, or something updated. Just wanted to let you know that I noticed this and will get to it as soon as you decide which version you want me to look at!

Totally brilliant. I've always thought this was your best arrangement out of all the ones you have on Youtube - the instrumentals are fantastic and compliment the vocals perfectly. I don't really know how else to describe it, but it's a joy to see this come up on the front page and get even more attention that it deserves.

Not my work, apparently this one's credited to "gogetails22122." Sounds like exactly what you were asking for though.

Never knew just how much musical diversity and talent DCT had in him before this song Great contribution to the OCR library, I loved this when I heard it on your site and I still love it now!

This is a solid mix dude, it's a huge improvement over anything else I've heard from you. Overall, nice meshing soundscape, the only issue I have is the drumkit doesn't necessarily fit with everything else. Use some industrial 'crashing' percussion or some woodblocks to give some character to the beat
Should be submittable if you fix up the drums, though the arrangement might not fly due to conservativeness. Nonetheless, I urge others to take a listen to this, it's a good one!

Holy crap, you got an excellent lineup for this! Nice work!

Just giving you an update that I'll very likely be there in August If all goes according to plan, I'll be carpooling and roomsharing with Jakesnke17 and possibly some others.
I'm so excited for this!

If you don't think the song is finished, then you prolly shouldn't be using the Mod Review tag. That's just for when your song is finished and ready to be submitted.
However, since it's tagged I'll throw you some cursory feedback on the arrangement that you've got thus far. The bass is a neat idea, but as has been said it grates on you after a while and needs some changing up, and eventually needs to get pushed back a bit to let some other elements of the song take focus. Basically, the big problem here is a lack of subtlety with your sounds; everything is up-front and very abrasive - either EQ some of the treble down on your instruments or pick some different synths that are a bit less aggressive.
That said, I love any source from Mario Galaxy so I think this has some potential, just keep refining it and give it a more subtle sound while still keeping that energetic edge. Good luck!

So, status update: it's been almost a month since my last post and I've only gotten 4 updated WIPs... and 3 of them have been from Theophany (with 2 of them being just a hair's length away from WAV status.) So, thanks to him for his dedicated work on the project - the rest of you, I'd really like to start seeing some updates soon! The deadline is still far off but some of you haven't even turned in enough to meet the last deadline, so if you've been working but haven't turned in a WIP yet, get me something or at least let me know that you've got progress.
I know pretty much every project's been in a slump lately, but let's try to kick things back into gear! It's been too long without the normal level of progress

I tried to find you an 8-bit cake, but I got distracted on Google images so instead, here's some...
chiptunnaaaaaaa~
*ducks*
You're the best dude, I hope you have an amazing day!

I still don't think this mix is super-conservative - in fact I'm having a hard time picking out the source here. I personally wish the most dominant melody from the original (the one that you brought in at the very end of the song) was more prevalent just because that's the melody that I associate with this source.
That said, this is your best remix, in my personal opinion. The ambiance is just right and the drumloops really complement it great. What really pushes this one over the edge is the tone of the guitar you used in the solo - it's very reminiscent of the stuff that Skrypnyk used in his album Suburbia which is one of my favorite ambient albums. You captured that essence beautifully even though I'm pretty sure you weren't directly trying to emulate that style
I think you could take a few pointers from this remix and apply it to your other songs; there's times where I feel like you're picking overly generic synths for your electronic songs but I don't feel like you fell into that pitfall in this case. All the sounds mesh well and it all sounds fresh and unique. I'd like to see more of that incorporated into future songs by you!
In short, niiiice work Love this one a lot!

Who's coming up from the Mesa/Phoenix area for this? I'm interested in going but I'm not going to have transportation of my own come August. I'm 18, so if I end up bumming a ride, I'd prefer to carpool with people relatively close to my age (within 4 or 5 years maybe) if it's possible

What they really need to do is bring back those mini webisodes and provide some closure on some of the smaller mysteries that would be nice to know about, but would seem out of place in a regular episode. I always thought that medium was underutilized.
Beautiful finale, though. I wasn't expecting something like that at all but they handled it beautifully. From a character development standpoint, everything wrapped up full-circle.

Can we integrate something onto the Album reference page (such as this: http://ocremix.org/album/3/super-metroid-relics-of-the-chozo) that shows which remixes from the album have been posted? Those pages look sort of crowded but if the album associations are already in the database, it shouldn't logistically be too difficult to implement, right?
Thanks for this!

Mazedude made a mix of this song for this album, but you've gotta pay for it. The album is well worth it though

You already changed this one from Mod Review, but I just wanted to say that this is awesome and should have no problem passing the panel. If I had to nitpick, the drumloop that you repeatedly use during the breakdown and again after that with the the snare hits gets a little grating, and I wouldn't mind seeing that change up a bit (I can get you a timestamp if you don't know which one I'm talking about) but ehh, if you've already called it finished I don't think it's a dealbreaker by any means
Nice work bro!
