  1. Whoo! Got my CDs in today! FF1, FFIV, FFVI, FFVII, and Sonic. Sweeeeeeet.
  2. Man, you just convinced me to up my contribution to $100. More than I usually spend, but then again, this is one-of-a-kind stuff, and it's hard to beat the value. I mean, FFI, IV, VI, VII, and Sonic? Good grief. You guys are great.
  3. First time I've kickstarted anything. But the idea of getting a physical album, plus getting one for FFVII as well (looks like the stretch goal is going to get hit easily) is just too much to pass up. I'm in at $50.
  4. This. Was. Amazing. Seriously, I already love the source material, but this is just such an epic take on it, I couldn't help but be moved by it. Definitely looking forward to future submissions!
  5. I'm definitely not as musically inclined as most here, especially when it comes to the technical aspects of music. All the feedback I can really give is that I'm really enjoying this mix. And there were quite a few mixes from 2003-2004 OCRemix that I still listen to, so there. Keep it up, great stuff.
  6. 1.) Bill Rizer (Contra) 2.) Kefka (FFVI) 3.) Nathan "Rad" Spencer (Bionic Commando)
  7. I'm detecting a bit of a Streets of Rage vibe here. Awesome stuff. Ever thought of tackling a few more tunes from that series?
  8. Awesome work, guys and gals. Been waiting on this one for a while, and it's nice to see this one came together so well. From those of us incapable of remixing due to lack of time or talent, thanks for all the hard work!
  9. I wouldn't even have a 360 if it weren't for having to save for a vehicle for two years, and then get something substantially cheaper, which freed me, among other things, to splurge on an HDTV and use the subsequent gift card on a 360. But yeah, Vesperia is awesome. My brother is about 30 hours in. So you know what that means... cue Red Ring of Death! 'tis okay, had a replacement plan from Best Buy, and managed to upgrade to an Elite in the process. And get the save data. I'm really looking forward to the completion of this project, I know you guys and gals have worked hard on this for a long time. All us non-musical types really appreciate it.
  10. I've been listening to this mix for a while now, and I'm incredibly impressed with this one. I distinctly remember how cool I thought it was the first time I listened. It literally drew a "Aww, HECK yeah!" from me. Sixto, keep up the great work. You're definitely one of the most talented guitarists out there. Thumbs way, WAY up.
  11. Nothing wrong with an honorary degree. It's not like they're going to use it, and it's one of the ways that the university can honor the students. I'm sure there will be memorials as well, but the funding for that will probably come from a private contribution. In any case, it's totally senseless, and I can also understand how students would not be able to concentrate at this point. If it had happened here, I'm pretty sure the rest of my semester would be up in flames. I'm also sure that some people may use this as a gun control platform, but one has to think that they'd have had a better chance had one of them been armed. And I have a feeling that as deranged as this guy was, he would have obtained a gun even if they were all illegal. Perhaps better information integration about past history would help, although that's not an easy fix, either.
  12. Incredible stuff. I almost know that anything zircon does is gold. This did not fail to deliver. To be honest, I generally dislike Mario remixes. The music is good in and of itself, in a light and airy way, but this takes one of the more sinister themes, and kicks it up about ten notches. Great synths, but even the guitars are well placed. It almost sounds like a Castlevania remix when the organs kick in. For me, that's a GOOD thing. Kind of ironic, then, that the last Castlevania mix is of DDR proportions. But I digress. Keep up the great work. This is my only source of VG Remixes until the next DOD, which isn't for another 3 weeks, so quality releases like this really help pass the time, and keep workplace-music boredom from setting in. Sarge out.
  13. Please, don't tease us like that. I KNOW how good Snappleman's stuff is. It seems like he wins over at DOD almost all the time, and every track he did in Project: Chaos was gold. Someone needs to leak his version of Fighting of the Spirit. Y'all keep up the great work. I couldn't compose to save my life, but I knows good music when I hear it, and I'm really looking forward to this project reaching completion. Sarge out.
  14. Dragon Warrior 2 was much better than Dragon Warrior. Dragon Warrior 3 and 4 were better than Dragon Warrior 2. Dragon Quest 6 was better than Dragon Quest 5. Also, Shadow Hearts: Covenant IS much better than Shadow Hearts. Haven't finished the first, have finished the second, so that speaks volumes for me. Tecmo Super Bowl was better than Tecmo Bowl. Mega Man 2 was better than Mega Man. It was NOT, in my opinion, bested by 3. My favorites in that series were 2 and 5. There's almost a trilogy aspect going there, with the pre- and post-charge shot era of the original NES games. The second in those sets were the best to me. Thanks to whoever said Link's Awakening beat Link to the Past! Star Ocean 2 was better than Star Ocean. Lufia 2, heck yeah! WAAAAAY better than the first. Breath of Fire 4 was better than BOF3. Castlevania 2 was better than Castlevania. Dawn of Sorrow was better than Aria of Sorrow. Dodanpachi was better than Donpachi. Capcom vs. SNK 2 was better than CvS. Ditto for MvC2. I'm sure there's some good ones I'm leaving out, and some of these have probably already been mentioned. Sarge out.
  15. Don't forget that most towns have a healing pool that brings your characters back to life. You can't know if it's the right one until you check. For example, in the first town, the pools on the left and right in the elder's house have different functions. Basically, if you use too many Phoenix Downs, restart, regardless. I haven't come across anywhere that sells them yet, and I'm at the surface. Out of curiosity, what classes is everyone using? I was horribly uncreative and had a Warrior, Monk, BM, and WM. In retrospect, the BM has been virtually worthless except for the magic stat (I have leveraged elemental weaknesses in boss fights to great effect), and probably should have gone with a RM instead. But right before Salonia, I'm using a Dark Knight, Monk, WM, and Evoker. It takes forever to get the Monk powerful, but dang, do they EVER get powerful. Can't wait to upgrade to Black Belt. Anyway, the game is definitely as good as I remember playing on the NES. Pure old-school, and sometimes that's all you need. Sarge out.
  16. Very, very nice. I've enjoyed all your other mixes, and had a feeling that despite my unfamiliarity with the source material, this would rock. And it does. The synths at the start, and the one that pervades the background, are awesome. But when the guitar comes in for the last run at 2:53, that sealed the deal for me. Just have good speakers set up to listen! Great, great stuff. Keep it up! Sarge out.
  17. Okay, I thought it was freakin' incredible. Maybe it's because I'm not exactly a normal connoiseur of music, and the extent of my music knowledge was high school band, but I really enjoyed it for the ambience, not to mention the retro-groove. Can't wait for Ninja Gaiden for the XBox. Makes me happy I own one. Sarge out.
  18. Very catchy. Sounds a lot like the sample set from WinGroove, though. Sarge
