Well I was going to try "hacking" some vocals....although downloading is probably easier. In any case, I'm not going to do it if I can't release the song, even for free, without fear of getting busted. Is there any way to get some (preferably free) legal vocal tracks? I searched google, but I don't know what to look for. Like the vocals from BT songs. Are those still around?

Legal under US law. I'm not as scared of OCR coming after me. It would not be something submitted to this site. It would be a remix of a non-video game song. I figured it would be illegal but I thought I'd ask. I have a remix SGX did of one of BT's songs and he used the original vocals, so it got me curious. Yoozer, what downloaded material are you referring to?

I see. Now that I think about it, it makes sense that they can't export a zipped flp like the rest of us...otherwise that would be an interesting loophole in the program. The feedback people give is indeed great. Makes it seem more worthwhile that way as opposed to just voting and not writing anything extra. For the next theme, I was thinking we could show Kirby's Block Ball some love. Music from that game has gotten stuck in my head on more than one occasion. Awesome game too. I've got some samples ready to go as well. Should I email them to someone to take care of the uploading or what?

Cool. Seems I made it somewhere on everyone's list (by the way, did my votes get counted?). I wasn't sure if I should have looped it or just cut it off after the first go around, because I ran out of time and couldn't come up with anything new. As everyone noticed, I decided to loop it. I would prefer if the competitors didn't vote, but if hardly anyone votes to begin with, I suppose any vote is a good one.

Rendering mode notify for K2? That's only for rendering though, isn't it? Also, is there a way to send midi outs to separate mixer channels?

Just put the .dll file in FL's VST folder. Go to channels > add one> more > refresh and it should show up.

Some of my VSTi plugins don't seem to work very well with FL and I was curious as to whether this is my fault for not having something configured properly, or if it is something that IL has to deal with. About half of the plugins I've used can't be automated (via the "last tweaked parameter" option), don't respond to velocity/panning/etc changes in the piano roll, move knobs and sliders to zero when playing back a song, and probably some other things I can't remember right now. Kontakt2 enjoys not even playing half the notes I give it. Is this a problem for anyone else?

Well...that's slightly disappointing. It does look like an excellent plugin, but I've been looking for some high quality one-shots to add to my collection. Are there any sample sets that offer even remotely close to the variety RMX does but without the emphasis on loops?

LAME is integrated into FL by default and produces fairly good mp3s from my experience.

Is this recommended for someone who likes to program their own drums? I understand there is some sort of 'kit mode', but I am unfamiliar with how it works.

Alright, so it's a surefire that I'm getting a new computer. Parts are on the way as I type this. Getting an e6600 and will hopefully clock it up to 3.6GHz....but I'll have to see how that goes when the time comes. So does the Emu 0404 come in firewire flavor? I looked around and only saw PCI and USB, so I'm assuming no. Also, is it recommended to have a completely separate hard drive dedicated to samples and such, or can I just load them onto a 500 gig storage tanker and get similar results? I'm already getting three hard drives as it is, so another might be overkill. It's probably worth noting that two will be set up in RAID 0, which may aid in performance if I put samples in that setup.
