  1. It was a pretty good adaptation, I thought. I was worried friends we had brought along who hadn't read the comic would be confused, but they seemed to enjoy it quite a bit.

I didn't like how the ending felt rushed, or how Rorschach sounded like Batman, or how a good chunk of the movie was filmed in super slo mo vision. Still, it could have been much, much worse, and it's about as good an adaptation to film as we can probably get.

  2. I love Lost. Seasons 2 and 3 kinda dipped in quality for me, but they had enough moments of awesome to keep me interested. Season 4 was just incredible. Season 5 is pretty great so far; though, I'm not a fan of talking about it with people unfamiliar with the show. When we mentioned the time jumps to a friend who stopped after Season 1, he sorta laughed. I mean, can you blame him?

I'm still liking it though. Super excited for tonight from the title alone. :D

  3. Playing earthbound on ZSNES for the first time in middle school. Getting halfway through giygas's fight, then having to go to school, I left the emulator running. (I did not know what savestates were.) When I got home, the window was closed. ]:

Also, playing Sonic 2, going to the 2-player game, going into casino night zone by myself and playin' them slot machines forever.

  4. For a beta I think it's pretty solid. There are some issues, like the auto-suicide spawn point thing, and like it was mentioned up there the movement is kinda sticky at points (especially in vents and things). But overall, it's pretty neato and I'm liking it. I am very happy the control is a map.

Also one other thing I'm not a fan of is how it seems like sound effects stop right when you die? Maybe that's just my computer, but when you can't hear the bullets that shot you or the mine that blew you up it's pretty disconcerting, for me at least. It always feels like "oh well hey I died I guess"?

    Overall, though, pretty great.

  5. So, every January for a while now, this guy named John Campbell has been making Hourly Comics. Every hour he is awake, he makes a comic describing something that happened in the hour! It is pretty neat and you can read it here.

On Feb 1st, though, he invites everybody ever to join him in his hourly comic activities, on Hourly Comic Day! All sorts of people join him and then post them all in a forum the next day! There is a writeup about it here. Anybody can partake, regardless of artistic skill: if you are awake on Feb. 1st, you are automatically eligible to participate.

I've been reading this guy's comics for a while now, so I thought I'd spread the word around for Hourly Comic Day as much as I could this year. It's a fun little thing to do.

    Enjoy!

  6. I always enjoyed Sonic Adventure 2 Battle, much to everybody's confusion (including my own.)

The tails/eggman levels are mindlessly easy and I liked blowing stuff up. The sonic/shadow levels were the funnest. And the knuckles/rouge levels I actually liked, but that's because I have each level memorized because of the fact that I played this game way too much way back in the day.
