  1. Herbie Hancock now what are you doing here

Okay, so at around 1:50 everything starts sounding very cluttered and stuff. That hihat or whatever sample is seriously cluttering things and annoying. Before you had a nice groove going which personally I was diggin' quite a bit, though it was REALLY repetitive, the arrangement is more or less a cover, and it had some seriously not great samples, which is usually something really bad. The problem is that the repetitivity and the bad sample-itude actually kind of sort of adds to it? I have no idea if that was intentional on your part or not. It definitely would not fly with the judges: super conservative arrangement, meh samples.

These are the main problems until 1:50 - ish, where you don't reference the source ever, and everything is very cluttered and boring and repetitive. It loses the groove of before and just starts gettin' annoying. Especially that ever present guitar. It is just not interesting at all after that point.

Given that to most it likely wouldn't even be that interesting before then, you may want to do some serious overhaulin' if you wanna make this passable.

  2. I loved Kazooie, and Tooie even moreso, because of how retardedly huge everything was. Kazooie got on my nerves with the note collecting, and how if you died, you lost all the notes you'd collected in that level. But with Tooie they let you keep the notes you collected FOREVER, and that made my life fifty times easier.

I am kind of excited about this, but also I am worried it'll not be anywhere near the awesome of the first two. And it probably won't be.

But as long as they keep the super-awesome-orchestra-synth boss musics, I'm down.

  3. Franchises that attempt to go back to their roots will never be able to fully replicate the actual feeling of playing the actual "classic" games of their franchise. This is because they are not actually the classic games themselves.

And orange juice won't feel exactly like eating a real orange. Does this mean we should feel ripped off by the orange juice? Nope. Orange juice may not be the same as eating an orange but it still tastes good. Anyone who refuses to drink orange juice on the grounds that it is not the same as an orange is an idiot.

And if you want an orange, eat an orange. And if you want some Super Mario Galaxy, play some Super Mario Galaxy, and if you want some Super Mario Bros, play some Super Mario Bros.

I have no idea how well this analogy worked but OH WELL

  4. i am probably the only one who loves the 3D sonic soundtracks.

I like them too! Biolizard's music is awesome and I ended up humming knuckle's rap songs way more than I should have. Lots of it was good and catchy stuff. And I loved Gamma's theme in SA1.

  5. THANK YOU for remixing this song at all, first of all.

Now, that said, the production is not that great in this? It sounds all cluttered and there are bits where it goes all crackley, which sounds baaad. Don't know if that's the newgrounds player or what, but if it ain't, fix it!

The arrangement is conservative as all get go; you basically removed a whole lot except the melody and the chords accompanying it and added a couple of other things. This sounds actually quite good, because Zero Two is so sexy that it's hard to arrange it while keeping the original sexiness intact. (I have considering remixing this song but have not for this reason.) BUT as a result of these things, a) it is pretty much a note for note cover of the original and B) it doesn't go anywhere.

So basically it sets a sad mood but it keeps that exact same level of sad through the entire thing. We don't get more sad as it goes on, we get the same level of just general "D:" Build it up to something is my suggestion for this.

Again, thank you for remixing zero two it is the best kirby song thank you thank you

  6. Because the bastard is good? He's a beast when played right.

But that is the thing; I do not do that. My strategy is throw waddle dees and hope for the best. Also mechanical hammer. This has been working out okay for me.

But someone reeaaaally needs to explain to me how the dang his up+B works. PLEASE MOVE HORIZONTALLY DEDEDE AT ALL THAT WOULD BE NICE oh okay, you did. Well that's cool, let's do that again wait no THAT IS GOING STRAIGHT UP AND DOWN INTO THE ABYSS THIS IS THE EXACT OPPOSITE OF RECOVERY RAAAAAAAAAAAA

Also! Game and Watch is currently my main and Rob and Olimar are my secondary character guys. I have been experimenting also however with Ice Climbers, Dedede, Zero Suit Samus and also Wario and Lucas. And Snake and Sonic as well I am liking. I'm also pretty good with Meta Knight but saying you are best with Meta Knight is like saying you are a chef because you can microwave popcorn.

  7. I'm ashamed to admit it but I never really listened to a lot of McVaffe's stuff, but what I did listen to was good/awesome.

Also I've never played Okami, even though I have heard many amazings about it I do not have a PS2 unfortunately.

That said, this song is pretty much beautiful and amazing and beautiful and it makes me want to go back and download all of McVaffe's songs to listen to them. When I really really like a song I am bad at describing it because most all that comes out is just YES AMAZING YES AMAZING YES. It is very serene and yes amazing.

    Welcome back!

  8. I liked the sonic advance games a whole dang lot. SA2 was my least favorite because for the most part the levels were HOLD RIGHT, OKAY HOLD RIGHT, JUMP, KEEP HOLDING RIGHT but it was still fun times.

And I liked Sonic Adventure 2, and it's been a while since I played Heroes but I don't remember it being particularly terrible. Apart from the fifty million mascots.

I haven't played Sonic Rush, but I have heard Right There, Ride On thanks to Brawl and I want to hear the rest of the soundtrack now.
