  1. Someone has recreated the first part of Zelda II: The Adventure of Link as an FPS. I just had to jump right in and try this, it's not bad, it makes some changes (no towns, or magic) since it's really only a small part of the game at the end of the day, but what is there is very cool.

    I WANT TO PLAY NOW!!

Might be cool if this guy felt like doing the rest although I don't really get the impression that he does at this point. Either way, this was pretty awesome to see as far as I'm concerned.

  2. I actually really liked Expose' (the Nikki and Paulo episode), purely for its silliness. Absolutely, it didn't accomplish much in the grand Lost storyline if anything, but it was entertaining, combined with the fact that it killed these two characters we all loved to hate (why the producers thought people would be ok with them randomly interjecting two people who had supposedly "been there all along" who knows).

Really though, the fact that it opened to the tune of Wreckx-n-Effect's "Rumpshaker" will always be what I remember about it. I still remember just thinking "What... the... #%^&..." as the episode began to that song. I'm sure a lot of people just thought it was stupid, but for me it was mostly hilarious and definitely entertaining. Sawyer's "The hell's Expose'?" line always cracks me up as well.

I was fine with the Richard episode since even though it only followed Richard, I know I wanted to know his story, and seeing the Black Rock arrive on the island and destroy the statue was cool as well. Maybe I'm easy to please but this episode was just fine with me. It also finally confirmed my brother and I's long suspicion that Richard arrived on the Black Rock which was fun.

NOW, as far as the Jacob/Smokey episode goes, I couldn't agree more. This SHOULD have been one of the best and certainly most revealing episodes yet, but for the most part their "explanation" was so vague it was almost more frustrating then anything. I am on the "I wanted a little more information side" of the coin when it comes to Lost fans, I know a lot were ok with how it ended since the characters' development was given priority, and it was always a character driven show. I don't dispute that, but for me a lot of the intrigue of the show was with the island's mysteries, and in some cases I don't quite feel like I got my answers.

I still can't really bring myself to comment on the finale, other than than it was mostly good and Lost will certainly go down as one of my favorite shows ever.

  3. I do like the Chronotorious version (any CT music fan needs to get that... now) but would still love to hear a more electric guitar-heavy remix of this song. That would be one of those mixes I've silently hoped has been created for years now, and who knows, maybe someone will get inspired by this!

  4. I have kind of been enjoying playing "shoot first, burn later" Pyro, but at the same time it doesn't really seem to be what the "Pyro" class should be doing primarily. I'll be interested to see what Valve comes up with after already tweaking it a couple times now.

  5. FF7 and Chrono Cross, they still have their charm and I'll definitely still play them whenever I decide to, but these PS1 titles find themselves in a bit of a no-man's land between acceptably nice looking 16-bit SNES titles and much more polished, non-pixelated PS2 titles.

  6. The Dallas Braden story may be the best of the year, we'll just have to see! Either way, can't help but feel great for him and his family, no matter what he does for the rest of his career he's made it onto a list only 18 other names are on.

As for my Blue Jays, they aren't sunk.... yet, so that's always fun  .

  7. I've just been using this

    I don't know I like things generic sometimes :P

I would imagine that the soon-to-be coming official OCR embedded album art will look like that. I'll definitely be applying whatever they come up with to all my downloads whenever it's done!

  8. Very cool, this is exactly the kind of thing I would like to do at some point as well. I'm a nut for album art and have been thinking about what the best way to start organizing my numerous OCR tracks for a while now.

At the moment I have a generic OCR folder and seperate folders for Chrono Trigger, Chrono Cross, Metroid, and Super Metroid, and really could probably have a few more, it just isn't something I've looked at recently.

  9. I kinda thought the same thing when I was reading the writeup for that DKC2 remix yesterday, irony being that I never played Sonic 3 so Ice Cap doesn't really mean much to me. "Brinstar Red Soil Area" from Super Metroid is the one that I instantly think of, followed by Wily Stage 1 from MM2 (both already mentioned of course, cause really, who wouldn't think of those as well). Schala's theme has that reputation of being "the most mixed source ever," but I'd be curious to know if it actually is or not.

Lately I've also started to feel like "Vampire Killer" from Castlevania is making its way up the list as well, but I haven't looked at actual numbers.

  10. Two sides, one is Light, one is Dark...

Sorry, couldn't help myself  . I find that scene from Season 1 unintentionally funny due to the blank look Walt gives Locke after he does this. At least it is appropriate considering what we seem to getting for next week's episode.

  11. Video was very cool, great job by the crew who filmed it and it looked like a lot of fun for everyone involved. Makes me wonder how many VGM remix music videos we might see in the future, really hit the theme perfectly with the go-karts obviously, and I loved the kid towards the end  .

As for the album, I don't need any more convincing, I'll be buying next week soon as I'm back I'm on my PC, and halfway across the country at my new address.

  12. TF2 Interactive | A Heavy's 2fort Adventure!

Hey, I just got this link from a friend and it's amazing! Basically it's a choose-your-own-adventure story comprised of a series of 30sec-3min video clips all starring a Blu Heavy. Great fun and very well put together. I found myself going through all the "wrong" pathways just so I could see all the video clips.

There's also a "Do it live" version you can play when its finished that has some people "live" narrating it and is equally as funny.

    Enjoy!

Very cool, my PC is being shipped to my new address at the moment so this helped me get some form of TF2 fix  . It's very well done though, great idea by the creator, almost makes me want to try something like this for other games.

  13. What I like about this is that I now have no reason to consider idling, which I was starting to toss around in my head. I'm sure I play enough hours to get the full chance at items per week in this new system so... cool.

I wonder what that means as far as random hat drops though, presumably they will be a little more common now, but how much more common. Either way, more items means more scrap which means more hats as well.
