I love the collage nature of the NWG's face.Alright, I'm not the best Photoshop user on the planet, but here's my idea. It's really basic, I know. But I figured if someone wanted to do it better, I'd give a relatively clean slate. I may add more humor as whimsy strikes.Edit: In general, where's the OCR-tan love?

I too knew him through his work--as will past and future OCReMixers surely.
He will be missed by all.

Canned Judge lol.
And yes, we own Sweet and Salty Tears®
Right-click-save-as for a bonus lol.

IMO the best part of Galaxy is the way the music changes based on your movements. More games need to do this -- if you don't know what I'm talking about, listen to the music when you dive underwater as one example.
The Mario series has been doing that for a long time.
Take Yoshi in SMW or stepping onto land in one of SM64's water levels.

Super Mario Galaxy has passed Ocarina of time on GameRankings.com

Even I need to say: Holy shit.

$hit. F@k. Nuts. I've got What The Heck playing on repeat to emphasis how I feel right now.
You mean the Earthworm Jim track?

$90 for Tengen Tetris on NES? I snagged mine off of eBay for less than half that.
Anyone have those pics of McVaffe's room (I think that's who it was) with that big picture of Mario from SMB1 on the wall? Maybe I'm thinking of 2 different rooms...

I've never heard of it, but I'll check it out.So... I finally got Dementium: The Ward.If you don't know, Dementium is a FPS zombie survival game. Think Silent Hill/Resident Evil in form, but Half-Life in function.
And despite getting some pretty damn good reviews from various sites, it still seems to slip under people's radar. In fact, most of the places I went to looking for it said they never heard of it.
Some of my favorite DS games, like Izuna, have been under the radar.
In other news, I (reluctantly) subscribe to the hmv.co.uk e-newsletter and they recently ran this graphic--staring Nicole Kidman no less:
Since the image is in tables, the above pic is a screen grab but here's the original message.
lol. horizontal flipping ftw.

Hm...
Maybe I'm derailing the topic, but every time I drive past my local GameStop (it's on a main street so I do it almost daily) the Wii demo kiosk--with Galaxy on it--has been empty. You don't even have to ask the counter for the WiiMote and Nunchuck anymore, as they're tethered to the kiosk.
This makes me a very saaad q-pa
Are you guys finding this where you are?
Edit:
Hm, I wonder if it will have an influence on future platformers.Just like the reviewer on Game Trailers video said, Galaxy re-defines the platformer.Modern-day platformers like Ratchet & Clank and Sly; for some reason I can't really see them being influneced by this game...

What they said.
This is your birthday, so we're going to help you rock it, bitch.
Edit: Where'd the rolleyes smiley go?

The thing is that the whole situation is simply unjust. The studios and networks hog all the money and they treat the writers and the actual creative staff (arguably THE most important aspect of any show: the writing) like trash and relegate them to a barely surviving salary, and they expect to get away with it. It really has nothing to do with how much money someone else is making. Just that the distribution could be a lot better. And I think anyone who works and has a real input into their job and gets ripped by hierarchy could and should feel sympathy with that.
Though apparently some higher writing talents do get the requisite six figure contracts, what's irksome is the revenue flow. Hollywood and the music industry should've been crucified for their monopoly on the revenue a long time ago.
Amen.
But this is also true.the lower class has their labor unions, the upper class have their representation, and the middle class gets shit on once again.Hmm...
-
Yeah, that's what I meant; sorry. If I'm not mistaken, the writers are the ones asking for the share of revenues from Internet and non-traditional media. As well as DVDs and other such items. Which should be fair, it's their work being replicated over and over again after all. -
I personally am very excited about this game. Considering the Wii is a "souped-up Gamecube" the graphics are really amazing, and the gameplay is just what the doctor ordered IMO.
Hard to believe the team that made the quickly-forgotten DK Jungle Beat could pull this off.
-
Yeah, it's been brewing for awhile (it was mentioned several times during the Emmys I believe) and Jon Stewart mentioned it at the end of Thursday's Daily Show (hence this week is reruns
)
I know the main thing they're asking for is a share of revenues from Internet and other non-traditional mediums. Corporate bastards...

Now playing: Super mario 64 DS.
( I know I'm a little behind the curve on that one.)
I was up to 75 stars when I lost my DS and that game.
After buying a new one I didn't have the motivation to do it all over again at first, but now I'm starting to get into it again.
I toyed around with how many stars I could get before defeating the Big Bob-Omb (save the one behind the gate, I found it impossible to get any other of the 1st course's stars without him), and getting the other stars out of their prescribed order.
Even with the control, that game is just too hard to hate.
Edit:
To those of you into the DS homebrew scene, DS Organize has been updated somewhat recently to v3.05.You can now download files using the web browser! I've been grabbing mp3s and playing them back using this program and it rocks. This is seriously the best homebrew ever.
Allright!
New OCR tracks on the go, anyone?
Edit2: On the topic of DSOrganize, am I the only one that sometimes experiences freezes when playing back SNES .spc files?

Haven't started the third one yet, but my favorite localization moment from the first 2 was making the Stell Samaurai's slogan "For Great Justice." Dropped my stylus behind the bed over that one.The localization was pretty good with the past two games, humor-wise. (I remember Maya telling someone that they were the man now, dog, in Justice for All.)
I can't wait either.I can't wait for Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney and all its DS specific stuff. Rise from the Ashes was my favorite case in the first game, and AJ:AA is suppose to be a whole GAME full of that stuff. The reason they didn't do anything like that again was that the first 3 PW (or Gyakuten Saiban) games were originally released for the GBA in Japan in 2001, 2002 and 2004. I've been poking around those ROMs for the hell of it lately; the experience on the DS is definitely much better.

Don't forget Wario!*attempting to revive the threadSo did anybody watch the Trilogy?
I really enjoyed the return of the Woodland Critters and seeing Mario, Manbearpig, the Katamari Prince and Link in there. Overall it was enjoyable but not quite as epic as I initially thought it was going to be.
It seems--as South Park has done in the past--like they were going for that "mock-epic" feeling. What with the music and the suspenseful climax of part II.
"We must nuke... our imaginations. 8O"
Also, was it just me or did the definition of imagination in part III paralell with the definition of torture being argued around today?
Then, in the Tourette's episode, he "admitted" that he and his cousin put penises in their mouths.I thought it was that they touched penises, no?

The zoom-in on the nipple and crotch is kind of disturbing.

Wow.
I never thought I'd see this in my lifetime.

With or without screen protectors is fine. I think that you'd only really NEED a screen protector is when playing EBA or something like that. Otherwise, most of the games aren't too stylus heavy with constant poking... especially though spinners in EBA, some people like to press really hard when doing those even when they don't have to.
Actually, my sister doesn't have any screen protectors and I like to use hers more than mine because it's more responsive. *shrugs*
I'd be afraid to play stylus-heavy games like Zelda and Starfox Command without a screen protector. They're full of fast swiping movements and I tend to press my writing utensils hard.

It's 1342.It still isn't on the two sites that I go to; what's the ROM number associated with it?Ha.
One site has ROM #1342 as "New Touch Game Party (Europe)(Independent)" and my other has it as "Gyakuten Saiban 3 (J)".
It's mass chaos!

It still isn't on the two sites that I go to; what's the ROM number associated with it?playing phoenix wright 3 after having it so long finallyfirst case was quite awesome i must say
--Not that it really matters, since I'm still working on the 2nd game. Had to start over again after I lost my DS and flashcard last week.
Edit: And yeah supremespleen, Halo DS looked pretty cool. Maybe someday the demo will be leaked...

I shouldn't have to do this, but Bumpage.
Last week there were a ton of decent DS games to look into.
Mario Party DS, Bomberman Story DS (the first good non-traditional Bomberman game I've played), and FF XII Renevant Wings. I don't know what to think about that one; anyone have it yet?
I also just got Looney Tunes: Duck Amuck. It's not as good as I thought it would be...
