I grew up in the 8-bit era [the 80's]. I've played videogames as long as I can remember. I learned piano when I was 9. Music is something I cannot live without.

My piano lesson's were very unique but unfortunately often dumbed down. The teacher played by ear [which I unfortunately am awful at] and told us to bring whatever we wanted to learn. I remember those days fondly, we'd plug the Audio cables from the N.E.S. or S.N.E.S. into a tape player and record songs and take them in. I especially remember Snakeman's theme from Megaman 3 as the first song I learned to play competently in less than a day because I wanted to play it so badly I sat for a hours at my piano playing over and over and working out all the kinks. But this was a dumbed down version where the treble was accurate but the bass consisted of triad chords instead of the actual bass line for the song.

First song I learned from a video game was Snakeman's level from megaman 3 [nes]. I was 9 years old at the time. I play songs from the megaman, Mario, Zelda, Metroid, Kirby, F-Zero, and sonic series so far.

  1. blah.... I'm trying to upload another rough draft of a video and it's taking forever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  2. Well... If brawl is taken I'm no longer interested. Best of luck.
  3. Fuck it. i love the brawl final destination theme and I'll see what I can whip up piano that's good for a combo video. I may toss in some wind waker title them to drop some very strong hints on what combos I wanna see.
  4. Extremely rough draft of a 3/4 version of wily song 2 (stages 3 and 4) from megaman 3 on piano in 3/4 instead of 4/4. the original sorry its late. I said afternoon, but wound up having convos with co-workers at the bar... I hate being late. My bad.
  5. I'm not the biggest fan of 4's music (okay I love 4 musically but love 3 better and 5...) but I do like the idea of those concepts for an album. Also keep working. I'm gonna be late posting my vid, but it's really just a rough draft and still needs work. Please keep working on your song sounds like a good idea. Post it here, I'll do my best to objectively critique it. I'll say why I do and don't like it (and try to not let my own taste meddle with it). Thanks :). i hope you have an interest in producing a song. I'm sorry I'll be a bit late posting my rough draft for "dr wily stage 3/4 mm3"
  6. Both of those sound pretty awesome actually. I'd love to turn gravity man into 5/4 or make the end theme of 7 into 7/8 and frost mans theme in 7/8. I'd totally get a raging boner if those gets done. I'll work with you on that if you wanna work on the 3/4 project.
  7. Can you use the file to create sheet music for the song? I play piano but not by ear to well. what hear here isn't too difficult with a little practice and work. I'll give it a try. I may alter the arrangement a bit and toss in some echoes, more grace notes, and likely fuck with the arpeggios but I'll certainly give you one as is and my version.
  8. Sounds cool... but at the moment I'm all about this 3/4 thing. I've already started on wily castle theme 2 (stages 3 and 4) in 3/4 time and I absolutely love the way it sounds. I also made a 2/4 version that's kinda bouncy and uses shuffle rhythm. I'm down for the four on the flour concept after the 3/4 thing is done.
  9. edited... the new idea is to take a song from any numbered megaman game and alter the time signature so the new time has a number from the game of origin e.g. Songs from megaman 4 can be in 5/4, 3/4, etc., songs from 7 can be 7/8 or what have you, 6 can be in 6/6, 6/4, and so on. originally the idea was for "megaman 3/4" which involved only megaman 3 and 4 songs and put them all in 3/4. But not enough expressed interest and a lot of megaman 4 songs I don't feel work well in 3/4 (specifically wily castle 1, which I think could sound great in 5/4).
  10. Feel like helping me make a song...

Like if I send you the song can you screw with it using a DAW and send it back?

  11. Unfortunately I need to go to step one and get a computer so I can use a DAW in the first place... le sigh. Anyone feel like helping a poor person with an expensive piano that records to make a song?
  12. mine Free MP3 download: N.mp3 the original Definitely watch the original if you wanna know why it's called blue guys don't look at explosions. Anyway other than obvious timing and practice sorta things what kinda feedback can you offer? One last comment: Why in the *%#* hasn't this song been remixed yet?
  13. Mine Free MP3 download: W.mp3 Original Other than rather obvious things I need to work out [e.g. Timing and practicing the song more till I'm not miss hitting notes etc.] what do you have to say about my work in progress?
  14. If I get a camera with better sound I could show you some open mic shit... there's a few video's on my youtube of me playing piano and one with an ocarina thrown in. But these aren't the greatest performances... sigh.

    Loved the song you made.
