FWIW, I've got a set of 5" E-Mu monitors, and I'd be completely lost without my subwoofer. Anything below about 60-80hz is cut off completely from the monitors. Has to do with the lowest frequency that a certain size of speaker can produce--I think even an 8" speaker can only go to like 35hz or something, the exact numbers aren't coming to mind.

Wait, I never answered any questionnaire. How do I get in contact with someone that matters?I'd contact Liontamer or Zircon!
See above.

Grunts in Halo. "Run away!"
Also, pretty much everything in Borderlands 2.

I'll probably make like Indiana Jones and slide in just barely under the deadline. I'll turn something good in, though, don't worry.

I couldn't tell you anything about the Yamahas, but I know a lot of people in the electronic genres sing the praises of these things. $500 gets you a pair from Sweetwater.

Wow, super-clean production. Me likey. Also, that cheesy saw stab really put a smile on my face. Fantastic work, Mr. North!

Aaaand we're done, mostly because my computer can't handle streaming while this project is running. That's just how loaded it is. Thanks to all who showed up!

I'll be starting on the last leg of this remix journey in about 15-30 minutes. Tune in at http://twitch.tv/flexstyle for the session!

I heard something about some killer djembe licks. Is that true?
I will neither confirm nor deny the allegations of rad hand percussion.

I used Open-Source Broadcast, which allowed me to select several sources (including my webcam and specific portions of my screen), so that's how I got my lovely mug in the frame.

lol was that my mod review? I love you Flex!
I didn't tag it with my customary <MODREVIEW /> tags, so I can go super in-depth if you want! I just don't think it needs it, is all.

So, uh, I could nitpick this, but what's the point? I listened to the entire thing and just got lost in it, it's really good. I'm sure it would be an easy pass on the panel.

Glad this one went over so well! I'm going to try and do these a lot more often, so stay tuned on my Facebook page (link in my signature) or here in this thread for the next time I do one. Also, don't be afraid to ask questions here ahead of time so that I can answer 'em in another session.

Hey all, I'm currently livestreaming over at http://twitch.tv/flexstyle if you wanna catch some work-in-progress for the Balance and Ruin album. Hopefully I'll be livestreaming over there a lot more, just workin' on stuff, so join me if you can!

Getting over "the hump" of taking my original ideas for a remix and fleshing them out to get a nicely constructed, cohesive track. It's far to easy to get stuck in a rut 2-3 hours into a song and not know where to take it next.
THIS! So much of this. I'll get like 16 bars of awesomeness going, and then be like, "wait, what do I do next?"
-
I've heard several remixes of this track, but this is the one that makes me want to stick it in my car stereo as loud as the thing can possibly go and drive around town like a total boss. Fantastic work.
-
Ahhh heck, sign me up. I've got finals around the same time as the mixes are due, so I may not be around as much as I'd like, but I don't want to see this second season go to waste so soon.

Yeah, check your looping mode.

You shouldn't have any trouble with .wav files as long as you're rendering with the tail either cut off or wrapped (as opposed to left in, you'll see what I mean on the render page). MP3 files, though, automatically insert just a little bit of silence at the beginning of the file, so I wouldn't really recommend them as being used for looping in a game.
-
I actually like melodic content, as it tends to make a really good jumping-off point for me, especially when trying to make music VERY quickly (e.g. competitions or paid soundtrack work).
-
He's trolling.
I'm always impressed with your mixing quality, so I've gone and done the right thing by following you on Soundcloud. Can't wait to hear more!

So, Nine-Volt Audio is selling a big ol' package of loops for about $300, when they claim it'd otherwise go for about $2400. The demo sounds really good, and reviews from publications I trust (Computer Music, Sound On Sound, etc.) are pretty good. Has anyone else here ever used NVA's loop packages, and would you consider this a good deal?
