  1. I'm busy trying to get the uncharted 2 plat. All I need to do is get the rest of the treasures and beat it on crushing mode. (I'm on lvl 3) Oh yea, I also need to get 200 kills with the minigun weapon. It's kind of a pain to run upstairs and look at the web for the trophys and then run downstairs to go find them. But i'll manage.

I'm playing that too, it's really fun. It's like a book/movie. It's great and the graphics look incredible.

  2. ... So this has slowed down a bit,

anyone playing Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 here?

I do. The single player was a little short I guess but it was fun. The multiplayer is where the real fun is. My friend tag is in my sig if you wanna add me.

  3. I actually am really excited for 13. And NOT JUST BECAUSE THERE IS A BLACK PROTAGONIST! :< (Okay, maybe that has something to do with it :) )

But I'm actually just mesmerized by the cut-scenes. I've read that the game is linear but I don't think that will bother me too much because I've also read that the battle system is a smorgasbord of ideas from previous FF's and that it works quite well.

tl;dr - Battle system looks hot. FF finally has a real black protagonist (Barret doesn't count.)

But no upgrades, exploration, towns, or NPCs? As much as I love FF, I wouldn't call this an RPG if it doesn't have those basic components of the genre.

  4. It really sucks it's not a PS3 exclusive. Exclusive games are always optimized for the system they're on, really taking full advantage of the systems capabilities and graphics. It's going to still be good, but not as good as it could be. Doubtful is it that each respective version is optimized for their system.

  5. "everything is going according to plan"

"I should hope so.... for your sake...."

This exchange made me want to stab the script writer repeatedly in the face.

THe music is sort of hit and miss. There are a few points that are very well done, and a few that irritate me almost as much as some of the strained dialogue (particularly parts where they took tunes from the game but dumbed down the chord progression).

EDIT: WHAT THE FUCK is there a cast list somewhere? One of the actors looks EXACTLY like an old friend of mine...

There's a complete cast list in the closing credits. The music box song was my favorite tune and everything else was alright, but not as memorable. I could crituqe this all day, but overall it was decent for what it was. And for an independent group, I can't think of any better versions out there.

  6. Their argument is that it'll be for older people who can't see the screen all that well...

I don't know that many 70-year-olds that play videogames, but I guess I can see the logic. From what I've been reading it looks like the game images are stretched out quite a bit, which to me is a bad thing personally.

Either way, I'm happy with my blue DSi.

And my DS Lite with it's Advanced compatibility. My game selection is about 50/50 between the two.

  7. Thanks! It's a Nikon D70s and I love it :)

If I remember correctly, it wasn't so feisty after it had a little accident trying to cross the street

IMG_0613.jpgNot a lot of pictures of this guy, how bout some facetime, eh Kats?

Me taking a picture of him taking a picture. That was a sweet as camera.

Xenon Odyssey and the upside down fly stuck to him. Kinda weird. But perhaps not as weird as his massive amounts of hamburger meat, and I don't mean food.

  8. The real question is, did you get to hear zircon sing?

Nah...he decided to show us his other talents by proceeding to whoop everyone's ass in Street Fighter HD Remix.

It seems my hat was a more successful party guest than myself.

We could all learn from my hat.

Hahaha. That frisbee was quite the party whore too wasn't it?

  9. Who knew indeed Harmony...Got home safely a lil bit ago. Thanks for everything Jill and Andrew, you guys are truly good hosts. Got to hear Jill sing in Guitar Hero and it was everything I thought it would be haha. Brushfire is definitely a nut and it was great as was everyone else. Zircon's mixing session was amazing, hoo boy. Awesome, awesome time! :nicework:

  10. Will you be coming up for the VG Expo in October, joe_cam? OneUps are playing, and zircon will be giving a panel and playing in a band as well. :3

    Hope your foot heals fast!

In other news, if everyone on the tentative list could try to let us know whether they'll be coming, that would be awesome. We're just trying to get a sense of how much food to buy tomorrow!

Alright, beer or no beer, I'll be there.

  11. UPDATED the first post. Since there are so many people coming, I think it would make the most sense to just have the meetup in the 'burbs, at our apartment. This way we don't have to worry about all the public transportation nonsense, finding a restaurant that can seat all of us, etc.

    So, here's the deal:

    If you're driving...

We live at 1030 E Lancaster Ave, Bryn Mawr, PA. It's in a big apartment building (10 stories) called Radnor House, and it will be on your left up a hill/driveway if you're going WEST on Lancaster. You can park in any of the lots to your RIGHT once you start going up the hill. Just give me a call ( 215-531-0798 ) when you've arrived. Try to be there between 11:30 and noon, as we're going to go for a short walk to pick up the folks taking public transportation around noon.

    If you're taking public transportation...

All trains and buses go to 30th St Station in Philadelphia. So, whether you're taking BoltBus, Megabus, NJ Transit, Septa or Amtrak, you'll probably end up there first. What you'll want to do is go to the SEPTA / Regional Rail area of the station (you can always ask an employee if you can't find it, but there are signs) and then buy a ROUND TRIP TICKET on the Septa R5 Westbound toward Paoli/Thorndale. This should run you about $6.50.

Try to catch the 11:19 train as it will arrive at Rosemont at about 11:49 - just a little early. If you miss this, the next one is at 11:49, which will of course arrive 20 minutes late.

Make sure you are taking a LOCAL train, not express! You will want to get off at Rosemont. The folks who arrived at our apartment building by car will all walk with us to Rosemont station to pick up everyone else (it's only a few blocks away.)

Please remember to bring $3-5 to help us cover the cost of the BBQ. There are a lot of people coming so we'll need to buy quite a bit of stuff. :P In case we eat earlier and everyone is hungry for dinner (or eat late and want to order a separate lunch), you will probably want some additional money to pay for that too. We probably won't be going bowling because of logistics, but if you want to be extra-prepared, I think it's around $10.

ok when I think BBQ, I think beer. I'm not talkin about a keg, just a few microbrews or somethin. Anything going on with that? Or maybe they'll be too many underage people. Maybe BYOB?

  12. Then why is it when I introduce it to new people they always say that the later reviews are just not as funny as the first ones? It just seems like quality wise, he has sloped some. That's what pressure to do these does to a person though.

I've noticed this too. Right around the time they stopped using a unique theme song before the review instead of the standard song. I found those funny too.

  13. Maybe I'm retarded, I don't know, but I found how to listen to the songs a bit clunky. It took me a little bit to realize that you double click on the song in the chart to hear it, instead of the hand appearing on my cursor on an underlined link I'm used to. Then the song link itself doesn't really stand out in any way. I guess I'm inadvertently comparing that site to this one.
