I've beaten I-VI, not VII-IX, and X+ I haven't played...

Raikou was Jan 3-9. Entei will be Jan 17-23. Suicune will be Jan31-Feb 7. Celebi will be Feb 27-March 7. These are for all 5 Gen4 games.

I'm in the "loved the fuck out of VII, VIII, and IX" camp. (and I, II, III, IV, V, and VI as well) I've never played past IX...

I think that's why in the Pokémon's status screen it shows the nickname and the species name...

But, as neko said, part of the original's charm was the blocky graphics. IF they were to go that route (which they won't), then I feel the 3DS would be the best option. This is all purely hypothetical though.

Ya know, if they really wanted to remake VII, why not just go the route Nintendo is with StarFox 64 and Ocarina of Time? Namely, put it on the 3DS with only slightly improved visuals. Not like they'd have trouble fitting it on the 3DS game card, which does have a capacity ranging from 2GB to 8GB. Hell, with that amount of memory, why not put Before Crisis and Crisis Core on the card too? A FFVII Collection, if you will, in 3D. Not like they're going to, but still. It's a thought.

The way I thought it went was that Square wasn't doing too well financially, and Dragon Quest was kickin' ass. So Square put all their money into one last game entitled Final Fantasy, an RPG like Dragon Quest, in a make it or break it effort. It sold, and they survived. The irony being that 13-14 years later they merged with Enix. Some dramatization may be found here, but more or less that's what I thought happened.

Wasn't Dragon Quest the reason Square made Final Fantasy in the first place?
