On the same site i just updated my Skychase zone, i added reverb to the drums as people have suggested i should do to my tracks, is that the sort of thing you mean i should do to my tracks, because even though that adds an airy sound kinda breathy and stuff and it works imo for that atmospheric track i dont think i'd like to add in that rubbish sound in EVERYTHING i do i think if anything it slightly ruins the sound slightly i'd rather just have it nice and flat and imo perfect for hearing but its worth a try anyways so erm have i done it right? check from about 30 seconds to the first minute of skychase for my effort xGx

Thank you very much Rozovian, you have clearly listened very hard to this, yes the panning is still an experimentation, not really sure what i was doing there haha. as for compression on the drums and stuff and those numbers i dont have much a clue how to do that, I can add more bass middle or treble... I need to look into that a bit more. Seems a few people critisise the trancey synth, i personally love it and its kinda my sound so im going to stick with it ^-^ i like the whole graduation of intensity. My samples are weak but im working with midi and vst - not audio, so i think for the most part im doing a fairly decentISH job, audio takes me months to get right and stuff and in the end it feels more like a chore and not fun, which is why i dont record guitar anymore. But i am really happy with this mix and it seem others are too so I shall hopefully improove upon it once i am a bit more practised Thanks allot for your feedback I think the previous disaster i posted was Euphoria in slyvarant, and yes now i realise the sound levels on everything were way too high, its just my sound system is awsome and it sounded great, but then i tried headphones.... oh the pain... bit of a fuck up there i think haha. These notes shall be saved for later, for the time being ive moved onto wonderboy (which atm sounds like shite and its totally stressing me out) haha ^-^ xGx

Thanks allot of that makes sence, ill definatly look at what the synth is playing and see if I can mimic it in somway in the early stage so that its not a totally random surprise at the end, but to be fair both the orcestrated part and the lead are following the same source which is only 2 parts and even though the synth mainly accentuates one tune and the orcestra the other i didnt really want to bring in the synth tune eariler cause then it wouldnt have that hitting effect. As for repitition, yes it is, i really rushed the end... whoops. Thanks again Thehands xGx

At this stage Im more intrested in my actual writing/structure than the overall sound of my work concidaring as many people tell me over and over the program I use sounds like shit anyways apparently so there probably is every missing frequency that can be missing. xGx

Thanks i know my orcestration isnt brilliant but im really trying to work with them allot so get better at using them, i know the brass sounds really weak sometimes but i thought i pulled off something that was semi decent. Its a good idea to put more tech at the beginning maybe but i kinda wanted that cross over effect from no tech to heres-the-tech if you know what I mean Maybe i could try and slap in some more other intruments at the start I DID try a harpsichord but couldnt write anything that sounded remotely good so was replaced it with the solo violin that is there which I thought I did a decent job of... thanks for taking the time mighty -SplinterofchaoS- ^-^ final irelevant note/rant... Myspace may nerf the quality a little (almost unoticable to me), but all i care about is thats its free hosting for multiple songs that I can link anyone to easily. People who think something along the lines of "its myspace so I wont go there because" and keep hating on me for using it is a just a myspace-hating-nazi or something like that imo. A stupid amount of artists put there stuff on there for a reason, its good. xGx

Ok its me again, i got another one kinda finished already. the first thing that catches my attention there is the comment about the drums, they ARE real sounds.... cant really make them much better than that... perhaps some reverb might give them some colour but i like them kinda flat as they are... True some of the samples are kinda like a total 'midi rip' but I like to just breath life into old tunes and keep them pretty much cannon and not butcher them with originality cause overwise its not the same song hence why ocr isnt really the place for me and the judges plain out hate me haha. Yes my samples could be better i'll get it right eventually. There seems to be only so much you can get out of cubase xGx

Cheers Mr sneak that is some intresting advice, yes i have noticed that the bass end in this is a little weak but it seems my program doesnt enjoy bass too much, still trying to get decent bass sounds without getting crackling sounds and distortion. I shall have to look into this 'vibe' problem you've mentioned, this is not something i have noticed. Is it created by the way i have written the parts to play or a result of the intruments im using needing some tweaking in say their cut off time or something? Judges have never said anything about my pieces other than 'not original enough' I care little for their opinions now. Im glad you liked Skychase, although its a little dated now, the drums especially haha. Sorry Rozovian, i do also host them on Myyearbook which has better sound quality but cant be linked to and you have to be a member and then search for me... so thats why i didint bother to mention it. Maybe I shall try one of these other sites you suggest in that other thread. But thanks for trying to check it out. xGx

well so far ive had no time at all ive just returned from a long weekend of roleplaying and i go back to work tomorrow... but if i find the time i'll try again, i did give it a go trying to play it on guitar and its almost impossible in drop C so i didnt get very far.

zomfg X-com for the ultimate win, Im a really big fan of xcom (i own them all) and the new recent UFO series. Nothing beats X-com apocalypse though im going to download this pack thing and see what's there although i think i already have some midis from Enemy unknown as the music tracks in the game were just midi haha. one of my favorite tunes was track 22 'kill them all' from apocalypse at one point i was actually writing an xcom movie i was going to make in some game called the movies i kinda gave up though haha either way if i have some time it would be an utmost pleasure for me to give this a go as im pretty big on xcom ^-^ although im not much of a re-mixer, just more of a cover maker so im prby going to produce some fail...

I just listened to it for the first time, intresting tune but i just dont have the time to participate right now a shame.

It seems a few people liked the sounds i used, FYI that laughter is actually me I know my piece was short but I didnt have too much time and just wanted to hit the 2 minutes for an entry But glad you liked it got some nice responces and made me smile.Oh yeah also that pop at the start of mine, thats my crappy wav to mp3 converter, it does it all the time. so annoying. Had time to listen through some of these peoples work, the program sounds good in the right hands it seems ^-^ Quite impressed with certain intruments/sounds and things by certain people but not going to go into detail. I should really maybe give FL another look, I got like 3 differnt versions of the damn program
