Rockbot - a megman like game needs MIDI/MOD music
Nabeel Ansari replied to protomank's topic in Recruit & Collaborate!
Hmm, I might be interested. I'm gonna send you something within a couple weeks. -
I noticed the glowing sticky outlines when I was playing TF2 today. I found that kinda useful when using the scottish resistance to set traps on the OTHER side of a building and spring them whenever I want. I don't know why Scottish Resistance is such an unfavorable weapon. Like Bleck said, it's the way a sticky bomb launcher should work, at least for a class who uses it to set traps. It's damn useful to spring ONE of your traps instead of losing ALL of them with one click.

If you're mainly looking to do acoustic work like recording audio and aren't as interested in synthesis, sound design, and sampling, the producer edition might be a better option. However, SB edition contains Maximus, which is like Zephyr said (good for mixing/mastering). It (maximus ALONE) normally goes for $190 on the Image-Line shop; I don't know what the educational discount is (or if there is one), but even if it was half the price, the combined cost of producer edition ($119) and maximus ($85 if half price for edu discount) would be $205, which is $25 more than the SB. SB includes maximus and other stuff all for $179 (at edu discount). If you're not eligible for edu discount, however, I don't think you can get much more than producer edition on a $200 budget. EDIT: Math/Shopping blurb set aside, the Signature Bundle is a better deal, unless you don't want Maximus and prefer cheaper 3rd party plugins, in which case you have $80 after buying producer edition.

OverClocked ReMix Design ?'s and Issues
Nabeel Ansari replied to Liontamer's topic in Site Issues & Feedback
And also because I read somewhere the one of the goals of OCR is to get listeners to open up their scope to more styles of music rather than searching for an individual style (example: only hip hop remixes) EDIT: FOUND IT! Taken off the OCR FAQ. A third reason could potentially be that djpretzel would feel lonely having the only piece in the hillbilly genre, but we think the first two reasons are strong enough. -
Yo, a little help here? Something like this?
Nabeel Ansari replied to JacKThERiPPeR's topic in Music Composition & Production
My bad, thanks. I'm still confused on what versions of kontakt are out -
more then one stepsequenser in the same p?
Nabeel Ansari replied to midihooker's topic in Music Composition & Production
Just what I was about to say. Why use step sequencer when piano roll is so much more in depth? -

Seems like it uses some metal percussion, I can recommend Impact Soundworks "Impact Steel" library. It needs Kontakt (full) 4, though. -
I LOVED Crystal Shards. Played it when I was 6 years old (I think). I beat the whole game. The trailer actually reminds me a lot of crystal shards.

Does "monthly payment" mean anything to you You're comparing a phone to a gaming console. :/ What you're doing is saying the iPhone is better because it's an all around media device while the DS isn't for the same price range. So why don't we all just stop buying PSP's and DS's and let's just go get iPhones!
-
iPhones are pretty expensive, and that's not even adding in the monthly cost or whatever. Plus the big problem with the iPhone concept is that you're spending all your time gaming and taking photographs and playing neat apps that drain your battery; next thing you know, you don't have enough battery to make a 911 call to let the police know you're about to be murdered.
-
I fail to see how comparing a 3DS to an iPhone works. They're completely different devices for completely different prices for different purposes. It's like comparing apples to the green lantern corps.

Cameramen: We're here! Family: Where's ur camera? Cameraman 1: *holds up iPhone* Cameraman 2: *holds up iPhone charging dock* Family: ... That would ruin it if the wedding would be recorded in such a... low quality manner.
-
Does anyone here buy a cell phone just so they can use the camera...??? 0_o Now substitute "cell phone" with "3DS". If the answer is still the same, you should be satisfied with any camera the 3DS has. EDIT: My point is, why are you even using a DS Camera? If you want a camera, buy one. They're cheaper than DS's. I believe 1337 1 said... ... If I got a 3DS and found out it took crappy pictures, I really wouldn't give a care. I just want play my DS games.

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword
Nabeel Ansari replied to DarkeSword's topic in General Discussion
Blasphemy. There are more than ten songs I can remember from that game, and I only did it 100% ONCE. Absolutely strong melodies, and a lot of them in each song. I respect everyone has their own tastes, but to say that they're all similar sounding and boring "silence fillers" is a bit over the top insulting to the composer. There's plenty of good stuff in Mario Galaxy music, and I don't understand how you see them as boring and similar sounding. Also, Mario Galaxy music isn't just orchestral. Freezeflame Galaxy. I am EXCITED for the orchestral music of this new Zelda game. -
Most likely a compatibility issue. I use Firefox and the menu works fine. The synthesizer at the bottom would just be too cruel to actually have it work. Unless you had a really nice computer it would be better NOT to have an actual synthesizer running in your browser. I think it's just supposed to be an image (or MAYBE it's a hint that bLiNd is working on a new synthesizer with someone... ) The only thing I have to say is: GET FIREFOX I think "maybe" is an understatement He let me try it download the stuff so as soon as I can understand the documentation then I'll make a super awesome web site

Do you have a favourite time signature?
Nabeel Ansari replied to Fernito's topic in General Discussion
on sheet music, that would consist of taking a ruler, measuring the major axis of a whole note and then dividing that distance by 11. Then, You measure your new distance across the whole note from the side and draw a line down the whole note where it stops. Erase the other 10/11 of the whole note. The remaining mark is an eleventh note (or at least an eleventh of A note). -
Now you just need your album... This site was made a while ago was it not? I'm pretty sure you showed me months ago. xD

Milky Way Wishes: A Kirby Super Star Tribute - History
Nabeel Ansari replied to Arek the Absolute's topic in Projects
I wouldn't say it's disorganized, I mean those tracks are the ones that Halc/Arek wanted on the project and having spoken to Halc/ reading his forum post I don't think he intends on waiting for new bonus tracks; if the entire tracklist on the first page is filled and all done and remixed then that's it. I wouldn't suggest anyone grabbing the unclaimed optional tracks unless they can work in a small timeframe. -

Next time, I would suggest that you specify that you're not intending to make any revisions so people don't give critical feedback only to realize you're not really using it. (I don't mean to sound commanding, just giving some advice because I used to be a real asshole in the workshop forums when it came to getting feedback)
