If that's how all your new projects start, try reloading the new project template of your choosing. If it still doesn't fix the problem, turn all of them on and save over the old template file (located in C:\Program Files\Image-Line \FL Studio 10\Data\Templates\[nameoftemplate]). The template files are in folders that have identical names to the templates. The template you start with by default after installing FL is "Basic With Limiter", I believe.

No, he means the "enable/disable" green light next to the the knob on each slot that controls how much the effects affect the incoming audio. If those are green, try hitting the little "FX" button that's located under each mixer track. If those aren't yellow, effects won't work.

5+1 is a lot easier than 57+48. The first requires less than half a second, the second requires at least two seconds. Unless he records cumulative score in the scoreboard then we would sit there for at least 15 or so seconds to try and figure out who's winning.
