  1. The beginning of this sounds a LOT like DrumUltimA's "Lonely Petals" Pretty nice and relaxing, but it displeases me greatly that the piano just sounds like it has a high pass filter on it. Where are the warm low frequencies? I think it's key that in a solo piano piece, you need to cover a vast range of frequencies. I like that it's not very long either. I often get bored of solo piano songs because they're 5+ minutes long, they're nothing but the artist just going on and on to increase the length. I don't feel like that as much here. The song goes through what it needs to, and leaves when it needs to. Nice vibe. Good job.
  2. Sweet bass synth in the beginning. The chords and harmonies remind me a bit of Final Fantasy. The guitar tone is thick and low, a little too much for my taste, but it's not exactly bothering me. The rhythms seem a bit simple. It's definitely not the best work I've heard from you, but it's pretty rocking. The guitars seem a bit detached from the drums. SWEEET Jazz break at ~2 minutes. Those rides, man, love em. And that piano. It's glossy and punchy, fills up the empty parts of the soundscape nicely. The guitar tone is muffled and the phasering seems a bit like a gimmick more than adding to the tone. I guess I just don't like the guitar tone in this mix. The arrangement itself is nice and diverse (love that jazz break), but the production needs a tiny bit of work.
  3. I really like the groove you got going on here. Orchestral + jazzy dance. My only complaint is the instruments are sort of dry. They lack a sort of a human texture. Perhaps if they were a bit wetter with reverb they would settle more closely into the mix. I like what you did with the theme. On one hand, it's very close to the original, but on the other, you gave it a completely new texture I haven't heard before. points++ on the zelda's lullaby, though I was a bit sad that didn't get any groove in it. Great song, I like it, my only issue is the orchestral samples.
  4. So run your own competition if you don't like it. I read this over a few times. I'm now convinced you don't really know what elitism is. :/
  5. Access the instrument options (hit the wrench icon on your loaded instrument then click Instrument Options directly under it) and decheck accept standard controllers for volume and pan.
  6. Quiet and quite are two different words. RAWR Anyways, if it's still too quiet I would just bring up the mixer track volume. Still too quiet? Use something to boost gain. Like FL Limiter (with an unreachable ceiling so no compression)
  7. komplete To think otherwise is just being derp with your money.
  8. Make sure you hit Scan at the bottom of the "More..." list. (fast scan)
  9. I did read the whole thread. You can't throw "come up with your own suggestions" to people who point out flaws in yours. It doesn't work like that. Especially because I don't think there is a problem, and I have no need to care about what we can do to fix a non existent problem. You're assuming that the only reason people don't listen to individual remixes is that they don't make trailers and send out email notifications for mixposts.
  10. Dude, Mokram's right. All of your suggestions are just reiterations of the same problem with a different name. You're essentially saying "all OCReMixes need to be part of albums now" with some wording to make it look like you're supporting individual mixposts. There is no "lack of exposure" for individual OCReMixes. Every OCRemix gets pimped on facebook, twitter, its own video on youtube, and a spot on the front page. There's nothing "unfair" here. You're talking as if OCR is violating economic rights or something. Just because they don't get trailers or emails to everyone doesn't mean people don't ever listen to them. Individual mixposts get a lot more spotlight than album mixfloods because they stay on the front page for a while. Album mixfloods get buried (under themselves).
  11. Then I am mistaken. I thought only ASIO4ALL allowed for that.
  12. Your sound card doesn't have a headphone monitor. That just what Yeah, I'd get the converter. No point getting a new box. O,r it depends on how much you got this thing for. Maybe you could sell it and get an Onyx BlackJack or something. Don't get an M-Audio CrapTrack. Those aren't built to last. Feels like hollow, thin plastic. :/ The thing about trying to use the headphone port on your PC: you can't, because FL only ever uses one sound card/driver at a time (I thought all DAW's did that, I could be wrong)
  13. You guys are pathetic. I'll do just fine with KotR, HP Absorb, and Mimic.
  14. The modulation wheel is CC1. Set one of the knobs in your MIDI Outs to CC1 so that you can control that knob via automation/Edit events.
  15. Did you try plugging your headphones into your soundcard? X_X Of course the computer would bypass it... It's using the USB sound card, not the integrated.
  16. Reducing tracks to vote for doesn't reduce good music being pumped out. Those are totally unrelated.
  17. won't* I don't think anyone has successfully advertised here and actually gotten a job.
  18. Dude, calm down. You could've said that entire post more politely. You don't have to shoot him down, either. What these guys are trying to say, Castor, is that if you want to get job offers, this isn't the place for you. Someone like you would look here to find gigs, not to broadcast that you're ready to take them.
  19. Dude, think about it. Teams. 3 rounds each person. One final round. Who mixes the final round? (I think it's pretty obvious)
  20. You guys get enough big festivals over there.
