  1. Yeah, we don't have any burning need for that IP so I can keep running it for a while for atmoo's team.
  2. Jeez powerlord we've been over this, You're not leaving enough for future expansion of /home/fireslash/furryporn
  3. Perhaps this mod should have its own thread. While some ocr tf2 players are interested, and it is TF2 related, it has nothing to do with the primary purpose of this thread: The OCR TF2 server pool. Its also confusing to follow and somewhat disruptive since it drowns out the normal conversation.
  4. Well, from a connectivity and technology standpoint, Freenode is more robust. http://freenode.net/irc_servers.shtml Freenode has: - SSL - More port options (for people who are stuck behind services that filter 6667) - More EU servers for those of us not living in the states - Tor connectivity - IPv6 According to http://www.esper.net/servers.php Esper has SSL and a few port options but not to the extent freenode has. Freenode also has a ton of staff online all the time. I've never waited more than a minute for support.
  5. Freenode over esper any day of the week In all my years on IRC, I've almost ALWAYS been connected to freenode. It has a wealth of useful support channels and has had some rock solid uptime.
  6. demos from last night (except gpit) http://kagami.fireslash.net/demos/comp/
  7. He seemed like significantly less of an asshole in-game. Either way it was a fun match once we got going. We also need an OCR 9v9 heavy fist fight night.
  8. I've heard people on other forums mention that the bug used to dupe items also causes weirdness to the world chunk the dupe happens in. I don't know if that itself was fixed, or what level of corruption happens, I'm just going off what I hear. Either way, the second you start spawning and duping stuff the game stops being fun.
  9. If they don't despawn, I vote we use boosters. We can build much more useful cart systems with them than we could using powered minecarts.
  10. While I'd love to use boosters, minecarts probably suffer the same issue boats do in SMP: Despawning after a while.
  11. "Working on boats and minecarts in SMP now. Only riding them left to add!" - Notch Do we want to continue the canal project or optimistically suspend it pending minecarts?
  12. Plan B has fallen through. IJ's box is far too overloaded. I'm out of ideas.
  13. I don't recall ever saying I'd turn it on when the tf2 servers weren't. Lots of other services run off that box which were also affected. I'll work on moving the server today or tomorrow as time allows. IJ offered his box, so we'll be moving there again. It might lag a bit though.
  14. minecraft server going DOWN for a while as it's not making the tf2 servers lag very badly.
  15. I've set up the canal base in all directions near spawn. Feel free to extend them. ALso buckets are still kind of buggy, so I spawned a bunch of water blocks and put them in the chest near spawn. Please use those instead of water buckets for now, as water buckets will, on rare occasion, cause huge cpu spikes.
  16. added ninjan, kirgio, and neoforte to the whitelist. as for the canals, curving them is very dangerous (to boaters). I've been considering running them high like the old bridges, but it'd be annoying in places. Conversely we CAN run them underground fairly easily. I'll be on tonight to discuss the initial locations and groundwork, so we'll see what works then.
  17. "I'm not on the whitelist" doesn't help me if you don't give me your minecraft handle
  18. Nevermind fixed llama has already ported his fixes to the new update. /magic
  19. Public service announcement: Don't use buckets They're broken, and cause large CPU+ram spikes which could potentially make the server exceed Java's heap space and crash.
  20. ok mods installed and such. whitelist online, let me know if you can't get in.
  21. I'm setting up the whitelist now, so no need for area protect. It was a pain to set up anyway. re highways: I'm going to run canals again once bucket fix is ported. Or maybe I'll just set it up so people can spawn stacks of water, since it's basically the same thing. hax involved but really nothing ground breaking. No autosave beyond what the server naturally does. Especially right now, since the latest update causes major CPU burn issues during chunk saving, save-all bringing even high end boxes like ours to their knees.
  22. password ocremix software can be obtained at http://mumble.sourceforge.net/
  23. updated mumble info: 206.217.135.90
  24. A little note that the update release appears to be at 6:00 (according to notch's twitter) so that's only an hour of explodey goodness. ALSO due to popular demand, I'm now running a mumble server as well. Same hostname (or mumble.fireslash.net when your DNS updates) Password is ocremix.
  25. Backup of current world: http://kagami.fireslash.net/world.tar.bz2 Tonight at 5:00 EST I'm handing out stacks of TNT. Lets see how much of a chain we can build before someone gets giddy and sets one off
