  1. Why would anyone use Apple hardware?

For what there intended uses are, Small web design, Music, some PS, or Fireworks, ect

Mac is great for apps. Not so great for games, or high-end Graphic uses.

  2. I've had the opposite experience to Bahamut.

My macbook pro barely ever crashes. It runs SO much faster then my mates laptop which has the same specs but with vista. Logic Pro works like a dream, the only problem sometimes being a need for more ram, which I'm sure I could get done anyway.

Don't get me wrong, its not perfect by any means, but for general use and music production, I find it incredible, which it should be for the price I paid.

Of course if you want gaming, windows kicks its ass, but with the wonders of bootcamp I can do that too. I can run COD4/UT3 at full specs even when its installed on an external drive. And here's the kicker, it has never crashed in a computer game.

I would suggest that you take out some long term cover for it though, as I have heard a few macbook horror stories.

The reason yours runs so much faster is because hes running on Vista. Vista = Slow, Which by my standards is bad, and vista also takes up bout 30% of RAM. Which is a downer to us Windows users. ;[

  3. You want to make music.

FL Studio is used by several remixers if that's recommendation enough.

You probably wouldn't believe it, but they've got a demo version on their site. Download that.

    edit: wait, you did.

Yes, because making music has never been so cheap in the entire history of mankind.

Ahaha, I did. i may just clean out the shit i dont use on here to free up some memory for the Demo, and ignore the False Positives, IF AVG will let me. Otherwise ill find a solution so it doesnt become a bother.

  4. Errm. If I were to buy a macbook, it would be for on the go traveling/easy web dev.

Macs are not my prefered use. Windows is better for games and such. Mac Programs like PS and what not

They each have there Weak points, And Strong points.

If you were to buy one, You have to think on what your uses will be for it as well. Some people run sites on Mac. Which i dont Reccomend at all, I would Reccomend Server 2008 and such.

Mac, im not sure if they have web server options?

All in All, it depends on what your uses will be to determine between Windows or Mac.

  5. Im Itchin to play this. My bro had it for my ps1 CT &FF6? id like to say? the dual case one. Anyways. That game kicked so much ass. I Await to see what new installments there will be..

Anyone know of New Installments? Such as Features Storyline, Battle structure ect..

  6. Toxic Biohazard.dll is a VST softsynth instrument included with FL. I would reckon you're getting a "false positive" here.

=However=, I would feel free to delete that file anyways since it's only a DEMO version that comes with FL (the full version must be purchased separately)...

I just uninstalled it, Since. im on a laptop, Running on vista x32, with 1 gb of ram. It slowed Everything down. I will download it when im finished Building my PC.

With everything else on here, it just slows down my laptop

Good to know it was a False Positive.

  7. What? theres trojan virus in the FL Demo! D: I downloaded it some time ago! but When I scaned for Viruses it didn't seem to point it out.

Theres some type of Malicious Code in it, that caused AVG to pick it up.

Im my opinion. Scann with AVG 8.0 see if you find anything. my Webroot didnt pick anything up, so its possible its What you would call a "False Positive".

  8. Trojan Picked up By AVG from the FL Demo. a Backdoor Trojan. i downloaded the demo from download.com from FL studio.

im currently Running AVG 8.0 Free Edt. And Webroot SpySweeper with Anti-Virus.

AVG picked it up. Anyone have any info on this?

Edit: Came from The file. "Toxic Biohazard.dll"

I Resolved the problem with a trojan remover and deleted the directory and its in avgs virus vault

  9. FruityLoops is really popular here. You can't really go wrong with it. If you haven't found it already, there's a demo available here.

Looks good, ill toy with the demo. when it finishes, in 1hr or so, Damn my bad internet -.-. wont start doing much till my get my PC built since im on a laptop, Space is limited. with only 1gb of ram, i need a PC :P

Anything else you could inform me with, that could overall help me?

  10. You can spend thousands if you're really into music production, but there's stuff available for free/cheap that will work. As far as software goes, Audacity (free) and Reaper ($50 for a non-commercial license) are popular free/cheap programs. You can find free sample libraries and software synths at Hammersound and KVR, and other places if you look around.

If you're thinking about recording live instruments and want something better than a dinky computer microphone, you'd be looking at a $50 to $250 purchase.

I was looking around.I just want to remix, something fun to do in spare time. As i am making a site, under development, this could a side add-on you know? FruityLoops, how good is that? what are its capabilites? ect.
