Yeah. My processor could be better but it wasn't my computer to begin with and I've worked with it. It works overall and once you've gotten used to it the graphics really aren't that bad. The only thing that bugs me anymore is the blocky lighting effects but that's not much to sacrifice for a smooth game.

I have a 9600GT. Is it really worth the 75 dollars more to upgrade? I mean, I play the game fine as it is. EDIT: I think I gave the impression I have a crap computer. I don't. I just choose to maximize my FPS, and with this config it runs very smoothly.

The game still keeps its overall charm for me, somehow.

I have most Huntsman kills and most Razorbacks broken right now. I used to have most Pumpkin Bomb kills, other than that I don't remember.

In my experiences, playing Scout without viewmodels really improves my ability to focus an quickly target enemies. I have turning viewmodels on bound to scroll-up and turning them off to scroll-down. Works great for me, although I bet most people have other stuff bound to the mouse wheel.

Hehe, very nice. Sometimes the random drop system works out okay! Sometimes. Very sometimes. I'll probably trying regular rifle Sniper out tonight. Now that I've got used to my new mouse set-up I want to see if it'll improve my Sniping. It did so for my Scouting, so I'm hopeful.

Okay, I'm here to discuss the new map rotation. I only have minor complaints, so yeah; that's good. If you agree with me say so. That way I know these changes would be appreciated and community approved. First is Dustbowl, followed by Turbine, followed by Gold Rush. That's pretty sick to have Dustbowl and Gold Rush that close together. Why not put Badwater where Gold Rush is now and put Gold Rush where Badwater is? I don't have the complete map rotation to work with but since we're just moving the two maps around it should be all good. Second, pl_waste. It's a custom so it has poor server appeal and it's a custom payload so that's double trouble. Unless there are people who really do like it, I haven't seen them yet, I think this might be a good one to remove at some point. I'd complain about frontier, but I'll let that one slide...this time! Third, can we get fastlane back on the rotation? We rtv'd there today and it was really fun. We took yukon and cp_waste out of the previous rotation so I think it's fair we add one 5CP map back. We did remove both of those, right? I haven't seen them yet so... No matter what you guys do with the rotation, I will always have something to complain about.

Actually, I just got done turning off all mouse acceleration in the Windows Registry stuff yesterday. I'm still getting used to the new feeling and getting a new in-game sensitivity locked down. I have school stuff to attend to, but after that I'll probably go all Scout for a while. Even when we're play Dustbowl and Gold Rush...

I'm also trying to get better with Scout and I find myself running into problems with Soldiers as well. I think it usually boils down to me being too aggressive when I need to back off, or just bad luck. Also have trouble running out of Scattergun shots, so I probably need to time my shots better and make each one count. Heh, guess I'll just get better at this stuff in time. I tend to stop playing Scout when the situation becomes disadvantageous and I could do better as another class. Maybe I need to do a Scout only weekend or week or something to give me a chance to really shape myself up.

At this point I'm tired of a lot of maps, Dustbowl and Gold Rush in particular. Usually I can do Huntsman Sniper to pass the time on said maps but recently they have been getting to me. I know a lot of people love these maps so it would be really self-centered to ask for them to be removed from the rotation. So I'll probably just be more picky about when I join the server because when I'm spending the majority of my time on maps I don't want to play I feel like I'm wasting my time. Maybe I need to get into scrims so I can play all the 5-CP maps I want to, but then I'd have to get good at Scout and I'd actually have to use my microphone!

Yeah, I haven't seen anything claiming that either. Back in 04 when the DS was first released I assumed the next system would have the power of the Gamecube, but at this point I really doubt it.

You can't just wait until you get home to see what you got from idling? Is your day really uneventful enough to warrant that? I've always disliked that emote. Is he sticking out his tongue is he simply teethless witha really red mouth? I don't like it...

Good news, I guess. It'll be interesting to see what exactly Nintendo does with this opportunity. It could be really neat, or it could totally be lame.

Overall that's a nice little rotation. Hoodoo isn't a great map but not too much to complain about overall. We can always rtv when we don't want to play it, or at least I hope so. Maybe Hoodoo will become self-aware and disable rtv, in which case I hope we will quickly remove it from the rotation. Also, when I was contemplating making an entire map rotation to post here the x2 idea came to mind. I'm really happy with what I see, even if seeing Goldrush twice in rotation makes me cringe. Oh well, more quality time with Arrow Spam + Razorback.

I love how Brushfire has these tiny little posts and this humongous signature. :> And yes, Viaduct should stay. It has the potential for great games and is arguably the most fun of the koth maps in general. I love nuclues but sometimes it's really tough to get the...less motivated out on that middle point. You're really vulnerable there.

Turbine is obviously better in design, that's why it's big in the European competitive leagues, but how it usually plays out in our little pub is pretty bad. I think it's the middle area, mostly, where one team will get a sentry nest going thereby locking the other team into their spawn/intel area. Ideally this can be solved with an uber but things rarely work out "ideally". Doublecross has that large, open middle area separating the two sides. A good sniper can lock down most of it but the typical round still flows better than on turbine. So I think it's a better 24-person pub map. So the idea is we replace yukon with fastlane in the rotation? That could work. It's been a long time since I last played nucleus but I know I used to love the map. We should totally use it in place of harvest, which I know we are all tired of. That's almost exactly how I think of it. As far as core rotation maps go, ctf_doublecross or ctf_turbine cp_badlands cp_granary cp_gravelpit cp_dustbowl pl_badwater pl_goldrush Maybe even cp_steel. We have a fetish with that map. :3 The 'swaps', well, that's obviously everything else. Arena should never go in our rotation directly, for sure. It depends on the customs but as a rule of thumb they are bad news bears. Sometimes people would enjoy a custom map, though ,and if they aren't in the rotation they will never be seen. It's a trade-off. Do we have the current map rotation available somewhere I can reference to?

Was just going to bring up the map rotation. Along with all the basics I don't have to bother naming, keep ctf_doublecross for sure. Every balanced rotation needs a ctf map and doublecross is quite popular. Whatever you do, don't put 2fort back in. koth_harvest_event was cool the first couple times but at this point I'm burnt out. A lot of people don't seem to like this map, myself included. I love pumpkin bombs a lot, but it's so dark on my screen. By the time I can tell which team a shadowy figure is on, a Scout has killed me. If we have to keep koth_harvest, can we at least go back to the normal version? cp_fastlane, we've had it in rotation before but I don't recall how people felt about it. cp_yukon_final gets a lot of crap from players in-game but a number of people such as me really like it. I'd like to hear from people what they think of the map because I get mixed messages. Sawmill maps are pretty eh, but I could tolerate one for a couple weeks. Might be worth it to have some diversity. ctf_well, some people hate this map. I'm indifferent, although cp_well is fun sometimes. cp_waste. I like this map, but it's custom so that scares non-regulars away. We rtv away pretty often but it doesn't seem hated by all or anything like that. If we wanted to bring some diversity into the rotation we could swap this out for another cp map or something? Okay. So that's a start. Let's get a discussion going so we can make the majority of us server regulars happy.

Guys, I got plenty of random drops last night. Remember it's the RANDOM drop system, not the consistent-except-when-the-Steam-items-servers-are-having-trouble-drop system.

I didn't get a single Camera Beard in all my playtime. I'd be really upset that I missed out on easy hats, but all I care about is getting my Pyro hat and that's coming along slowly but nicely. Kind of wish I had got the Medic mask for when I Battle Medic but hey no biggie.
