  1. First song I made in a while, trying to get my creative spirit back, by doing so I tried to make a country song, but came out sounding like a old blues/rock sound (it feels like it can fit in a theme for a game or commercial). The only thing I know that needs to be changed is the piano solo. your input will be helpful. Dusty Train (2:55) ---------- Another Tune I'm working on that i have neglected for awhile, check it out Amble on Thin Ice (3:11)
  2. I was afraid someone would immediately think of Metallica, I underestimated the ears of OCR... to be honest I thought the title need something "Chilly" but I couldn't think of a better or less cheesy title than "Trapped Under Ice". my other thoughts were "Amble on Thin Ice" or "Twilight of the Blue Snow" Other than the title, I fear of extending the song only because I am struggling on what can be added, and I would hate to have another repetitive tune..
  3. Zephyr, you just made my day!! I followed the steps you have given and now I can rest easily with no more frustration. It took me months to figure out how, and now its working.
  4. Trapped Under Ice something I made with little time. Thought it sounds kinda catchy
  5. If i can make it possible for live playing, that would be cool, but I think I want "project". I was looking at MIDI out. I am still having trouble on making it convert my keyboard's default channel to another. I'm getting the feeling what I'm trying to achieve cannot be done with this "Keystudio 25" controller.
  6. You guessed correctly on the Slicer, honestly I can't make beats, I always rely on the developer's presets. I never have used Adobe's Audition. Does Adobe offer a trial on the software? I'd imagine they do.
  7. Bare with me if this seems confusing. I am using a M-Audio Keystudio 25, ever since I got the keyboard I have only been able to play it in Ch.1 MIDI. I sometimes use Spectrasonics Omnisphere in FL Studio. the synth is intensive and it can support up to 16 MIDI channels which is quite standard, and what I would like to do is to somehow make the Keyboard play a different MIDI channel in FL Studio or Omnisphere. for example like if I wanted to switch from MIDI CH.1 "Pad" to MIDI CH.3 "Burning Piano" (Omnisphere plays 8 instruments in one Plug-In/Channel). Basically I want to make it so I can control other instruments assigned by other MIDI Channels Do I change the MIDI channel in the FL studio interface, or do I have to somehow switch it on the keyboard/controller?
  8. Ha I'm glad you mention Sky Swimmer sounds like something from a genesis game, because I sorta felt that vibe listening to my piece too. Though I wouldn't imagine its from Vectorman only because I have never played the game... I know, how could I not have played vectorman! Yeah I am trying to get my hands on Superior Drummer 2.0 at the nearest Guitar Center but they unfortunately didn't have copies, so I am waiting for them to get a new shipment on the software. The beats I'm supplied with just have no dice. The bass lines do need touching, I thought of plugging in my Fender and Jam some Funk Slapping but all of my recording gear is pretty cheap. I tend to get a hissing sound through the Input everytime I plug in my bass. I'm glad you enjoyed Sky Swimmer, I was afraid it would sound too much like porn music as some of my friends would call it...
  9. Feathers and Fins - Wow, simply that was my response. This piece is amazing, though there was one flaw, the ambiance was a little loud starting at "1:50". The ending also gave me chills. Remarkable Searching For A Star - From the start I felt like I was listening to a "Vangelis" tune. Very cool
  10. So far this is sounding very good, though I do think the rhythm guitar can be turned down just a bit to hear more from the other tracks (It may just be my sound system). Overall, this is a good tune
  11. Sky Swimmer (ALPHA) Falling From Your Dreams (BETA) (Formerly "Sky Swimmer") Instrumental / Other Percussion and Bass are still cheesy but bare with it my friends, enjoy! *If you are a guitarist, do you think you can dub a better guitar track? I'm interested in having a guitarist featured. I'm The One Runnin' Game / ?? BGM for my friend's video game "Syntropy"
  12. Awesome awesome mix, the 1st quarter of the mix was very cool and it continued to impress me even more, like it had a evolution process, the instruments from the start sounded like the sound fonts from the original game, and as it got to the 1:00 minute mark (Which I totally dig btw) it got even more catchy with the bass and keys(rhodes). I only wish that the song was a little longer but it is a pretty fast tune so its probably best kept where its at in its length.
  13. ha yeah i am pretty intimidated by the intro synth, to be honest I haven't had any luck on loud songs as for when it comes for a good intro, plus the distorted guitar track just makes me want to pull my hair, it just sounds way to stiff or robotic and i have been trying to manipulate the score to give it a little bit more swing but nothing smooth quite yet. but thanks for putting down the time to put up your thoughts about it, i had to hear somebody's else thoughts other than my friends who are afraid to be honest with me, plus i rather get the input from someone who is experienced with DAWs remixing in general. by the way, i just heard your Mega Man mix, I tell ya, its very good
  14. my apologies, the source of the remix is tuned "The Secret of Mana"
  15. Hey team, I have been surfing this amazing site for a couple of years now and I just finally now decided to register as a member. I have been working on a remix on Seiken Densetsu's (3) "The Secret of Mana" for a couple of months now (I had some bumps in the middle, mainly software related) and I still don't feel like its a finished piece. Unfortunately I have been given feedback from only one person, and he is the reason i got started on this remix, thanks to him I have had a lot of fun working on it as my first remix to be in progress, he really enjoys listening to it, but I want it to be enjoyable to others as well. The link is at the bottom, and I do hope to hear some useful feedback, it will mean a lot to me. Thank You. -- WIP 2 Notes: New intro, simulated Electric bass, new synth solo (4:07) goal(s) after WIP 2: build a more sophisticated synth solo (WIP 2 is pretty pitch happy), Guilty Obsession (The Secret of Mana) WIP 1 - March 11th, 2009 WIP 2 - March 12th, 2009 edit* - Track Updates
