ReView thread: http://www.ocremix.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=34065 Decision thread: http://www.ocremix.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=32963 RECALL VOTE GUIDELINES: We're gonna try something new and do a recall vote as it appears Brad's SoM ReMix might very well have involved too little arrangement to comply with our standards. If someone with more background can chime in and explain further, that'd be great, but apparently his piece is more of a transcription of two songs in question than an arrangement, in his own words. Please don't vote yes or no again regarding whether you LIKE the mix here, or think it should be removed due to sonic quality or other unrelated issues; the sole criteria we're evaluating is whether it's enough of an arrangement to work with our standards or whether we let something through that we probably shouldn't have. You might want to listen to Brad's other pieces as well, as they aren't wild rearrangements either yet we didn't seem to have the same qualms, and also keep in mind that reinstrumentation, subtraction (instead of addition), and modifications in tempo ARE *aspects* of what we think of as arrangement. I could go both ways on this; definitely the panel's call.

Greetings fellow OCers and remixers! I just recently remixed the "South Face Shrine" song from The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening for gameboy. It was my favorite song from the game so I thought I'd give it a shot. This is my first submission for OC and I'm excited ~_^. URL of song: Title: The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening "Shrine of Worship" Artist handle: -iLluSiON- Artist name: James Doyle Artist email: u_j2doyle@umassd.edu Artist url: Thank you for listening! -iLluSiON-

Hello mr DJp, Here is my remix I hope you like it. It was done in Reason2.5 over the course of about a week. The cutup in the middle was done on Goldwave. SuperGreenX kindly donated some samples. There is a longer version, but the intro I think is a bit unnecessary when you can just reverse the first bar and put a Yorda sample on. All the best Binster

this track was from the game uninvited, of course remixed. im not getting into details cause 9 months ago I submitted this, I got a confirmation and not once was it on the judges panel. maybe it got lost in those 9 months thru all your emails but by then the link might have gone bad cause i had to change my login name for my DSL connection and that forced the name change of the website. so please I you can push this forward.

Hi, My name is Chris Davidson (I Don't have a remixer name yet). I'm new to remixing, but a long time visitor to your site. I probably have every mix on there. Anyway, I've done a remix of the Chocobo Theme from Final Fantasy. The Chocobo theme is quite different from the original, rhythmically. The overall feel of the piece is very Final Fantasy peaceful town early on in the game. Listening to it, I can just imagine talking to a nicely colored man in front of the first house and he'd say "This is such a great town, I sure do love living here. Have you seen my lantern? YES - NO" It has sort of a latin feel, but that wasn't my intention, it just came out that way. Very towny, very final fantasy, and the chocobo theme makes it a remix and pulls it all together. The title of this piece of Welcome To Our Town. Thank you. -Chris Davidson Chris@Sound-O-Vision.com

Well firstly I'd like to say how pleased I am to share this mix with you. This has been a long time coming and ive been an advant fan of your site for quite awhile now as im sure many others around the country even the world are as well.I identify with OC's whole philosophy on things and i really appreciate what your doing.Being a composer and remixer yourself you understand the importance of exposure to a fellow remixer to flex his/her musical muscle and show what they have to offer and bring to the world of music and in this case video game music. ................................................................................................................................. If everything works out well i will be going under the Alias "DMmasterD".I have always loved and been inspired by video game music and among those on a long list are the song for Chrono Trigger which i couldnt turn away from or back off from.Im submitting a song which ive entitled "Magus (Blackwind Remake Mix)" for lack of a better title i think it fits the whole overall mood of Magus as a character and kind of brings outside listeners into the frame of mind that Magus is anything but light hearted and friendly. From the opening the track envokes darkness but yet its a little playful with some dancy electronic beats and some very effect vocal samplings that almost seem "bug like" in nature.Well overall i hope the mix does well on the judging scale and i hope to be submitting on a regular basis to OC remix.Thanx for your tim and consideration. yours truly, DMmasterD PS dont mind the URL title too much...hehehe enjoy.

To djpreztel: Here is my lastest submission, thank you for listening. Artist: DCT Title: Iced Out Nine Twenty Two Game: Sonic the Hedgehog 3 Song: Ice Cap Zone URL: Well I, like many other remixers, like the Ice Cap Zone theme, and decided to put my own spin on it. I listened to almost nothing but Ice Cap remixes while I worked on this, and it shows in the fact that I incorporated elements from McVaffe's "Ice Capped" and DarkeSword's "Hot Ice." I even added a part of DarkeSword's original piece entitled "The Moonlight Ballroom," cuz that song was stuck in my head and I didn't think he would mind (he didn't). Thanks again for listening, and considering this ReMix for your site. -DCT

download Aqua Tears here: Artist: BlueEnvy Game: Star Ocean The Second Story Comments: This is a piano arrangement of L'Aqua from Star Ocean 2. It is new age style, and takes on a similar sound to my piano compositions. It is mainly solo piano, but there are parts where there another piano behind the melody playing a certain pattern. Also, my first submission to overclocked. -end comments- Umm since this is my first submission, you want my bio info right? I'd appreciate my email not being shown, but the link to my music would be ok. Real name: Nathan. (i dont want to put my last name) Im on the forums as well, so that information can be put up. So, for Biography: I compose and play piano/trumpet. A lot of my compositions are new age, but i can write in many styles. I like many types of music as well stretching from Chopin to Steve Reich. Thats it. Oh, one more thing not to do with the bio. I hope its alright that i have Star Ocean 2 for album (not to mention its called Star Ocean The Second Story. If thats a problem tell me and ill change it. My computer is real slow so it takes me a while to upload my music) I did put www.overclocked.org for the url, so i hope thats ok. Thanks, BlueEnvy

Hi, djpretzel! My name is Curt Castro (CountCurt). I'm a newbee, but I wanted to submit this song to you. Being in grad school, I don't get much time to compose or remix, but I gave it a shot. Just wanted to contribute to all the wonderful game music on the site! Thanks for all your great effort at keeping such a great site going. Lemme know what you think of the song...even if you think it stinks! Hehe...In the meantime, God bless! The song is called Chrono Cross Sailing Chrono Style based on the Another World theme...one of my favs. Curt

Hi! I'm a long time fan of the site, and I'm happy to try and make a contribution... I never really thought I would be able to, but I just started using the addictive and approachable (and brand new) GarageBand from Apple. Before I knew it, I was composing my first bits of music. This one was my first focused challenge. (On the 3rd day of having the software.) My wife Amy and I worked this little piece out based on a Castlevania tune. I can scarcely play the piano (I'm now trying to learn), so she did the foundational melody work, everything else is me, Aaron Sullivan. Call us Amaron. Here is the submission: By the way, the music starts simple... but there's plenty more if you give it a chance. There are parts here and there that I think don't perfectly mesh, but I like the "sloppy" moments for repeated listening and I decided that moving on to a new piece with what I've learned from this one would be better time spent then endless noodling. Anyway, hope you enjoy the music... I'll be making more, because even if no one listens, it's just so much fun. Regarding GarageBand: I'm pretty amazed by it. Anyone who has an entire studio setup and knows the in and outs of pro software and midi equipment probably won't get too jazzed about it, but that's not what it's for. It's for no hassle, no barrier music creation for those who don't have time to become pros. There is the issue that many people might use the 3000 loops ad nauseam (there are far less without the Jam Pack.) The loops are cool and all (especially for ideas and quick sketches), but I've only used a couple tiny moments of them in this piece... otherwise it's all software instruments and processing. Luckily I was able to borrow a nice Midi Keyboard from my brother (evolution mk-361c), but that's the only tool besides GarageBand that my wife and I used. (Well, I did use iTunes to convert from AIFF to MP3. ) Aaron Sullivan
