OK .. here's the deal. In August of last year, I submitted a remix to OCR. It kind of fell through the cracks, so on Wednesday, February 12, I submitted Yoshi's Story 'Island Echoes' OC ReMix in its place, and I haven't got a response since. I of course realized the delay long ago, but have been putting off this e-mail for a long time. Title: Yoshi's Story 'Island Echoes' OC ReMix By: Kooper909 Also! On my Remixer Info page, please add this image: http://www.fortestar.com/images/Avatar_Kooper909.jpg And change my home page address to http://www.fortestar.com/ , please. Thank you very much. I would really appreciate it if you could rush this ... it's been a year. I could have had a baby by now!

I like this, but it's rather close to the original (see http://www.cs.helsinki.fi/u/vvnurmi/music/modules/oldschool/Supercars_2.mod) - too close? -djp praise to the allmighty ocremix god! i haven't submitted to ocr before, though i've been a fan of the site for a long time .. i began remixing music in 1998, using fasttracker and fasttracker II .. nowadays i use reason 2.5, although this remix i'm submitting now IS from 1998 and tracked! the guitars is played live and sampled, not generated through software synths etc etc jada-jada.. my point is: the sound is kinda crappy .. BUT this sure aint one of those "import midi" things people use to do .. anyway, here's the url: http://ocr.hyperunknown.net/ i have done LOTS of game remixes and still have a huge directory of halfmade stuff so i guess i'll do a lot of these submitting thingies here's some info, im not sure how much you want though so i'll just write some .. my name is daniel, im 26 years old, from sweden .. my homepage is http://www.hyperunknown.net, my icq is 442717 and my email is hyperunknown@hyperunknown.net (duh?) keep up the good work with the site "live long and remix" -- mr. spock

Greetings. I'm submitting this remix I did of the song that plays during "Zone A" of the arcade game Darius. Called "Silverhawks Legacy", this remix is done in a late 80s/early 90s kind of Electronica Pop-like style. This one gave me a rough time in spots, and went through several versions before this version started coming together in a way I was liking. I tried to use the 80s-like sound, but give it a bit more complexity than the general 80s stuff was known to have. And, the key word here is "tried" *lol*. Here's the link... Also, since I know Darius wasn't exactly a heavily played arcade game, I'm including a lower quality recording of the original song from the arcade machine. Here's the link... Here's the info (it's also in the ID3v2 tags)... Remix by: The Coop Title: Silverhawk Legacy Copyright: Taito Year: 1986 System: Arcade Original Composers: Yasuhiko Tanaka, Hisayoshi Ogura, Naoto Yagishita, Tsukasa Nakamura, Eikichi Takahashi, Masahiko Takaki Game remixed: Darius E-mail: arforfaborb@cs.com Anyway, I really like the way this turned out and I hope you do as well. Thanks for your time. -- The Coop

My first submission in almost 50 years! It's been so long, in fact, that I did not even submit it properly the first time! Based on the Sega CD version of Ecco the Dolphin (completely different music than the cartridge versions), I used a rather "minimalist" approach to try to capture the somber mood from the game. It is not a note-for-note arrangement, but that's OK. I suppose I could add a few layers of sound effects like ocean water and whale/dolphin noise, but I don't think I wanna (plus I am too lazy). Anyway try not to fall asleep while you listen. The original musician is Spencer Nilsen.

Note - registering on SoundClick is pretty quick and will probably come in handy as more submissions are using it. I'll make the file available in the judges space whenever possible if you'd rather not...-djp Hello. My Name is John St.John. I go by the handle Trenthian anywho, is where it is at. It is titled His First Good Deed This mix was made using FL studio, soundforge, large quantities of soundfont goodness, patience and headache (low ram computer makes the sound crackle during realtime playback.) This is of course a resubmission. I was not Satisfied with the initial submission. i if soundclick renames the file, just paste "Breath_of_fire_His_First_Good_Deed_OCReMix.mp3" as the filename. soundfont - Orchestra -2 flutes, 1 oboe, 1 clarinet, Brass ensemble, 3 different flavors of orchestral string sections. individually 2 basses and 3 cellos, Harp, Timpani. soundfont - Rock and Pops Tombek, Electric Guitar (Flangerized,) Acoustic Guitar strums and Single note tones. Jazz Bass. Rhodes Piano with tremelo. bass drums. Soundfont- SFX I took all sorts of SFX from different sources and pieced together a slightly inefficient soundfont of the sfx used in this mix. I set it up like a drumkit and used it as such. I know, using sfx as rhythm and percussion is a corny hing to do. so i guess Im a corny guy. (maybe I didnt pull it off too well either. but it was initially for my own enjoyment anyways so nyah!) Audio just about all the percusion, Various EQ and Reverb effects. some phaser, and some flanger. now dissect this mix, and tell me how awesome I am... (or how lame I am.) Adore the site.

I sent this a week ago, but didn't get a conformation e-mail, so I assume something went wrong. I probably didn't click 'send' like some kind of moron. I thought this was fun... well, interesting ending there...-djp This is the music of the Green and Orange planets (respectively) from Konami's 1991 NES game Bucky O'Hare. I played the guitar and mixed it in FruityLoops with 3xOsc and samples from my Alesis SR-16. Also, a nice picture from the game: http://www.bus17.com/pics/bucky.png -dj Fezik (John Trent) john@bus17.com
