Feels like it's been years since I first saw this on the WIP forums. But it was worth the wait. I love it! Great job everyone!
-
Uh oh... it's already Tuesday and I have 3 completely separate concept remixes going. I need stop being so indecisive before it's too late.
You need to submit some of your mixes from this compo. They've been amazing and you haven't had an OCR mix since 2002

Hey Sir_NutS: Is the posted version of your song the finished one, or did you go back and add some stuff after the deadline like you mentioned you might earlier in the thread? If you have a more complete version, you should post it after the voting period ends, I'd like to hear it!
Good to job to all the ProtoMen last week, I was away from my PC all week but was able to vote on Sunday. I really enjoyed all the tracks! I was sad to see AeroZ go too, I thought your second-round track was very awesome as well! But congrats to pixelwave, you had some great stuff going on!
Nice MegaMan round 3 mixes too guys, great job!
-
I'm going to be out of the country all next week... hopefully I can download the mixes to my iPod tomorrow night and vote on my phone at the airport Sunday morning. I can't wait to hear what we got this round!
-
oh wow... haha I remember ModPlug tracker from back in the day as well.
Great mix. I love how the Wild Arms theme blends with FF here. Really nice work.
-
EDIT: By the way I also did a heat man remix a long time ago for VGMix. Probably 5 or 6 years ago. Here it is if you want to check it out:
Nice. I like it! In fact, you have done many Heat Man mixes now But have you done a Bubble Man mix? I guess I was just pointing out that GuitahHeroe has remixed both sources before.
Hyadain's done his own Heat Man vs. Bubble Man mix (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jY8jJRvwKS4), although the lyrics are rather vulgar, haha. Oh and I don't think the use of both sources would be close to 50/50 like prophetik would want

Niiiiiiiice. I like this. Yeah definitely sounds like Daft Punk, but that is not a problem IMO. Good work Anti-Syne.
-
hey hey, shoutout to Anti-Syne on the front-page. I'm liking it.
On topic: I'm looking forward to the TheGuitahHeroe and Sir_NutS showdown next round, and I guess you guys should have plenty of time since you both won by default... GuitahHeroe's already done an awesome Heat Man mix I think I remember from the WIP forums.
-
Now its time for me to go finish project mixes.
GOOD LUCK ALL, I WILL VOTE THIS TIME BRB!
You should finish your snake man/blade man mix from here too! It was awesome!
-
Besides, no amount of booze or time is gonna make my mix any better XD
Submitting.
Noooooooooo! Sir_Nuts! I thought you said you only had a minute done?
-
Hey guys 12pm EDT is noon, not midnight. You guys have more time...
-
That mustache is mesmerizing...
-
Good luck Gario!
-
@ Cyril the Wolf: I hope you go back and finish up your song. The more I listen to it the more awesome it gets. It's the best track I've heard from you, in my opinion. While it does stand on it's own as is, I would've liked to hear everything you had planned! Keep us updated if you do!
-
Hey guys, just wanna say, these Proto Man Round 1 mixes are pretty awesome.
I was just about to say the same. Great job Proto Men! Great mixes all around. I'm not sure which bracket has been more impressive thus far. Keep it up!
-
Sorry guys I've been super busy and I just can't make the deadline. I have about half of the mix complete; it is pretty swanky. I don't want to enter it though because it really is incomplete, so far only my source was used. I hope this doesn't ruin anyone's fun... I'll try to submit or post this later when I do complete the track, which I fully intend on doing.
If anyone wants to listen to my work-in-progress, here it is:
Awww... you should have subbed it anyway. People have subbed WIPs before. Who knows, maybe it would have been enough to win?
I liked what I heard too, nice!
-
EDIT: Nevermind.
lol retracting your previous statement?
-
I was not hitting on you, I was digging at Prophetik. I forgive the guy but damn...
Ok good, it's just you used my comment as your evidence, so I didn't want you to think I just wrote you off cause you were unposted. I liked your track quite a bit, and I'm looking forward to seeing what you do in the next round. Mixing Solar Man and Splash Woman should be interesting.
-
Which makes me sad because I LOVE OCR, I love making music for OCR, but I don't like this atmosphere of discrimination between posted mixers and unposted mixers around here lately.
Hey man, I wasn't trying to be an ass, I just said I hadn't heard of you before, and you were posting tons of updates in the thread, so I didn't know what to expect. I'm not a posted mixer either, and what you created sounded better than what I've done, so I have no room to talk on that subject.
And I did say I liked your track a lot. I was not trying to discriminate just because I hadn't heard of you before. That was definitely not my intention.
Edit: Gario and TheGuitahHeroe are unposted too and their stuff rocks.
-
But I have some ideas pumping in my head so I have something.
Hah Hah so punny
-
Yeah I don't really see the big deal... Starphoenix won by default so he had a whole extra week too. In most cases no one is going to be able to prepare ahead of time. Relax guys.
Edit: plus anyone who could make an assumption on their opponent, their opponent would be able to make the same assumption so the people actually in the matchup would have the same amount of time.

The only thing my eyes show is the reflection glow from my new 22" HD LED/LCD Monitor that I'm using to have more space while working in-DAW.
for some reason I started laughing really hard when I read that...
-
It's Friday and I only have AeroZ's submission. Proto Men are bringin' it down to the wire.
Uh oh... hopefully we don't have a bunch of drops
-
yes I've found it is pretty hard to achieve a realistic sounding orchestra on a computer, though hans zimmer does it pretty fine on some of his newer pieces :b
haha, yeah but I bet Hans Zimmer has access to software and tools well beyond our means
But yeah, the mixing/filtering and attacks of the notes will be key, not necessarily adding or removing instruments. Good luck!

I do believe last round you said you weren't happy with your mix... and then you defeated AeroZ
