  1. It... Look, my SCV is doing it's own thing when some thing comes and <shudder>. The poor SCV tries to get away and do it's job but the harassment just doesn't stop. Eventually the SCV just can't take it anymore and blows up, leaving behind a huge mess and a dang unfinished building.

    Drone harass is evil.

  2. Though if I switch to zerg, I'd rather retrain myself to keep armies on 1-4.

Your current setup could do just as well for zerg. Have 1 be your hatches, and then your queens as 2-4. That might get dicey if you get more than 3 expos though. When I play zerg, I usually have all of my hatches on 0 and I had until this point had individual hatches on 5-9, but uh... now that you guys mention it, it'd make more sense to use them for queens .

As for the 1-3 for armies, that's what I usually do for Terran but I don't think it really matters though. That's just what seemed most logical to me when I started playing and now it's just muscle memory. Use whatever your most comfortable with.

    EDIT:

Also, it seems that I'm still in platinum league

    High Five! Yeah platinum! :-)

  3. Hey whaddya know I'm in gold league now.

I've been exclusively playing Terran, but the more I think about it the more I want to switch to Zerg.

Zerg mechanics seem so much harder, though.

It's not really all that much harder. Just different. The biggest thing I had trouble with is trying to remember to vomit larvae with your queen. Find a build online and play around in a few custom games or against the computer until you get the hang of it.

Dunno why you'd switch though, Terran's by far the best.

I'm a Terran player myself, but I'd be happy to help out if you want it. (Koriantor.956)

EDIT: And I just realized! Starcraft 2 turns 1 today! Happy Birthday SC2! (And BGC)

  4. Because it's the new thing. If your product doesn't have the new thing, it's not new, and no one wants it.

The sad thing is that this is partially true...

My first thought when I saw windows 8 was "Wow, this is a really nice tablet interface... wait, this is for a desktop? What the heck?" I'd have to agree with djp, it really only looks like a pretty picture on top of windows 7. I'm hoping there's a way to turn the pretty pictures off.

  5. Single player campaign finished. Well done valve. Well done.

I was under the impression it was about 3 times as long as portal 1, but it didn't take me that long. I think I've gotten good at the portal mechanic (or perhaps there are a bunch of secrets I never bothered to get).

  6. I'm rather cheesed off that I can't actually participate in the ARG. I don't have the funds to buy the potato sack. However, I'm having a blast watching it. Videos and such sum it up pretty well.

  7. Well on the other hand, steam is doing the indie developers a huge favor. I imagine they paid the developers to add portal 2 content, and on top of that gave them HUGE publicity. The publicity alone is probably worth the indie dev's effort to participate in the pack.

  8. uh they have the highest number of cpu's on killing floor

I think it's most in need of people with potatoes

Which you can easily get by starting a local server and cheating to get the money. Then you can buy a potato at the shop easily.

EDIT: Sorry for double post. Truly sorry!

  9. It looks like it could be pretty fun, but $50 worth? I don't know. The original was pretty damn short, and it was noticeably cheaper. So unless this game's about twice as long (or longer), I'm going to have a hard time justifying that pricing point to my wallet.

Then I'll be sure to let you know if it's awesome enough or not. ;-)
