  1. Would you recommend using amp modelling software instead of a real amp plugged into an interface? I've noticed guitar rig sounds louder and clearer. If i use my amp i have to turn up to the point where i'm getting too much noise, i'm probably doing something wrong though.

  2. Man this is a tough one. I think the first game soundtrack i actually loved was Metropolis Zone from Sonic 2. I was 3 or 4 years old at the time and was terrible at the game. I managed to get to Metropolis once and then tried my hardest to get to it again because i loved the music so much, but i just couldn't do it. I came back to the game 10 years later when i fixed my Megadrive and managed to reach it no sweat. It filled me with so many emotions because all i had were faint memories of the tune. I've now listened to it too many times though haha The game soundtracks that really inspired me to create music would definitely be from the Donkey Kong Country series, Soul Reaver, Jazz Jackrabbit and F-Zero GX.
  3. Hi Cain, i have a few questions about your guitar recordings. How many layers do you tend to use for both rhythm and lead parts? And how would you generally EQ your tracks, again for both rhythm and melody? I'm trying to write some Floyd and "Beneath the Canopy" inspired music and i really want to get the best out of my guitar sound. Are there any useful tips you could give me when it comes to setting up tone on my amp? I appreciate any info you could give :)

  4. I've been looking around and the only differences i can find are the fact it comes boxed with a cd and startup manual. But it costs an extra 100 bucks, there must be some major difference? :S EDIT: Oops nevermind, i thought the CD was just for installation. I never saw that it contains thousands of samples.
  5. There isn't really any other way to read it, that's the exact words of the text :S
  6. I'm reading a book about computer music theory. It says, and i quote, "Generally levels of volume are measured in Decibels (dB), with 0dB being considered the quietest possible level of sound that the human ear can pick up". This statement has confused me because on the mixer in FL Studio it goes from -61dB to +2dB, and 0dB is in no way quiet. Can somebody tell me what's going on here?
  7. Nevermind it's sorted

  8. Full FL 10 Legit. Neblix i'll add you on Facebook and MSN. EDIT: Oops you don't have msn. I'll try and send it over facebook when you accept.
  9. I left it for a good 10mins and nothing happened. Can anybody suggest anything? I'm losing my mind!
  10. According to task manager it's running even if i click on it, even though i can't interact with it at all. It's always freezing on Sytrus in the project i'm trying to load.
  11. It actually won't open anything. Halfway through opening up any project it will freeze on a certain plugin or instrument eg Sytrus or Ride Cymbal. I've uninstalled and reinstalled and it still does it. Any suggestions?
  12. You could make a fantastic remix of this. Sounds right up your street :)

  13. http://i964.photobucket.com/albums/ae126/SonicBrewtality/Panning.png It's the Lean Pad. Cheers for the help. EDIT: That's a good point Rozovian, i'll check that out
  14. I fucking love you!

  15. Yeah i tried moving the panning control manually and it didn't work either. It's not my laptop speakers i'm playing through, it's proper speakers. Surely it must be something to do with FL because the volume controls are fine.
  16. No it's definetely not, it doesn't work if i play through speakers either.
  17. My panning automations only seem to work when i have my audio interface plugged in. If i plug my headphones straight into my laptop then the automation doesn't play. My volume automations are fine, it's just panning. Why is this?
  18. Oh right you mean the decibels. Like on the main mixer you see numbers from -61 to +2? Am i right in saying this?
  19. Yeah i find on playback i have to turn the audio tracks up to make it sound decent, but can't because of clipping. What's a dc offset? (Probably a stupid question)
  20. Well i find that my recorded tracks clip a lot when they're played back. My MIDI tracks can go a lot louder, but because i can't turn my recorded audio tracks up i have to turn the MIDI down and the whole piece just doesn't sound loud enough even though the monitor is telling me it's on the verge of clipping. EDIT: The audio tracks don't clip when i record them. I assumed this problem is because i'm not very good at recording audio into DAWs, i doubt it's the programs fault
  21. Oh nothing, i was just wondering that's all. EDIT: I know FL is used more for creating dance and electronica, so i thought maybe it's not made to give the best recording options or quality
  22. I've been recording my guitar into Fruityloops but i was wondering if any other DAWs do it better. Any suggestions would be much appreciated
