  1. Fantastic remix! Had such an overall epic sound. I wish i had the skills to do a remix like this, but for "In Amber Clad". Love that tune.
  2. This never happened when i used FL9. When i try to move something on the playlist it seems to keep duplicating itself :S Like i'll try and move an audio clip by dragging it a few milliseconds forward/backward. Then i'll drag it again and it'll reveal a duplicated clip that's it's been sitting on top of. What the hell lol. Have i turned something on i wasn't supposed to or is this actually a glitch?
  3. I've got my guitar plugged into my preamp and it has a control on it that lets you control how much sound i want to hear from my preamp and how much i want to hear from my computer. Thing is the guitar is coming in a few ms late on the computer. How can stop this happening? I thought preamps were meant to stop latency. EDIT: For some reason the sound that the computer producing isn't as loud as the sound on my preamp. Why is this?
  4. Here Neblix http://www.megaupload.com/?d=OIXKZRA9 That'll give you an idea of what my guitar's sounding like through FL. That's me trying to put a guitar part of Lady Gaga's song Born This Way, shitey and full of mistakes lol. I was fiddling about with volume and panning controls for ages and i couldn't seem to get the levels right. It probably doesn't help that i couldn't control seperate tracks of the Gaga song itself because i just dragged the mp3 into FL.
  5. "I would like my name changed to "kitty". All lower case please. Thanks! " "could i get a name change to "ambinate" (all lowercase)? thanks a bunch! " So the extreme circumstance thing is just bullshit really? haha They should probably change it on the FAQs because it does sound very intimidating and near impossible to get a name change. Thanks a bunch for the link mate, hopefully they'll change it.
  6. Could you please change my username to SonicSynthesis (with the 2 S's capitalised)? I just found out my current username is a slogan for a band so i can't label/watermark my compositions with it, or use it in the future. Thanks.
  7. If i'm unsure about something i'll not be afraid to ask. Don't think i'm being cheeky in this post, it's just a question. If there's some underlying point i'm missing then feel free to yell abuse at me for making a deal about nothing haha. So i quote " In extreme circumstances, you may request that the administrator change your username, but he or she will require a very good reason to do so." What is the big issue with changing usernames? I mean it's just a name. It can't be because it's hassle to do, because i was an administrator on a VBulletin forum and i know it takes literally 2 seconds to do. So what extreme circumstances are we talking about? You need to change your name because you're a valuable witness to a crime and bad people are out to get you? haha My situation is that i want to change my name because i found it's a slogan of a metal band and i can't use it in the future if i want buy the rights to it or whatever. I plan on becoming a professional composer/producer and i'd like my username to be the same as what i plan to name my studio, use as a watermark on compositions etc. If i have all my stuff under a different name then nobody would be able to find it easily. I've had to change my youtube channel name among other things and i'd like to change it on here as well. I'm not exactly 'big time' on the site either, i've basically added no friends and made less than 100 posts. I mean i can understand if DJPretzel changed his name everybody would be extremely confused haha. So do you reckon there's any point in me submitting a name change request, or is this case not EXTREME and HARDCORE enough? lol Ok maybe i was a bit cheeky, sorry. I love this site very much <3
  8. Ok cool, i'll need to re-install Skype. It'll have to be after the weekend because i'm dead busy, I'll contact you when i'm free though.
  9. Yeah that worked thanks. I still can't get my audio levels right though. My guitar sound doesn't stand out compared to the midi instruments, and i can't seem to find a decent level that keeps the instruments loud and sounding good. Are there any guidelines that you could give me about setting levels? Also the only way i can get sound out of both sides of my headphones is if i pan the guitar channel abotu 90 degrees to the right. Is that the right thing to do?

  10. Well i bought myself an audio interface which has got rid of hissing and latency and improved my overall guitar sound. I still can't work the audio levels though, i need a guideline to work from. When i playback a recording it's always a bit quiet, and for some reason when i'm playing there's an odd reverb effect, but when i play back it's gone. Another thing is my interface has a left and right input, i'm plugged into the left but it's only producing sound out of the left side of my headphones. I have to pan about 90 degress to the right for it to come out of both. Is this normal? So is there any way you could give me a generic audio level setup that i can work from, it would be a big help. I've looked on youtube and can't find any helpful videos
  11. Kudos on Battle For The Badge. I can't stop listening to it :)

  12. Sonic Adventure. I mean what the fuck was that shit about.
  13. Ok update, i realised i had the preamp-computer control turned all the way to preamp so i wasn't getting any sound from the computer /facepalm. I get the computer sound through both sides of my headphones but still get the guitar only from the left side. Also there is still some sound coming from my laptop speakers, mainly heavy crackling. I've set the input and output on the master FL mixer to the USB Codec, so why am i getting this sound from my laptop? :S

  14. Also another problem, i want to play along with the beat i've pre written but my guitar sound is coming out of my headphones and my beat is coming out of my laptop speakers :S How do i get all the sound to go through the headphones? My headphones are plugged into the pre-amp, not my laptop.

  15. Ok that worked thanks. I'm only getting sound out of the left side of my headphones though. I discovered it's because i'm plugged into the left input, but is there any way i can get sound out of both sides?

  16. The way i've set it up is my guitar is connected to my amp, then i have a lead coming from the headphone output in the amp and going into the interface. Then the interface is connected to the laptop by the USB, and i've plugged my headphones into the back of the interface. Is that correct?

  17. Hey my ART USB Pre arrived today but i'm having trouble gettting sound out of it in FL Studio. In my sound device manager i selected the USB audio codec and it shows that it's picking up sound from my guitar. In FL I go to the Audio Settings and select Speakers ( USB Audio Codec) but i'm not getting any sound. It's probably some stupid thing i'm overlooking because i don't really know anything about this haha. Any ideas?

  18. So seeing as i'm more into music creation and not wanting to record other peoples stuff, what would you recommend as a good path for me to take? EDIT: I just finished watching your Making Music from Hobby to Profession videos on your Youtube channel and found them very insightful. I like the idea of composing for and Indie game company to get my foot in the door. I spend a lot of time checking out Indie games (mainly 2D ones) as their soundtracks tend to interest me more than a full orchestral piece in a Star Wars game for example. I recently discovered an Indie game called Night Sky, even though it was out in 2009. I have to say i've never seen a game soundtrack compliment atmosphere so well since way back when i first played Soul Reaver. I love how the soundtrack alone has the ability to immerse you in the games world. And i have to say when you mentioned Super Meat Boy in your video it put a smile on my face because i think that game has one of the catchiest soundtracks in history. Kudos to the composer. I can definitely see me wanting game soundtracks to become part of my life, even if it's not the main part. It's just other things to keep me on my feet which i'm having trouble figuring out.
  19. So is synth and sample development creating packs and such for FL Studio etc, which are then bought? Also video game music, do you actually make game soundtracks? Did you compose for any well known games?
