  1. Well, anyway, that sounds pretty good to be a sampled jazz guitar with distortion As for the guitars, did you try with less reverb?
  2. Thanks! But anyway, I'm using external orchestral samplers VSTs, I'm just sequencing on FL Studio. The only thing you need is lots of free RAM (when the FL session for this track is fully loaded, the RAM usage in my computer rises to more than 3 GB).
  3. Since I'm new on this genre, I'd like to get some feedback on this tune I'm making. http://soundcloud.com/fernito/chiptune-v4-1 Thanks in advance guys!
  4. Sorry, I got confused because you said it was MIDI. I thought it was a MIDI track. Oh, nevermind. As my signature says, I'm not einglish native speaker, so I get confused often! And man, that is a distorted ORGAN??????¿?¿? haha, that makes me think: who needs a guitar?? It sounds pretty good! I wonder how you made that harmonics-effect at 1:12. If you played all that, then you did it very well, it was a very good performance IMO.
  5. Oh, sorry! My bad! When I read "awesome stuff, I'm listening more right now" I thought you were listening to my other stuff (see my signature ) As for your tip, sadly I wouldn't be able to do so, because that specific sample works in such way that the sound will always have the same duration, no matter whether it is a whole note or a sixteenth note. Anyway, thanks for your interest on helping me with this ^^ I really appreciate it.
  6. hehe, thanks! ^^ Where is the stuff you're listening at? Myspace, YouTube?
  7. I don't know, I think the mix is a bit messy because of the excessive reverb. I usually don't put reverb to the rythm guitar, NEVER put reverb to the bass, and maybe a subtle reverb for the drums. As for the solo/lead guitar (or let's call it the "high-sounding guitar") and keyboards, they usually must have a considerable level of reverb and/or delay IMHO. The bass drum is kindof "lost" in the mix too, I'd rise its volume a bit. Also, is it me, or the hits are kind of desynced at 0:39? Well, after all those comments, I think the track is pretty good You play the guitars or they're sampled? I didn't undestand that part
  8. I dunno, IMO the guitars sound way too loud compared to the rest of the stuff. I can hardly hear the drums. Anyway, the track sounds pretty kickass! PS: BTW, those guitars sound AMAZING, I can't believe they're sampled.
  9. Thanks for the sample, very explanatory Anyway, I'm using a sequencer (FL Studio), and the cello samples have a keyswitch that allows me to change the sound from "normal bowing" to "quicker bowing" and others, so that's the way I solved it. Here's the new version. Does it sound better now? http://www.mediafire.com/?nviooqnjyzn
  10. Well, this is odd. I wonder why these files are getting deleted from my account. Here's the new link: http://www.mediafire.com/?ymmlmg2ymmz
  11. Here's the MP3 in case you wanted to download it: http://www.mediafire.com/?mztjjdmmzny I added and corrected some stuff, so this version is improved over the YouTube one.
  12. I must warn you: as most of the tracks I've posted here, this is not a remix, it's just a cover (the same tunes, just better sounding) Enjoy!
  13. Yep, you're totally right. I also thought it could have a quicker bowing in that part, but I wasn't able to find a better sounding sample. Thanks for the feedback anyway EDIT: OK, for some reason I missed the quicker bowing samples when I was looking for it. I'll update it as soon as I have some spare time! Thanks again!
  14. A friend of mine, who is a songwriter, asked me to do a collab work. He wanted an epic orchestral ending for his last song, so I took the main melody of his song (which is the one in piano you can hear from 0:18, and started working. This is the result: Comments are welcome, as always.
  15. At first it was like a hopeless "OK, let's give a try to these tunes" but then when I started listening at them it was like "WOW". I really liked your tracks, they're kinda atmospheric and relaxing, but energic at the same time. Very good work mate, keep it up!
  16. Thanks for your comments guys. When I started sequencing this track I said "well, let's first sequence it exactly as the original version, and then I'll add some of my own". Sadly I've been out of inspiration so I haven't added anything of my own to it, that's the reason why it sounds just like the looped original version. I'll work on it someday though
  17. As other tracks I've posted before, I wouldn't say this is a remix, so let's say it's just a "version". I put the "?" there because I'm not sure if this music actually belongs to the Rainbow Resort world. Here's my version: http://www.mediafire.com/?xjndmkhf2wn Here's my version on YouTube in case you don't want to download the track: And here's the original track: Any comments and questions are welcome.
  18. Thanks for your kind comments guys I don't know, maybe I'll submit the Duke Nukem II track. I must talk with the band guys first @Esker: fixed the link of the Batman track. I wonder why the track got deleted from my Mediafire account.
  19. haha, there are very nice ones. I really enjoyed the Resident Evil and Terminator ones. BTW, ever seen automatic Mario? This thing rocks: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OM0ib4GxLPw
  20. Some japanese guy made a ReMix with the commercial of Contac, some japanese flu pills. I've watched this video several times, and I always end up laughing. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HP9ifECk388 I'm pretty sure the music comes from a game, but don't know which. At least, I can identify the music that plays when you finish a level in Kirby. PS: Not sure if this goes here, so if you have to move it, do so
  21. Wow, thanks a lot man! I'll take a lot at those later
  22. Man, I really couldn't help with some technical criticism, but I consider myself as someone that can appreciate good music, and I liked all the tunes I listened at. I dind't downloaded all of them, only 5 or 6, but all they were really good stuff IMHO. PS: Would you mind telling me what chiptune VSTs you use? I'm specially interested on a good chiptune percussion VST, which I haven't been able to find on the net.
  23. Thanks for the feedback LC! As for your comments, yes, I actually said that these aren't remixes, but the same original tracks with better sound I'm working on a Kirby's Adventure remix right now, maybe after that I'll work on a remix for one of these. Anyway, are these tracks of mine good as "updates", as you called them?
  24. I second what ambient said. Even knowing that this WIP is going to be a remix of that track, I can't find any resemblance between them both. BTW, doesn't the original one sound a bit like "Never gonna give you up"? xD
  25. Thanks a lot for the welcome and for taking the time to listen at the track and commenting about it As for the track, wow, you destroyed it! Seriously talking, you didn't wrote anything good about it Is it that bad? What can I say in my defence? xD Well, as for the points "too conservative", "too repetitive" and "too short", don't know if I said it, but I intended to make this version as faithful as possible to the original track, and the original is repetitive AND short, so I couldn't help it Now, what do you mean with "this song can do much more"? It means like there's a lot of room for new arrangements? Well, I also think the same, and I actually thought of making some original arrangements, but then I said "hey, I better don't add to much new things to it, or it won't sound like the original one". As I said, I wanted to make it as similar to the original as possible. Maybe someday I'll make a remix for this track. As for lacking of energy, I'm aware of that, but I guess I can't do better with the instruments I chose. For example, I replaced the original bass with cellos. The original bass is very... errr... "funky", so to speak (LOL), so I chose the bowing technique that sounded more "energical" in my sample library, but even with this it doesn't seem to sound strong enough. Any recommendations? As said earlier, thank for commenting on the track, and I'll be looking forward to your comments on the other 2 tracks. But, I warn you: they are VERY close to the original themes haha. PS: I used FL Studio and a symphonic orchestra sample library.
