  1. Hi Remixers, This is one of the few pieces I've posted anywhere. My intention was to make this as battle music to a non-existent game. Hope you like. Thanks! https://soundcloud.com/celestialsonata/perennial-spirit
  2. Hi remixers! I'd like to post my first remix. This is from the Final Fantasy I track called "Scary Dungeon." This is a work-in-progress project. I'm still trying to figure out the ending. Let me know what you think and I hope to improve it over time. Thanks! Original: Remix: http://soundcloud.com/celestialsonata/scary-dungeon-60-222sec
  3. I just bought Komplete 7 and used Guitar Rig 4 that was included in the package. I don't have any latency issues using it while recording my guitar through my M-Audio FastTrak+ box with 256 samples. The ASIO driver I used was the M-Audio one.
  4. I used to be all about completing as much as I can, but not at 100%. Over the years, I've collected so many games, many unopened, that I just want to finish one so I can move onto the others. I value the storyline more than anything else, so getting the best weapons or the most trophies aren't worth it to me if it will feel like working instead of enjoying.
  5. @Netblix Which day are you going? Doing VIP pass? @ZealPath Yea, I'll be happy to share my experience there.
  6. Yea, they're on a different price tier. It includes a meet-and-greet, photo session, and some other stuff along with it. @Modus: I couldn't agree with you more. I fell out of my seat when I first found out about it.
  7. I was going to create a thread about this topic until I saw this one. I'm going on Saturday along with five other friends. We all have VIP tickets to meet Nobuo Uematsu. I'm super excited! Anyone else going?
  8. For the sake of time and until I develop a better ear, I'll go with two and make it perfect. I'll experiment with four sometime next week.
  9. Since each is panned differently, they'll need to go on different mixer tracks. Should I apply the exact same EQ on both tracks or should it differ slightly? These are great tips! Can't wait to rerecord and listen to the results.
  10. I tried out Guitar Rig 4 and fell in love with it, it got me the sound I've been trying to get. When doubling tracking rhythm guitars, is that simply duplicating the rhythm guitar track on top of the other or should I rerecord it?
  11. Yea, that's the muddiness area right, around 250-800Hz? When I listen to the recorded guitar, it sounds like it's not playing along well with the rest of the track, as in it's not blending. I think part of it is that it sounds like it's distant and I'm trying to get it to sound like the guitar is closer to the listener without having it sound too loud.
  12. Does anyone know of any sites or have presets for EQing guitar? I'm trying to get a good sound out of my guitar. I'm using the following plugins on guitar input mixer track: Nick Crow Wagner Mk2 Sharp (Drive 10, Bass 10, Mid 5, Treble, 5, Power Amp 5, Master 5) keFIR (mono) with Mesa Boogie Studio 22 331 Edge 48s.wav (Mix 100%, Gain -35.6dB, Length 0.05 sec/6%) Fruity Parametric EQ2 I have no idea how to set the Fruity Parametric EQ2 to get a good distorted sound out of my guitar. It often sounds like it's far away. Ideally, I want it to sound like Sixto's "The Path to Glory ~Theme of Bartz~" guitar. Also, is it better to record it flat then EQ the recorded guitar? Or should I keep the EQ plugin on the guitar input mixer track? Much appreciated!
  13. I'm using FPC in FL Studio for drums. Is there a way to mute a cymbal after it's been hit, the same way it would sound as if a drummer grabs the cymbal after they just hit it with a drum stick? Thanks.
  14. Perfect, thank you! That makes things so much easier now.
  15. I'm still fairly new at using FL Studio and wanted some input on this. Using the Slayer generator, I want to be able to switch between palm muting and regular strumming. I've set it up so that I have two different Slayer channels, one with the Damp knob low for regular strumming, one with the Damp knob up for palm muting. I alternate the chords between each Piano roll so that it would sound like one guitar. Is this a good way to incorporate palm muting or are there better ways to achieve this? I'm using FL Studio XXL 9.1. Thanks in advance!
  16. The first time I remember appreciating video game music was Megaman 2. It was not until Final Fantasy VII that I truly focused onto the video music genre.
  17. I've downloaded it before and it allowed me to save the FL Studio files but not open them. You can however export .WAVs that you can play in another program.
  18. Hey OC, I just joined here. I've been a fan of OCRemix music for a long time; it's filled up nearly half my iPod. I listen to the music almost daily, in my car, at work, and when I'm chilling on my computer. I've decided to join now because I plan on making music as part of my life and I'd like to join the community which I felt made one of the biggest influences in my love for music. I've been a musician for many years and I've just started to get into music composition using software. I've purchased FL Studio and hope to make the best out of it. Perhaps someday I'll have some songs good enough to be in the OCRemix collection.
