  1. working on an mp3 link, but i am unsure of how to convert it to an mp3 file (it is as of right now a wma file; Windows Media Audio file...) as for the source: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mPRtYS5qXEw will post the mp3 link ASAP!
  2. WIP Pokemon R/S/E Dive Theme ReMix. Its on like page 3 of the WIP forums page, near the bottom.
  3. I may have missed this update before, but im looking to change one of my songs with a "work in progress" prefix to a "MOD Review" prefix. Is there a way i can do that on a thread that i posted myself? thanks for your help.
  4. LOL i think i changed it ninja style Idk, i understand what you mean with the bass drum, that part pertains; you want a deeper, louder kick drum which unfortuantely is not provided very well on garageband. It does seem sort of half and half tho; the volumoe modulation thing seemed to throw me for a loop. LOL well anyways thanks for your "half-critque"
  5. My computer blocks tindeck automatically As for the "sour" sound at 0:49, i think you're referring to the blend between the bass line and the F# played by the lead synth simultaneously. That is only temporary dissonance. I placed that note delibrately and specifically; its a chromatic desent until the last note, which is a Db. As for volume automations, i guess i should put some more on the drums, shouldnt i? lol As for low end sounds, idk what would be missing, its got constant bass, constant (and really low) chordal sounds in the background. If you're referring to a brass instrument, i am very limited as to what i have in low end instruments there. As for the kick drum, that is also very limited in sound. The way garageband processes it, the real kick drum would not fit in at all. I have it on a "techo" kick drum, which is actually in frequent use. thank you for the suggestions, though the picture you have makes it seem like you pity the WIP people. XD
  6. My latest remix, up for review by anyone. please tell me what you think. youtube link: (will probably put in a share site soon)
  7. lol about your last comment; I myself am for upbeat yet still epic songs; i absolutely HATE the rival battle music from D/P/Pt. I also agree with the music intensity factor; that's why i changed that other chord before, because i thought it added a cool build and intensity to the end. As for the 9th of Eb minor, it is actually just a straight F (as i am not intending for there to be a b9; i dont believe b9 is in the chord anyways; the minor has enough flats; the 9th is similar--pretty much is-- to the second except up an octave. Unless there's a flat nine. Fb would be just like moving up a half step) Its pretty funny how pokemons supposed to be a friendly game, yet those were the same minds who had thought up the Mother series before. LOL
  8. Personally, this was my favorite arrangement of HG/SS. I thought the modulation to major was a pretty cool change, a way to make it a bit more cheer, as well as stay in the action. That really was the HG/SS part of the song. I can tell a lot of people are biased against major, but there isnt really much wrong with it. its all music. I'm thinking of maybe instead of doing a major transition there to instead transition up a halfstep in minor, or possibly to the ninth of the Eb minor chord. what do you think?
  9. Okay, so there have been a few changes ive made out of originality. i altered just a few chords for a different effect. this is probably the piece where i have the most drums. I thought it was pretty cool. but please, tell me what you all think!!! Link: http://www.youtube.com/user/AlmightyArceus#p/u/6/3bo4ZBBzZms
  10. gracias bobby emerald. I did think by the end the synth got a little bit dullish...i also do want to extend the piano solo, and so i will. thanks for the suggestion imma find the perfect tie in with the synth; most likely a more solid insturment. maybe an acoustic guitar (that would also widen the soloing ability)
  11. Gracias i really loved the piano with it; it was a nice touch of solidity to the rest of the liquid instruments. I'm glad that my composing fit in so well that it was non-deviatable from the original. That means it flowed really well, which was what i was aiming for
  12. bummer. no feedback two weeks? sorry for bumping guys, but it seemed very neglected for some reason. again sorry, i just wanted some feedback. after all, thats what this wall is for, right?
  13. So this is my latest creation, used without any MIDI (or sheet music, as i couldn't get any anyways) assistance. it was made entirely from my ear, and my own interpretations. Some of the inaccuracies were due to the style i wanted it to have. i thought it sounded cool. anyways, here's the link! (i may put it in a different place besides youtube soon)
  14. your lead, as had been mentioned before, is very weak. I really love the deep guitar shredding in the background though, so if you can, try to make that guitar resemble it in sound quality (not necessarily in range). Also, as Slygen has said, increase the volume. maybe just a pinch of distortion and reverb would work; dont go overboard as it may end up just sounding like "rock soup" I don't really have a problem with the drums; its a guitar feature, but it wouldnt hurt to possibly make them louder. you could even save a second version with roaring drums to make it even sweeter (as we all know epic drums= epic music 90% of the time ) the volume is really the main concern of this, otherwise, nice job
  15. *facepalms* I KNOW sight is one of my five senses! THATS MY POINT! you were like "im pretty sure reading sheet music is not learning by ear sorry" and I said "I never said it was (LEARNING BY EAR) I use only my five senses," which INCLUDES sight!
  16. Yes , you're spot on with the "arrangement...referrence" quote. I dont want to take it all in already created for me; i like plugging it in myself. I know MIDI and qheet music are equal to each other, its just a personal perferrence not to use it.
  17. I never said it was. i said i use my FIVE SENSES. (ie, SIGHT) I said i rarely use it because I listen by ear most of the time.
  18. precisely. Sheet music=sense of sight and hearing; MIDI equals nothing as it is premade for you. With sheet music i have to manually measure it. Plus i only use the sheet music for the parts i cant hear in the music. and quite frankly, in the r/s/e dive theme, alot of the triplet ntoes are hard to hear, especially at a tempo of 196. Lol my ethics may seem a little confusing, but i just dont like taking the easy way. it's moer fun to enter it urself
  19. Im talking about a set of notes to reference. i take the notes and alter them/add stuff to them. plus i really dont like the way the MIDIs process on the program i use. plus, i am more of a sheet music person. also, by ear is what i usually do, so a slowed down version of the song would also be appreciated.
  20. Hello! I was wondering if anyone happened to have of would be able to provide me with sheet music to the Pokemon R/S/E dive theme. OR if someone could provide me with a version of it that is slowed down, as i can not clearly hear some of the notes as it is at a tempo of 196. I am a reixer who just HATES to use MIDIs to make remixes. I like making mine "from scratch"; that is, using only my five senses, NOT a premade track. anyways, please post a link fi you can provide these. thanks
  21. Its weird how different their pixelation is from the other sprites for previous generations. The pictures of the 3 legendary dogs differ highly from the zoroark pixelation.
  22. yeah that half step is kind of weird...i think the original chord might have been a Db...but im not sure...either way i took the bass note to form the chord and thought it sounded cool. plus you know solo chords can vary a little bit, as they do in a lot of songs.
  23. well for starters, the intro is off in its timing. and the intro sounds like a doorbell, so unless you want it to, i suggest changing it to something different and stronger. It also remains to be very bland with little to no musicality. You need to broaden the amounts of instruments in the intro, at most points you're just using a sax. try different instruments. add piano! it needs chordal tones! it needs a stronger bass! it NEEDS a DRUM BEAT! also, i don't really like the sudden octave jump of the 1st sax; you could hav the melody change to a diferent instrumetn for that part or something. .....oh goodness. sorry im listening to this phrase by phrase. and my goodness it kind of crashed for a bit at the bass/piano entrance at :48. first, the timing is COMPLETELY off for the entrance of those instruments, and it keeps the piano and bass ahead of the melody by a few beats. It i terribly terribly clashy here; an absolute train wreck. the sound for the bass is absolutely atrocious: either bring it up an octave or so, or completely change its ambience or the bass all together. Oh i know, the bass is way too reverbish/echoey...so tone that down a ton. then when its just he bass and piano, teh bass overpowers the piano, and it is again bland. at about 1:10 i hear this really really weird alien ambient sound that is jsut weird and freaky. i really have no idea what it is, but it also clashes. and THEN it takes a solo at 1:44?!!? im sorry, but i must be frank and say that it isnt really a good choice at all. Its super pitchy, idk if thats on purpose or what, but it far from matches the feel of the song. and it makes it sound really sloppy. Now on a more positive part: it starts sounding a bit "cooler at 1:56 with the guitar and (new)bass entrance. i really like the sound of that bass a lot better than the other one, and its actually in time now! overall i like that chorus a lot more...the instrumentation is a lot cooler there. i just think its sounds a bit better. of course it still needs chords and backgrounds and improvs and whatnot, and of course a DRUM LINE!!!!!!!! You could change the pitchy background synth to a cool chordal piano background, and that would make it sound a whole ton better.... AYY!! at the 2:43 entrance, ti becomes out of time again! NO!!!! i thought it would make it to the end without another train wreck like that!...but it settles out at the end.... Okay, so i know this is a whole ton to take in, and it may sound a bit critical, but im just telling you your mistakes so that you can fix them and make it a better piece! this piece has a really long way to go, but you can do it! I hope this suffices as feedback! ----THE ORIGINAL ONE
