  1. For those that care, the Beta got updated today with changes to Tomislav, Sandvich, and the Enforcer.

Tomislav lost its fast spinup, so its stats are now silent spinup and -20% rate of fire.

Picking up your own Sandvich from the ground merely returns it to you, instead of restoring HP.

The Enforcer affects decloak speed instead of cloaking speed and removes the ability to see enemy HP.

The Sandvich needed nerfing? REALLY? :banghead:

  2. Quasi-running joke. Every other patch has "Updated ____ localization files" and people complained whenever a patch didn't fix this bug or that, but instead had the localization files updated.

I need a name for this. Any suggestions?

Bloody useful spy blocker? eh, I got nuthin'.

In an unrelated query, anyone here play Synergy? There's a few maps a friend and I want to try but I think they require at least 3 people.

  3. Foundry achievement whoring was a lot of fun tonight. :)

I tried my hand at some token crafting for the Pyro and Scout tonight, hoping I might luck out with a Maul or Three-Rune Blade if I didn't get one of the new weapons. Pyro was a bust, but I wound up with a Wrap Assassin, so it wasn't a total wash.

Seven tries but I finally crafted a Eureka Effect. BOOYAH. And then the Pomson dropped in one. I was like

  4. So, I dunno if this is the gift I was supposed to get as part of the new contest's first objective, but I have a steam coupon for 50% off anything Valve-published. That said, I already own everything Valve-published, so if anyone wants it, I'm willing to trade. Unless that's what everyone got. In which case... er, how about them local sports team?

  5. Did a search and found no results so I'll just post here since it's the most likely place to get some crossover: Anyone play Nuclear Dawn? I'm having fun with it and think that if there's enough interest we could maybe get an OCR server of it going. Well, that's up to PL of course.

    Just a thought.

And now back to your regularly scheduled TF2 hats.

  6. They are tradeable.

And thank god someone replied so I can say this in a separate post.

Valve's Linux server update deleted an important server file and the server will be down until they ship another update that adds the updated version of said file. Right now, the server just crashes on startup, even with addons disabled.

I believe that qualifies as a whoops.

  7. Whoops, RED is 74.91.113.40:27015

Anyway, the return of a decent second server also means the return of the events server, if we so choose. Any particular things people want to try out?

Prophunt was fun. Beyond that I'm not sure. Maybe that Vs. Saxton Hale mode? I've never tried it before.

  8. Good afternoon everyone. It's time to play another round of Test That Server!

Today's server is at 74.91.113.17|:27015 (soon to be test.ocrtf2.com:27015) which I set up earlier today.

If this server does well, we will be moving BLU to 74.91.113.17 and RED to 74.91.113.40 (located on the same server).

While this server is not strictly a dedicated server, we have two cores for our exclusive use, and I am hosting nothing but the two TF2 servers from this service. Oh, and we gain the working auto-updater that our old system had. \o/

I finally figured out what I was doing wrong with Replay FTP offloading and Replay will soon be available across all servers, old *and* new.

Additionally, I hope to upgrade both SourceBans and HLStatsX to their recently released new versions this weekend.

    Also, updated pl_swiftwater to final_rc.

All seemed well on the test server for me tonight. No hiccups, good ping, all that good stuff.

  9. I noticed that the Spy animations file updated with this update. I assume the Sharp Dresser has new animations to it, despite acting identically to the Knife.

Then again, I have a Strange Knife, so it doesn't exactly do a lot for me.

Considering how the hidden blades work in AC, this Sharp Dresser couldn't really use the standard knife animations.

Also, I WANT THIS KNIFE TO GO WITH THE BOWTIE. :nicework: (Though I will never buy a Ubisoft game on PC again, so I'll have to wait until it enters the crafting cycle)

  10. What you may want to do, is to emulate what Rambo used to do, and set up a time for people to come and do some semi serious scrimmages on a passworded server (to reduce visitation by pubs).

Set up actual teams, and play in stop watch mode on the various maps that are used for competition play. (steel, gravelpit and the like)

That way ,once you discover a tournement you want to play, you've got some people ready made to join up.

I'm sure a mod or two would be willing to give you a hand, if powerlord's got the tourney configs setup.

    This.

  11. Sitting in BLU for a couple of minutes actually wound up working. Phill joined, then Frogg, then a couple more. Fun was had!

I invited a few myself, but only !! took the bait. And necro seemed a little annoyed.

(I only sent one invite to a given person. I'm not a jerk. :P)

  12. I'm also in on the SWTOR beta...... Plus what brush said.

if you want to play, you should hang out on OCR and see if you can seed it. Once the servers in the list you might at least get random pubbies, till the regulars can get on.

To add to this, as far as I know, it's not impolite to send game invites to people on your list, so when you join, send out some invites and see who bites. Unless they're skyrimming or something. Aw heck, even then.

Also, thanks Lyrai for the gogglestash!
