  1. I think when it comes down to it I could get better. I seem to recall that just knowing I was doing that one tournament caused me to start performing really well for the next few days afterwards.
  2. I would love to get involved in competitive play.

I would say the only thing that annoys me sometimes is seeing a situation where some quick, easy teamwork would make something much easier (Destroying a GM sentry for example) but just no one steps up to the plate to make it happen. I feel like calling it out and saying, "Okay guys, lets do this. We need two medics..." etc. but I get the impression everyone will just ignore me. Instead we beat our heads against whatever is blocking us (GM sentry) for 6-8 minutes when a tiny bit of coordination would have it down in less than 3.

In a pub environment where people end up mindlessly going for kills more than trying to work together and accomplish goals, its really easy to tunnel vision and just start mindlessly slamming your head against the opponent. If you decide to play again Hoopy, next time you play remind yourself that you and every other player are vulnerable and can die easily when outnumbered. Try and work together and stick close to your teammates. Don't run around completely alone, stick with your buddies and look for openings for attack. I know you play Pyro a lot, which is a class that many would argue is significantly underpowered in a lot of situations.
  5. yeah I meant 'useful' in the most situational sense. I really don't think any Spy is going to be switching out their preferred for this.
  6. First impression: All of the weapons look really cool, only the revolver sounds outright useful. Hopefully they're all fun though. That engineer arm cannon sounds fun.

  9. So I've asked about this on the official forums but nothing has helped so far. Recently after re-installing the game I've been having this issue where my drop rate seems to drop to about 10 for a brief few seconds. As much as I hate to say it Paranoid, I think you may have to find a way to shrink the map design because I really do think the MASSIVE scale of it is what was bringing it down more than anything else. It was just simply too big and it often felt like it was taking much too long to get anywhere. I will say that I didn't have a bad time on your map, and I'll clarify by saying this: There are some maps that when you play them you just don't enjoy the experience, and despite the flaws that didn't happen here. I think you have a good sense of design when it comes to variety of platform heights, which inherently makes a map more fun than one that is simply on flat ground.
  12. I've heard that the replay system doesn't allow you to make cuts and arrange them any way you want. It has to be chronologically correct with what was happening at the time. You can't cut big junks of time out.

  14. THE PROPHECIES WERE TRUE. WE DO GET MEDALS. Watch none of us get any. AND the item server has been down since the update. Okay, I just got a video idea based on THIS little tidbit of information: Players can be telefragged whether they are ÜberCharged or not. So here is what we need: A full server 12 engineers on one team 6 medics and 6 whatever class (I was thinking Heavy since the Heavy-Medic combo is the most iconic ubercharge variant) 1 more person to film/oversee the project. 1.)Create a straight row of teleport exits, and have alternately Heavy,Medic,Heavy,Medic, etc. standing on them. 2.)Have the engineers line up next to the row of teleporter ENTRANCES. 3.)Medics uber their targets. 4.) Engineer's use their teleporters. 5.) Engineers taunt laugh. 6.) Everyone dies happy.
  15. Maybe it was just the server I was on but TF2 seems super broken these last few days.
  16. is there something wrong with GameBanana? You know, it actually makes a lot more sense for it to be a Spy head since spies have the ability to see enemy health, and the fact that the head was in the Meet the Team video but the Solemn Vow wasn't.
  17. The server pings on NEW BLU weren't very good tonight. A lot of people with 100-150 including myself for long stretches at a time.
  18. Nah it'll just freeze up the game in that fidgety laggy way and after about 20 seconds you will be on a separate, duplicate server with all of the same player's names copied to bots.
  19. I forgot to mention this, but the amount of exits from the RED spawn seemed really excessive and confusing. I wasn't quite sure why there were so many of them. Sir Prize you should definitely remake that thread in the Engineer section. I'm pretty sure that community - Other thing is more used for models and stuff, which weren't really the focus of your thread.
  20. Just to give some first impressions (which are what you're going to want to appeal to when people first jump into your map): -The layout feels pretty confusing, especially for RED team. Even with the giant red arrows it was still somewhat hard to figure out where to go. -That little drop off with the giant square pit seems like a cool spot, but it looks like it wouldn't end up being a very important spot in the gameplay, which is a shame because it seems like there's some potential there. I think maybe expanding on that little deck area and emphasizing the exits there would make it cooler. Then again, you play Spy a lot, so maybe that was what it was intented for? A less traveled (and more dangerous) route? -Goes without saying, there's not a lot of flavor to the map. It's pretty bland looking, but you're well aware of that I think. -Point A looks kind of interesting to play on. I like the different elevation levels there and the fact that there are two paths to get to it. The only thing I can think to suggest is maybe making a plank board walkway from that BLU house right across from it that leads along the wall and goes adjacent to the point. Just one more point of entry, and would make that BLU house more important for getting in and out of. Those are just my suggestions. I'm really interested in making maps myself, but I haven't started yet so my advice is entirely just opinion.
