  1. Guys, please, before this starts as a troll thread against Zimmer and Madeline, remember that there have been a lot of people who have wanted to have their dreams come true by getting to sing in a videogame as popular as this - nearly 300 of them.

Jill is already greatful enough for the huge amount of support she gained throughout this whole process, and her latest post in this thread is proof that she feels happy enough that she has so many people backing her up. So well played with the whole campaign, Mrs. Aversa!

At the same time, we should also feel gracious for Madeline's victory. It may not have been what you guys would have wanted, but please remember to keep yourselves as good sports at the same time. It's her moment to bask, so be sure to congratulate her and everyone else who took part :)

either way, im excited to hear what they will come up with. I loved the previous assassins creed themes, and im sure with this being the supposed finale of the series, theyll make something fantastic to end things. The trailer music sure was good, even though they didnt actually produce it specifically for the game. Im glad jillian got in the finals though, thats gotta be exciting to even get that far.

  2. I always did like the knight of lodis soundtrack. It might even be why i like VGM so much. Before i had an mp3/ cd player of any sort, i just jammed to music on my gameboy by loading up my favorite areas. Anyways, they didnt give specific names to any of the battle tracks (if i remember right) and just numbered them. I never did figure out how to unlock all the music in music mode. However I feel like Track number 4 would be a deserving track for some remix action. If nobody else gets around to it by then, its number one on my list to try and tackle once i learn more about HOW to remix.

  3. In Crusaders of might and magic for PSone, they dont tell you at all how to beat the final boss and it took me 7 years to figure it out. After playing and replaying the game like 3 or 4 times thinking i had missed some magical weapon needed to defeat necros, i found out you just use any ranged weapon of your liking and shoot at the random towers around the arena in which you fight necros. If you didnt , after a while necros would just get "stuck" on a random spot in the level and run in place. No amount of hacking at him did any good. It was just such an obscure thing to do that it even took people writing walkthroughs a few extra months to figure it out. Overall that game ending was a let down though ( even the pc version).

On a similar note, In Castlevania aria of sorrow you can skip the entire clock tower segment of the game by hopping on the back of one of those stone breathing bull things and backdashing into a wall. It teleports you to the arena , but good luck beating Balore at such a low level.

  4. I did a quick search and found nothing relating to this. But FL studio mobile is out now! Its for iOS devices ( which is the drawback, i wish it was cross-platform , but i guess i can see why its not) . I sprung for it, and being a green newbie that i am, I was able to pick it up and figure it out for the most part within a few minutes. Seems to be a pretty sweet little tool for laying down ideas on the go. Im going to get an akai synthstation sometime soon and i've heard its compatible with that. I suppose the synthstation is a little gimmicky, but its hella fun. would be a nice little tool for live performing at little parties, or travel.

    any thoughts?

  5. this game was one of the first gba games i ever bought. and that was back in the day before i listened to anything BUT videogame music, due to my lack of anything but a gameboy and headphones in terms of media playback devices. So naturally, I liked this soundtrack. Im suprised not many people liked it. i spent mucho time listening to the main castle theme, deaths theme, and the marble corridor themes.

  6. If you want the PC with the best build quality out there, go for a Sony Vaio. They look very good, are tough, have good specs, but are expensive.

they do indeed make some really nice ones. I bought a dell duo a few months back to tie myself over until i bought a REAL laptop, but i almost bought the low end vaio because i liked it so much, it just happened to be like 100 bucks out of my range at the time. i almost wish i had bought it now.

  7. n-n-n-n-necrobump!

the mac SSDs are faster than standard hard drives, but they're not faster than equivalent drives. a better CPU will benefit more than a better HDD.

go with the larger HDD. you alwasy, always, always need more.

whats a necrobump? Also, the ones that come stock at 5400 rpm drives, would it be in my best interest to buy a 7400 or higher rpm drive later down the road? Ill definitely be buying an external drive at some point.

aaand since im here, can you daisy chain with firewire?

  8. Im not sure if i shouldve started new thread, but given that this is a laptop buying thread I figure its safe to post this here. (my last forum experience is over on UER.ca, and they get really picky)

Anyways, to the point, Ive decided to spring for the money for a macbook pro and im stuck on whether to get the baseline 13" model with a 256 SSD drive, or the top of the line 13" model with the stock 500 gb hard drive. The cost will be roughly similar. its just that the SSd is noticeably faster. My question is, would 256 even be enough space to use the computer as an audio workstation? especially if i decide to use bootcamp to run windows on it so i could use FL studios or run some windows games. It will be my first foray into the world of music production, and with the reading ive been doing, im not quite sure how much space one would need for software, loops and whatever other data i happen to accumulate in my musical endeavors.

  9. Hello everyone. I may or may not have posted here yet. I really dont remember, i made this account several months ago, before my dreams of music makin took the back burner for a bit. But im back, and in action!

Ive been perusing this site for a little over two years, i was originally drawn here by Pixietricks' remix of radical dreamers. I was amazed by the sheer amount of music, and talent on this site. Ive been addicted ever since.

Ive played violin for a while (but i took a long break) and i have some experience with keyboard. Im buying some of my equipment by the end of july and i can barely contain my excitement. Im tying myself over by aggresively reading all about sound engineering, and its all quite fascinating to me.

As for this forum, im new to this whole forum thing, so ill do my best to not annoy everyone with how green i am. If i do anything wrong, feel free to let me know. :ocrgreen:

overall, im glad to be here! i have a feeling its going to a great time
